Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th 4pts Wales to beat Finland 13/10 William Hill A few of the Finland under 21 squad which lost to England on Thursday night are in this Finland squad and given how easily England’s youngsters dealt with them you have to feel Wales should be capable of doing a bit of a job here. Having Bale and Ramsey fit and in excellent form is a huge boost and those two should lead the hosts to a win here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/wales-vs-finland-betting-bale-and-ramsey-can-stand-out-in-a-wales-win 5pts Brazil (-1) to beat Honduras 3/4 Boylesports Honduras have done well to qualify for the World Cup but they face a massive test in this match. Brazil are in excellent form at the minute and have so much flair and firepower going forward. What has been most eye catching has been Brazil’s defence. They have only conceded two goals in their last six matches despite travelling all over the world to play. That defence can see them to another comfortable win here. Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th Poland -v- Republic of Ireland The Irish squad travel to Poznań today to play Poland on Tuesday, in the stadium where Ireland played twice during Euro 2012. This game certainly will be a 'friendly' in all senses of the word, as it will be an opportunity for both sets of fans to re-live the great scenes of June 2012 in the city of Poznań again. It is mainly for those reasons why this game has been arranged, and it also offers both the new management teams of Ireland and Poland an opportunity for a another test before the end of the calendar year. Martin O'Neill's team may have come through Friday night's friendly against Latvia with reletive ease, but Tuesday's away game in Poland will offer a much more difficult challenge and a proper test in reality (and that's not meant as disrespect to Latvia). Ireland travel to Poland full of confidence after a good display against Latvia on Friday, and with an air of optimism surrounding the team again. 37,000 supporters turned out for the game, to welcome the new management team of Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane, and that will have sent a positive message to both the management team, the players and the FAI. The performance was very good too, and Ireland thoroughly deserved their 3-0 victory. Therefore, their spirits are high for an away trip to Poland. Ireland will be without two players, who have both pulled out of the squad due to injury. West Ham's Joey O'Brien and Nottingham Forest's Andy Reid return to their clubs, and certainly that does lessen Ireland's options both in defence and midfield. However, it's now possible Sean St. Ledger will feature in central defence on Tuesday, as he has traveled to Poland, when it was thought his injury may prevent him from making the trip. Still, Ireland have a very strong squad available for this game, and with the likes of Shane Long, Anthony Stokes and Jonathan Walters eager to impress, having only come on as substitutes against Latvia, there's competitions for places too. The performances of James McCarthy, Seamus Coleman and James McClean especially were excellent on Friday, and those three players are certain to start again. The likelihood is Robbie Keane will captain the team again, while Aiden McGeady and Glen Whelan should also start. Martin O'Neill may look to change the defence a small bit, but John O'Shea should definitley start. All in all it is a strong Irish team, and a team which will be hard to beat. And that's surely what Poland will be aiming to do, after losing 2-0 to Slovakia on Friday night in Wroclaw. That result was a bad way for Adam Nawałka to have begun his tenure in charge of the national team, and it's certain that he'll be looking for his players to restore pride to the nation by getting a result against Ireland. That reaction will be key if Poland are able to beat Ireland. However the reality is, that this Polish team is not their strongest team. Many of their better players are not included in the squad, and instead many players from the domestic Polish league have been called up, and many of whom were either uncapped prior to these two games, or had very limited number of caps. In fact, Adam Nawałka called up and gave debuts to three players from his old club Górnik Zabrze on Friday against Slovakia. He did a good job with Górnik Zabrze, promoting them to the top league in Poland in his first season in charge, and he's turned them into a solid mainstay at the top end of the league. Clearly he is giving some of his favourites an opportunity to shine in the national team. Without the likes of Sebastian Boenisch, Łukasz Piszczek, Kamil Glik, Grzegorz Wojtkowiak, Marcin Wasilewski and Jakub Wawrzyniak in defence, Poland are very inexperienced in defence. Elsewhere they're without plenty of other good players in midfield and attack, which just goes to show how the new manager Adam Nawałka is choosing to treat these friendly games. He's giving an opportunity to lesser known players, and putting faith in players from the domestic league. Personally I'm not certain Poland can beat Ireland with such a squad of players. Therefore I've chosen Ireland +0.5AH for this game. Ireland will take this game very seriously and will do everything possible not to lose. That'll be Martin O'Neill's minimum goal from this game - and I'm sure none of the Irish players want to enter the dressing room after 90 minutes, and having to face both an angry Martin O'Neill or Roy Keane. So therefore, I'm confident Ireland can get a result in this game, especially since I don't believe this Polish team is strong. And even though Poland will be anxious to improve upon their reuslt on Friday, I don't believe Adam Nawałka has enough in his squad to go and beat Ireland. It'll be a big challenge for Adam Nawałka, considering he is up against one of the better tacticians in the game of football in Martin O'Neill. Good luck! My tip: Ireland +0.5AH @ 1.72 odds with SBOBet (1 unit)

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th Price on Italy has dropped to 1.68ish from 1.9ish. This appears to be because Nigeria only have 2 days recovery time from playing in Nigeria v Ethiopia on Saturdayand then playing in London at Craven Cottage monday evening against Italy. This seems a very tall order. Apparently they will arrive in London Sunday evening. Their preperation will be very poor and they will undoubtedly be very tired. Nigerians are pretty unpredictable anyway so interesting to see how they approach the game. They also have very little depth to their squad so any changes will weaken them considerably. What the italians will do I dont know. They played a strong lineup against the Germans so may make changes against Nigeria. 1.9 was certainly a great price. There probably is still some value left in the Italians though I wouldnt want to back them at to shorter price for a game such as this.

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th 4pts Argentina vs Bosnia - Both teams to score 4/5 Bet365 There are enough playmakers in both sides to make this an open sort of game so I see no reason why both can’t find the net. You’d think Argentina would be a little more used to having no Messi having been without him on Friday while Bosnia are going along nicely right now. Neither side get beaten too often but with games running out before the World Cup making even friendlies fairly competitive I’ll go with both scoring here. Hard to disagree here, but I think Poland will actually loose this one - they've been just too good in that recently, with 3 straight defeats and god knows how long sinće the last win. They are so poor that I dont think they can challenge anyone in Europe now. Would be interesting to hear from Irish supporters though - any insider news on the national team lads?

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th lol, I couldn't anyways, Italy - Nigeria http://www.direttanews.it/wp-content/uploads/hsGetImage30-478x506.jpg With this line-ups, over 2.25 @1.93 (and rising) seems like a good choice. Italy conceded in last 8 out of 10 games (in October 4 goals vs. sides like Denmark and Armenia), while Nigeria scored 22 in last 10 (vs. teams surely not close to Italy level, but weak back line in this game gives chance to Nigeria in attack). Italy will probably win this, but price of 1.60 definitely holds no value.

Would be interesting to hear from Irish supporters though - any insider news on the national team lads?
As an Irish fan, I can tell you the team is likely to be something like: Traditional 1-11: Forde, Coleman, Wilson, O'Shea, Pearce/St. Ledger, Whelan/Quinn, McGeady, McCarthy, Keane, Long/Hoolahan, McClean That's a good team, and I can see it being very unlikely they will lose. Edit: It's just been announced that Robbie Keane won't start tomorrow, so it'll probably be Shane Long playing in his place.

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th 3pts England to beat Germany 21/10 Coral A lot has been made of England’s defeat to Chile on Friday night but I think we’ll see a different England here and one which could well sneak a win. I think although nobody will admit it publicly this match was always the focus of attention for England this week purely because of who it is they are playing. With Low likely to rotate a few of his players England have the quality to pick up what would be a significant win ahead of the World Cup. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/england-vs-germany-betting-england-can-get-a-win-over-their-big-rivals-at-wembley 3pts Scotland to beat Norway 3/1 BetVictor Scotland look decent value to me in this match. Norway aren’t pulling up any trees at the minute whereas Scotland have won in Croatia and Macedonia recently and pushed England hard at Wembley. Scotland don’t look as easy to beat as they have done in the past so I don’t really see why they are 3/1 here. Although Rhodes and Fletcher are missing there are still goals in them so I’ll take the value play here. Neither side are what you would call particularly prolific and with minds probably back in club mode ahead of some big games this weekend I don’t see this being the best game in the world. Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th Netherlands - Colombia The dutch team played a good first halve against Japan. The second halve was terrible and Japan was much better and deserved the win. The dutch team is great in offence with V persie, Robben and lens, their midfield is ok with Strootman who is making a big impression at Roma. But their defence is crap no player is playing in a big league and in a good team outside the dutch competition. For this match their are missing V persie and Robben their best Two players. In addition also N de Jong is missing after the match against Japan. probarly line up Cillissen vd Wiel Veltman Vlaar Blind Schaars Strootman Vd Vaart Depay De Jong Lens Colombia has great attacking power with falcao, Rodriguez, bacca this will be too much for Thr duch defenders first time they play together with Veltman making his debut after playing 10 games for Ajax. Odds on Colombia are dropping already for three days took them 3 days ago for 4.1 now their odds are 3.7 on betfair still some value or Colombia plus 1 at 1.8 on betfair. Falcao if he will start can score goals odds for him tot score twice or more are 10 at unibet. my bets will be bts yes odds 1.7 betfair 10/10 Falcao to score twice or more odds 10 unibet 1/10 Colombia over 1.5 goals odds 2.55 unibet 6/10

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th Gibraltar v Slovakia I see nobody has discussed the first game of Gibraltar! They play their first match tonight against Slovakia, and as their home ground only holds 5,000 and doesn't meet UEFA standards they are playing at Estadio Algarve in Portugal which at 30,000 would comfortably hold the entire population of the territory. Gibraltar is smaller than San Marino - apparently 1/5th the size of Blackpool! - and their local league is obviously amateur featuring about 600 players with a Manchester United among other sides. Most of their players are part-time and have never played together before, the pro's and semi-pro's are Barnsley defender Scott Wiseman, striker Adam Priestley, who plays for non-league side Farsley, and former Stoke and Sunderland defender Danny Higginbotham who now plays for non-league Chester. Slovakia will be playing mainly reserves but they will all be familiar with each other and I can see a fairly one-sided game developing. The final scoreline I would like to guess! I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 to 8-0 but then it's difficult to know how bad they will be until the game starts. Bit of a gamble I guess considering I've never watched them play - but then again neither have the bookies and I would have priced this nearer 1.3. If Slovakia can keep it tight for 60mins I should be home as the amateurs will likely tire. I'm doubling it up with the obvious CS for England U21's against San Marino, no danger of that not coming in. Slovakia to Win to Nil - 1.56 - coral - 7.5 Points Slovakia + England U21's to Win to Nil - 1.83 - 5 Points

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th Was at hampden on Friday to watch scotland v USA with kids. USA were going through motions IMO. Big physical side but we're not interested at all. Scotland's lack of quality in the finish resulted in a draw as I thought we were quite poor at back and the chances USA fashioned were due to us being sloppy. Like said USA not trying at all. I think it will be same v Austria so I think Austria Dnb is a safe bet and a lot of value on Austria win.

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th 4pts Brazil vs Chile - Over 3.5 goals 27/20 Ladbrokes The last eight matches between these two sides have seen at least three goals and with their meeting earlier in the year finishing 2-2 I think we’ll see goals in this one too. Both sides looked in great form over the weekend so we’re in for something of a cracker, made better by the fact that games are running out for both ahead of the World Cup which should crank up the intensity. It is worth a bet that we’ll see at least four goals here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/brazil-vs-chile-betting-rogers-centre-crowd-can-expect-another-goalfest-between-these-two

I was looking at this myself, mainly because I thought the handicap was a little too big on Slovakia's side. I'm not sure it's true that the Gibralter players are unfamilir with each other as they have been playing friendlies together for a while now. We picked up Liam Walker along our tour of Gibraltar last summer as he clearly impressed and a lot of these players play for the same clubs in Gibraltar. It's also a tight nit league so I'd expect all the local lads to know eachother very well. Can't really argue with the selection though although there is a little of the unknown in this fixture as there's nothing to go by where Gibralter are concerned. It's their first fixture and will surely be a lot more competitive than a second string Slovakia. GL with the bet though!

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th International friendly match in Holland. Normally, this match would bet a no bet, but a handicap for Colombia would seem that has more value. Here we find a Dutch team full of heavy missings , as Van Persie , Huntelaar , Kuijt , Vorm , Senijder , Clasie , Martins and Willems wont play. What's more interesting, Van Gaal has said it will give minutes to the players that featured less and its star Robben will start from the bench. With Robben from the start, they were not been able to a few days ago to beat Japan (2:2). Colombia is a very strong , that fascinates me with his game very powerful attacks , led by Falcao but embraced by huge players like James Rodriguez or Armero. On the bench , waiting time, another predator unstoppable as Jackson Martinez , I do not doubt that he can do something against an inexperienced defense of Holland if Pekerman gives him minutes. They come from winning 2:0 to Belgium , the revelation team that caused a sensation in Europe recently. Colombia is one of the teams that had conceded fewer goals in the South American classification. In front has dynamite as we all know also a great midfield. From my point of view the South American teams do not understand "friendlies" , all games play to win , not the same play against a modest selection or to face a world finalist and win in their field, the motivations are totally different , warning that if you want to win , you have to play very good football. Colombia will be without Yepes, Zuniga, Quintero, Ospina, Mosquera, Soto. These players missing aswell in the last friendly against Belgium so I think "Los Cafeteros" can cope easily. Holland missing most important and I think Colombia has more quality. Huge value which is the victory of Colombia but will choose to insure with the level ball (0) Tip: Holland vs Colombia, 2(0) at 2.40 Sportingbet

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th International friendly match. Japan, after a draw against Holland (2:2) will face in Genk, Belgium. Belgium comes from losing at home 0-2 to Colombia, but deserved a bit more. Alberto Zacheroni and his Japan decent display in the Confederations Cup. Set free, without much defensive tactics, big mistakes at the back, but with enough offensive players: Endo, Kagawa, Osazaki . Japan team again wont feature a close game. If no catastrophe in the form of bad luck , 3-4-5 goals will see tonight. Tip: Over 2.5 goals in Belgium vs Japan at 1.91 Sportingbet

Re: International Friendlies > November 16th - November 20th I wouldn't agree. The fact is, the Polish line-up is very weak. That Irish team is still very experienced. Personally I think there are some surprises (Ward playing again, Kelly starting instead of Coleman), but overall they're going to be well prepared for this game. Playing Stokes, Walters and Long is a positive move by Martin O'Neill.

Maybe your right. I personally think the defence is shambolic and any team with Lewandowski in it cannot be classed as very weak in my opinion. I'll be very surprised if Ireland keep a clean sheet here, but of course i hope your right and hope I am completely wrong.

Finished 0-0 somehow, sounds like Slovakia battered them, hit the bar in the 92nd minute too. Fcuked off.
