The National didnt work out with GLB falling at the first, TDN running a big race when falling in the lead and the other 3 fading out of it after running good races, more than likely just not quite seeing out the trip. I wouldnt have backed the winner with a dozen goes! The next race was a pain too with all 3 finishing in the top 5 and the 33/1 shot ending up a head 2nd. Even in the last the horse that won was beaten fair and square by the selection previously. On the flat both ran good races but not quite good enough on the day and may be sharper for their return finishing just outside the places. He has started the season in very good form and with his running style from a very good draw (especially given where his main rivals are drawn - Masamah 7 & Lucky Beggar 9) it should give him a big advantage. As long as he gets out the gate and as long as it doesnt rain too much between now and the race, he should take the beating. I at least hope so as my stakes are at the next level now too.
