Ivory Madonna 13.20 Newmarket 1 Pt Win @ Evens (bog)

An expensive purchase at the breeze-ups who made a promising start to her career when third in Goodwood maiden in May. Took a significant step forward when filling that same position in Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot a month later and she's likely to progress further.

Useful horse. C&D winner. 5/1, good second of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 26 days ago. Tongue strap on first time. Expected to be bang there.

Presenting Pete 20.40 Southwell 1 Pt Win @ 6\5 (bog)

Landed a gamble on first start for new yard over C&D 3 weeks ago, staying on well. 4 lb rise won't prevent another very bold bid.

Onameridance 20.00 Killarney 1 Pt Win @ 15\8 (bog)

Promising individual. Career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Down Royal (10.3f, good to soft, 11/4) 24 days ago, plenty in hand. Tongue strap on 1st time. Has good chance on form.

Update :

Overall

image.png.ba11cc48c5438a134a4d3de210ca1a84.png

Year 6

image.png.ef4f62c65bd97c9c022911b82963a6c8.png

** Well Year 6 has turned out to be a disaster so far. The SR is well down on the overall SR, 7.2%.

Ireland is a total disaster showing a loss once again. The first year I had a healthy return of 14.1% in Ireland, nothing for the following years.

Very disappointed with the UK this year. This was quite the opposite to Ireland as it was showing profit every year bar year 3 when there was a loss of 1.2% but is still hanging in with a ROI of 1.4% overall. The way things are going recently that could be gone by the time we reach March.

Anyways onwards and upwards, hopefully.

2nd & 1st @ 3\1 Wednesday

Bresson 13.00 Newbury 1 Pt Win @ Evens (bog)

Shaped well when third on debut over 6.5f here in May, and again when just touched off by Victory Dance (close second in Group 2 company since) upped to 7f at Newmarket (good). Sets a good standard for the others to aim at.

Old Bill Barley 18.00 Kilbeggan 1 pt Win @ 6\5 (bog)

Fairly useful bumper winner. Third of 11 in bumper at Listowel (20f, heavy, 6/4) 39 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Back down in trip.

Pair of 3rd's yesterday

Dee Star 16.43 Cartmel 1 Pt Win @ 6\4 (bog)

Goes well here, resuming winning ways in C&D handicap in May (decent form) before a good second to 126-rated rival building up a solid course record himself 3 weeks ago. Strong claims.

Magical Lagoon 15.45 Curragh 1 Pt Win @ 11\8 (bog)

Promising type. 11/4, career best when winning 6-runner Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot (12f, good to firm) 30 days ago by ½ length from Sea Silk Road. Likeable sort who can do better still, so looks the obvious one tn Emily Upjohn's absence.

Appreciate 13.45 Newton Abbott 1 Pt Win @ 11\8 (bog)

Four wins this summer (including C&D) and another fine effort when second at Stratford last Sunday. Another bold show likely.

Unless 13.40 Curragh 1 Pt Win @ 11\10 (bog)

Justify filly who offered something to work on amidst greenness when close-up third of 5 in a Leopardstown maiden (7f) 45 days ago. Clearly thought capable of better then (sent off at 2/7) and just the type to leave that bare form in her wake.

3rd & 2nd today

Get With It 15.55 Perth 1 Pt Win @ 7\4 (bog)

Fair maiden hurdler who has improved with each start over fences, reeled in only by a well-treated one in a C&D handicap 4 weeks ago (clear of remainder). Handicapper has reacted but one to be interested in on that evidence.

Dawn Rising 17.10 Galway 1 Pt Win @ 15\8 (bog)

Useful form on Flat (stays 13f, runner-up in Group 3 when last seen in 2020) for Aidan O'Brien. Long absence to overcome but he's well bred and with top connections. No surprise to see him go well.

Grocer Jack  15.00 Haydock 1 Pt Win @ 6\5 (bog)

Dual Group 3 winner in Europe last year and it hasn't taken long for him to show himself capable of even better form for his new yard, blitzing his rivals from the front in Newbury listed over this triup last month. Will take a lot of stopping if in a similar mood.

Winner of handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe in July and backed that up with a good third back over fences at Roscommon (24.3f, soft) 4 days ago, despite being left with too much to do. Expected to be bang there.
