Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th I think Evian had a very HUGE problem in his defense , we can have a overs game here against PSG PSG Group : Gardiens : Douchez, Sirigu Défenseurs : Marquinhos, Camara, Aurier, Digne, David Luiz, Maxwell Milieux : Chantôme, Pastore, Lucas, Motta, Verratti, Matuidi, Cabaye Attaquants : Bahebeck, Ongenda, Cavani, Lavezzi We have certainly one of the best midfield of the world but i think the game gone be a bus park style , be careful but I see 2 or 3 goals for PSG here , we need points and we have to take them NOW!

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th Evian – PSG Everyone is presuming that PSG will win this match easily, but it might not be as simple as that. For a start, the visitors are without their two best players, Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ok, yes Les Parisians do have a lot of depth and in a fixture like this arguably they might not miss them at all. Having said that, PSG absolutely HATE travelling to this stadium and have a poor recent record here. Since Evian got promoted to Ligue 1, Laurent Blanc’s men have only managed to beat them once at Le Parc de Sports, and even on that occasion it was only by a one goal margin. Evian have been smashed 3-0 and 6-2 by Caen and Rennes in the last two weeks, but they have a history of performing well as a serious underdog. Nobody is giving them a prayer here but with a bit of luck they could be competitive. Motivation will be extremely high and sometimes in games like this, strange results can happen. If this match becomes closer than expected then someone like Zlatan will definitely be missed, especially for his physical presence. Overall, I expect PSG to get the 3 points in the end, but I’m not interested in backing them on a -1.25 handicap. I don’t think this’ll end up the hammering everyone expects and I believe Evian could perform above their recent level. Prediction: Evian 1-2 PSG NO BET

When I saw the odds, one of my thoughts was Evian look pretty long at 10.0. If you reckon backing PSG -1.25 is poor value (current odds 2.09 with 188Bet), then perhaps backing Evian +1.25 might be good value (current odds 1.92 with Ladbrokes)?

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th Well, given the fact Marseille is extremely leaky at the back these days I will avoid betting on them. Their loss last week at home against Montpellier was a real shocker. In the offensive part they are well capable and I do think they will score tonight but Guingamp has always been a solid home team. Hard to beat and they don't concede very often. Home side still without important midfielder Sankhare but their squad is fine overall. Main problem for Guingamp is scoring goals. Failed in 4 of their last 5 games to score a goal. Against Lens they weren't convincing either but against the stronger teams they often raise their game. Marseille scored and conceded in every game away from home so far. I think Guingamp will sit back and try to keep a cleansheet as long as possible, their confidence going forward isn't big. It all really depends on how well Marseille will play. If they reach a high level I don't see much chances for Guingamp but they are dodgy lately so hard to predict. Defensive midfielder Lemina is out for Marseille. Gun to my head I would say an underish game and probably Marseille to win by the odd goal. But I will skip, maybe live betting if Marseille starts well.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th I saw Marseille's home match against Montpellier and I have to say that OM was far from impressive. They had the Bielsa style of play, trying to outscore the other team. The trouble is they ,as expected, looked poor defensively (Brice Dja Djedje must be mentioned ) but also poor in attack...the only player who was in good form that day was Alessandrini. Did not see the match with Bastia,so maybe I was just a poor day for OM,but it was a poor day indeed.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th Reims – Caen It’s been a tough start to the season for Reims, they’ve faced the likes of PSG and St Etienne. Having said that, they’ve actually competed fairly well and even managed to pick up a point in those fixtures. New coach Jean Luc Vasseur is certainly willing to ‘have a go’ and I can see them scoring quite a few goals this season under his guidance. Newly promoted Caen meanwhile, certainly haven’t disgraced themselves. A superb 3-0 away win at Evian was followed up by an unlucky home defeat to Lille. The big problem for Caen though is that they suffered a couple of crucial injuries last week. Key striker Mathieu Duhamel is out for a month, whilst left back Emmanuel Imorou could be out for even longer. Duhamel is a complete stud and absolutely massive for them, suddenly they’ll have WAY less of a threat in the final third of the field. Reims on the other hand, have a squad in good condition and I think they’ll get the job done tonight. They aren’t anything special but are renowned for their strong home form. Taking the Champagne outfit on a -0.25 line looks sensible and I’m surprised odds as big as 2.07 are available. Prediction: Reims 3-1 Caen Recommended bet: Reims -0.25 @ 2.07 5/10 Guingamp – Marseille There was a lot of preseason hype and promise surrounding OM, but so far they haven’t delivered when it matters. The biggest concern has been in defence, where at times they’ve been a shambles. Marcelo Bielsa’s new systems haven’t really worked properly and they look far too vulnerable, especially out wide. A number of silly mistakes have also been made which hasn’t helped them. At least OM have looked a decent offensive force and they should threaten the net a few times today. Guingamp usually end up getting involved in rather boring defensive encounters, but might be forced to open up here. Team news is favourable for both sides so that isn’t a factor. I’m really torn as to which way this match will go. It all depends whether or not Marseille can tighten up at the back. If they keep a clean sheet, or even concede just one goal then they’ll probably win. But I wouldn’t bank on it. Prediction: Guingamp 1-2 Marseille NO BET Bastia – Toulouse A lot of media attention has been on Bastia this week regarding the Brandao headbutt. He’s suspended indefinitely, so in the short term they’ll be missing his services upfront. Bastia were really poor last week at PSG, although perhaps they were scared and gave Les Parisiens too much respect. Here at home on their own island, they should be much better, but there remains a lot of question marks surrounding this team. It must be remembered that the squad has undergone a major overhaul this summer and it could take time for all the new signings to gel. Toulouse lost at Nice on the opening day but followed it up with a decent victory against Lyon. They often start campaigns pretty well and probably prefer playing away from home. Their counter attacking style can be very effective on the road and it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if they got something here. Bastia DNB is probably value here but it’d be a risk betting against Toulouse, so I’ll give it a swerve. Prediction: Bastia 2-2 Toulouse NO BET Nice – Bordeaux The hosts are a +0.25 line here, which is probably wrong. But I couldn’t back them right now considering their absentee list. Key men such as Bodmer, Kolo, Pied, Cvitanich, plus a couple of others all miss out either because of injury, or possible impending transfers out of the club. Nice are having to rely on a lot of inexperienced youngsters right now and hope that team spirit gets them a few results. Bordeaux have started the season with a couple of victories and probably shouldn’t be taken on. They themselves still have a number of injuries, and their midfield especially looks weak. But because they’re on so much of a roll I’ve got a feeling they’ll get 3 points tonight. Their price is really poor and they shouldn’t be an away favourite at this stage of the season, but at the end of the day I fancy them to prevail. Prediction: Nice 0-1 Bordeaux NO BET Lille – Lorient The big question here is how badly Lille will be affected by playing in the CL. Usually, it can take a lot of of teams who aren’t used to playing midweeks and I have a feeling Les Dogues could struggle tonight. Besides, it’s not as if they are in great form anyway, lack of goals are their major problem. You just know that LOSC will keep things very tight at the back, but do they have enough firepower to propel them to victory here? Lorient seem to have started the season fairly well, and despite the loss of Vincent Aboubakar, should still possess a threat tonight. To actually win would be a surprise, but it’s not beyond them to draw. Either way, I’m not really interested betting in this contest and I think 0-0 and 1-1 are the most likely outcomes. Prediction: Lille 1-1 Lorient NO BET Montpellier – Metz I actually think Montpellier will win here tonight, but the risk of a 0-0 or 1-1 draw is too high to warrant betting on them. It doesn’t take einstein to know how Metz will approach this game. They are going to try and park a massive bus right in front of the MHSC goal and they’d snap your hand off for a 0-0. Metz are an extremely boring side who aren’t pretty to watch, but can be very effective. If they could sneak a goal on the counter attack here then Montpellier will be in all sorts of trouble. However, I’ve got a feeling the hosts will ‘find a way’ to get the 3 points in the end and probably win 1-0 thanks to a late goal or something. I was close to backing them, but @ odds-on I’m not really interested. Prediction: Montpellier 1-0 Metz NO BET

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th Again really weird odd movement just before the reims game started. It looked like a boring draw but in the end caen suddenly scored two goals really killed me. Dunno why but again the odds dropped a lot for caen pre-game and they won it in the end while Reims played with their expected line-up and were pretty active too.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th Lyon - Lens Lyon have huge problems in defense. Imporant defenders Samuel Umtiti, Henri Bedimo, Milan Bisevac and Gueida Fofana are all out due to injuries. Lens are the only team in Ligue 1 yet to score a goal, but I think that Lyon's defensive situation will present them with a good opportunity to get off the mark. Lyon struggled with Astra's attack during the midweek Europa League fixture and conceded twice. I would rate Lens on probably the same level as the Romanian team. Goal/Goal 2.20 Coral Nantes - Monaco Monaco have looked very bad in defense so far this season. They conceded six goal in two matches in which they did not concede a goal once last season. Monaco's strength clearly lies in their attack. I reckon both team should have enough chances to find the back of the net. Goal/Goal 2.15 Betvictor

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > August 22nd - 24th i just wanted to add that lyon are shit literally so stay away from them in the future. i wanted to see how they played but were exposed so many times on the counter attack against lens and should have lost 5-0. they are defensively awful and lens tore them apart. they played like school boys and creating very little forward and have no match winners. i think lyon are done like ac milan. i don't expect much from them this season. i think they are still young team with not a lot of experience or understanding of each other and team spirit doesn't seem to be there...oh and no leadership
