Re: Nap of the Day Competition - Thursday 10th July Newmarket 3.15 Mount Logan @ 4/1 bet365 Mount Logan....from Luca Cumani yard who's horse have bee flashing in at the moment with 5 winner from 7 runners in last 5 days, Mount Logan is a 3yo who's only had 4 runs, three of which was a 2yo with one win but was found out stamina wise as a 2yo here 8f g/s last October where it finished 7/8 runners where it weakened 2f out to finish 14 lengths behind winner Kingston Hill , The yard have worked on stamina and fitness during the winter at it reappeared 27 days ago at Goodwood 1m 2f good and the winter work proved positive as this time out coming from back a effort 2f out, headway to lead just over 1f out and soon clear and in command to ran on well and win by 2.3/4 lengths Jockey Andrea Atzeni is in saddle for first time today and has had a winner for yard 3 days ago

Re: Nap of the Day Competition - Thursday 10th July 3.15 Newmarket - 1pt win Madeed @ 7/1 (Bet365) Difficult race to assess but this one ran really well in the Britannia, being edged out into 2nd on his side but stayed on really well under pressure to suggest that this extra 2f will help him. His pedigree suggests that too and the nature of the big-field straight mile races at Ascot makes you think that it'll be well within his compass. Would have gone close had he been on the stands side and his form prior to that also reads well. Beat a now 90-rated horse in his maiden with a now 87-rated rival back in third and then can be excused in the strung out field behind True Story on his reappearance. It was a strange race but smart horses who were well beaten that day have come out and done well since (Barley Mow and Somewhat only just in front of my selection). Clearly showed he'd come on for that at the royal meeting and under potentially ideal conditions a mark of 89 does not look restrictive on the balance of form. Should go well.

Re: Nap of the Day Competition - Thursday 10th July 6:50 Leopardstown I live pretty near Leopardstown where it has been raining pretty heavily making News at Six very opposable as both his eye catching runs have been on good to firm giving the other runners a shot here. Nonchalant is a decent prospect for D K Weld and is my favourite out of these with the potential to run a big race in receipt of 11lbs after disappointing last time out at the Curragh where he didn't have a clean run. Nonchalant finished just over 2L behind 102 rated Ponfeigh at Navan before that and with the potential to improve further he can run a good race here. Nonchalant - 1pt Win 4/1 Coral

Re: Nap of the Day Competition - Thursday 10th July NR sooo... 8.10 Bath - 1pt win Bold Cross @ 12/1 (Betfred) This is so weak I'm going to give a chance to a horse out of form and getting on but is plummeting in the weights and can be excused to a degree on three starts when well beaten this season. This is an ideal track for him, the ground is perfect as are conditions. If he can't go okay in this company off this sort of mark with a claimer taking further weight off then it's time to call it a day. Hopefully can improve today.
