Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Agree, but in Madrid there are so many talented players who normally won't stand a chance to make it to the first 18 players for the season. No doubt they will be determined to give their best and perform on a high level. They trained the past few weeks for this cup and I just think they posess way more quality overall than inter milan.. Furthermore, inter has more regulars available for this game but their two best are out palacio and hernanes along with campagnaro. I'm not convinced this is a good thing for Inter cause the youngsters of Madrid might be more focussed on such a friendly cup than the old gaurd of Inter. 0-2 is my call here!

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 According to FI, Madrid have already named their starting XI, as follows: Real Madrid: Diego Lopez; Carvajal, Pepe, Nacho, Diego Llorente; Illarra, Medran,Isco, Lucas Vazquez; Raul de Tomas, Bale A few names pop out of course, but I'd doubt whether they are value on any handicap as Inter aren't mugs. Especially as this is one of those pedestrian friendlies where 8-9 changes are usually made.

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 A little bit of further news: Mazzarri has said that the majority of his squad can play little more than 45 mins, more or less confirming plenty of changes being made at some point. Kovacic is also out of the match. Given that Guarin and Hernanes are absent that does make the midfield look particularly weak. Once Icardi plays his '45 mins' then any change up front is going to be a steep drop in quality. Overall, the defence is probably a tad better than Madrid's, with enough decent players for before and after changes, but the midfield and attack look thin and pretty garbage.

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 10pts Tottenham (-1.0 AH) @ 1.90 Bet365 Tottenham have played two games thus far, drawing 3-3 with Seattle Sounders and winning 3-2 against Toronto. Chicago Fire are 8th out of 10 teams in their Eastern conference league and are coming off a 5-1 loss to SJ Earthquakes who are 9th out of 9 teams in their Western conference league. Given the way Tottenham are playing, they should have enough firepower to beat Chicago Fire here, whether they can do so by 2 or more goals depends on their defence which has leaked 5 goals in the 2 games thus far.

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 10pts Manchester City to win @ 1.80 PaddyPower Manchester City started their pre-season tour in the states with a comfortable 4-1 win over Sporting Kansas City who are top out of 10 teams in their Eastern conference league. AC Milan played their 1st game in the cup where they lost 0-3 to Olympiakos. Based on the squad mentioned below, it is highly likely we will see the likes of Yaya Toure, David Silva, Navas get some play time and that coupled with AC Milan's convincing loss to Olympiakos and Man City's confident win over Sporting KC, I think Man City should do enough to come out with a win here. Following is the Manchester City roster for the tournament (Country represented for World Cup): Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (England), Willy Caballero, Richard Wright, Ian Lawlor Defenders: Micah Richards, Matthias Bossaerts, Jason Denayer, Karim Rekik, Matija Nastasic, Dedryck Boyata, Gael Clichy, Aleksandar Kolarov Midfielders: Fernando, Samir Nasri, Scott Sinclair, Javi Garcia, Emyr Huws, Jack Rodwell, Bruno Zuculini, James Milner (England), David Silva (Spain), Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast) Forwards: Alvaro Negredo, John Guidetti, Kelechi Ihenacho, Stevan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Source for Manchester city's squad for the cup: http://internationalchampionscup.com/news/?article_id=93

Re: Club Friendlies 2014

According to FI, Madrid have already named their starting XI, as follows: Real Madrid: Diego Lopez; Carvajal, Pepe, Nacho, Diego Llorente; Illarra, Medran,Isco, Lucas Vazquez; Raul de Tomas, Bale A few names pop out of course, but I'd doubt whether they are value on any handicap as Inter aren't mugs. Well, if this is their starting line-up I would be very happy. Checked some stats and medran, Lucas and Tomas are quite technical players and good for goals. Probably a lot of changes in the 2th half but with the likes of ramos and modric back in training they might play half an hour or so for some rythm. Defense and goalie looks fine to me if you compare it with the creativity of Inter for this game. Doubt Icardi can do it all by himself. Hope Isco can play a more decisive roll this year especially in these kind of games. Will be tough for him with James joining madrid but he's still a hell of a player. Fingers crossed cause I already pulled the trigger yesterday. Odds keep dropping on Madrid! Goodluck all. Also like the look of city but the game is far away so need more info on the line-ups! United almost played with their best 11 against LA galaxy and since Van Gaal is introducing his new formation they will probably play with a strong squad again. Roma are definitely no push-overs and strong defensively so hard one to call. But united will face Inter after this game and I will surely jump on those odds when they come out cause a strong line-up of united is surely capable of beating a mixture squad of Inter. And I know Van Gaal pretty well and he always wants to win. He likes the positive attention after a game cause he's a man of honor. Coaching a great club in England was his last dream and he will take this cup very serious and wants to start well to reduce the pressure he's feeling right now.

10pts Tottenham (-1.0 AH) @ 1.90 Bet365 Tottenham have played two games thus far, drawing 3-3 with Seattle Sounders and winning 3-2 against Toronto. These yanks play these matches smack bang in the middle of their league matches. Surely they can't give a toss about winning. Especially sitting in 8th. Chicago have 20 points in 8th. 5th, 6th and 7th all sit on 23 points and 5th place is the cut off for their "play-offs" or whatever hideous abomination of a name they give to their knockout rounds. Got bigger problems perhaps?

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Perth Glory v Malaga I'm surprised to see Malaga at odds above 1.5 here given that they thrashed Adelaide United 5-1 on Friday. Adelaide finished above Perth last season. There seems to be a good chance that Malaga will beat Perth by a few goals so I think the handicap odds might be worth taking on this. As far as I know the only Aus/NZ side who have beaten top flight European opposition recently are Wellington Phoenix of New Zealand who beat West Ham - but Phoenix seem to have extra confidence playing at home in NZ and West Ham were poor on the day. It's not impossible to imagine Perth beating Malaga but it seems unlikely, and if Malaga get in front they could easily add more with the skill of their attack. Malaga are probably several classes above Perth and the -1 handicap odds look quite good to me ... Malaga -1EH 2.25 youwin Stake: 5 points

I fancy a tight win for Man United here, pretty speculative bet going off just Man United's line-up and their comfortable first pre-season game win. Line ups for the Man United vs Roma game: #mufc XI vs @OfficialASRoma: Johnstone; Jones, Evans, Blackett; Valencia, Cleverley ©, Herrera, James, Welbeck; Mata, Rooney

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 5pts Aston Villa to win @ 1.95 Betway Aston Villa have won both their pre-season friendlies thus far, 3-1 vs Mansfield and 2-0 vs Dallas. They are up against Houston Dynamo who are 9th out of 10 teams in the Eastern conference league. Having already beaten Dallas who are 4th out of 9 teams in the Western conference league, I think Aston Villa should do enough to win against their opponents who are in a bit of a bad spell having not won in their last 5 games in a row (2-3, 3-0, 2-2, 4-2, 2-2) and who seem to have a tendency to concede a number of goals.

Re: Club Friendlies 2014

Perth Glory v Malaga I'm surprised to see Malaga at odds above 1.5 here given that they thrashed Adelaide United 5-1 on Friday.
Yeah good call, Perth have been bottom feeders of the A-league for a few seasons now and it's lucky for them we don't have relegation in this country. Adelaide are the entertainers of the League with quite a few Spanish, Portuguese, South American imports playing attractive 4-3-3 attacking football. They are one level better than Perth. Perth on the other hand don't have the quality of players of the other teams. Their players are made up of young inexperienced players who make wrong decisions and old workhorse grinding players who graft away. In the off season their influential captain Jacob Burns retired. Jacob Burns and the other senior players banded together last season to start a player revolt and oust the coach at the time because he wasn't playing the old wooden players enough and was instead giving more match time to his two sons. The new coach Kenny Lowe (former Birmingham player) is another basket case who thinks he's more talented and special than reality says. He hasn't changed the way Perth play at all and last season they still finished 3rd last with Lowe and 2 points above the last placed team. For example, Perth were supposed to play Sydney Olympic (a lower division local team) last week but Kenny Lowe walked away from the match at the 11th hour stating the grounds didn't offer proper change rooms or a warm up area for his side and left Sydney Olympic (not much money) to pay for ground hire, security, catering etc. The real reason I believe Lowe did this was because the NRL side (Canterbury Bulldogs) that trains at the ground, didn't allow Lowe's Perth players to practice there in the days leading up to the match. Another display of pride and arrogance by Kenny Lowe. The match may have been useful considering they're facing Malaga who are 200 levels better than them. :lol So all in all if Malaga play with a similar line up and motivation to that which I witnessed against Adelaide, it could be Perth's heaviest spanking in their history. Juanmi among a few others really impressed. Good luck mate :ok I've taken Malaga -1 AH @ 1.95 bet 365
ps. Adelaide beat Perth 1-0 in a friendly on 20th July pps. relevant news article. http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/football/perth-glory-chasing-win-in-friendly-against-malaga/story-fnhq6mze-1227002645095?nk=c688efa553e6b83bf52fe6b762ff0ae5 "Lowe is set to unveil six new signings in his starting XI, with Andy Keogh, Youssouf Hersi, Mitch Nichols, Richard Garcia, Dino Djulbic and Diogo Ferreira all ready to impress." - Basically a new disjointed bunch of players against Malaga who have been together for seasons. "Glory was the lowest scoring team in the A-League last season, scoring just 28 goals in 27 matches."

5pts Aston Villa to win @ 1.95 Betway Aston Villa have won both their pre-season friendlies thus far, 3-1 vs Mansfield and 2-0 vs Dallas. 10pts Tottenham (-1.0 AH) @ 1.90 Bet365 Tottenham have played two games thus far, drawing 3-3 with Seattle Sounders and winning 3-2 against Toronto.
Man United won 3-2. Aston Villa won 1-0. Tottenham won 2-0. +16.6pts

10pts Manchester City to win @ 1.80 PaddyPower Manchester City started their pre-season tour in the states with a comfortable 4-1 win over Sporting Kansas City who are top out of 10 teams in their Eastern conference league.
Just watched AC Milan vs Olympiakos highlights:
I thought that AC Milan looked sloppy and their defence was caught sleeping too many times. It could have easily been 5 or 6 for Olympiakos. Hence I'm adding on a couple of additional bets as I think Man City are good value here. 5pts Man City to win @ 1.75 Skybet 2pts Man City (-1 EH) @ 3.10 Boylesports 1pt Man City (-2 EH) @ 6.50 Skybet

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Real was awful especially in the second half. Inter played with more regulars than expected and were the better side overall. Bad day, shit happens! English sides are doing well though :-)

It says on the official Man City website here http://m.mcfc.co.uk/?i=12538/1/0&artId=534659 that "Though Edin Dzeko, David Silva, , James Milner and Yaya Toure joined the squad in New Jersey on Thursday, the World Cup quartet will not be involved against Milan as they build up their fitness, though Joe Hart has travelled with the squad."

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Hmm, I was going to oppose Liverpool in some form, but that starting line-up is pretty decent from Liverpool, going to sit back and just watch it. Good luck to anyone playing on this match. Confirmed #LFC team v @olympiacos_org: Jones, Johnson, Skrtel, Toure, Enrique, Gerrard, Henderson, Can, Sterling, Markovic, Sturridge Confirmed #LFC subs v @olympiacos_org: Ward, Coutinho, Coates, Lucas, Allen, Ibe, Kelly, Coady, Robinson, Lambert, Peterson #lfctour P.S. Just noticed Man City's game has been delayed due to rain. Not sure what the rules are in the states, but I hope they don't void all my bets...

Re: Club Friendlies 2014 Wacker Innsburck - Koln I am surprised with the odds on away win. The class gap here is big - a Bundesliga team against a team from the second tier of Austria (1 Liga). Wacker lost this summer friendlies against Ajax with 1:5 and Werder Bremen with 2:5. It is interesting that the friendly with Werder was played last Wednesday, amidst two official matches for Wacker from the Austrian 1 Liga. For this reason, after 30 minutes of play, the coach of Wacker Innsbruck changed the whole starting eleven and put second-string players. Now Wacker have started with 2 losses and 0 points in their league and on Friday they have important away game vs Kapfenberger. This means that surely they will rest their regular players, which in addition to the big class gap, should make this game very one-sided. Koln -1.5 @ 2.48 (Marathon)
