Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: LIVE FINAL RAILING I did leave without speaking to any of the casino staff when I bowed out - but I did go over and speak to Mr Jarvis from the mag, and he took down my winamax username, so I'm assuming a credit will be put in at some point (nothing yet). Was good to meet a couple of you though yesterday, although I was only there for a very short time after we got to the cash, as I was very short stacked. I was also quite drunk at that point as I'd discovered they served a lovely pint of Murphy's a couple of hours prior :) JimDMole -was that you next to me when I went out & also remembered me from Cardiff? I'm actually struggling to remember what I said to who yesterday because I went and got a little bit drunker still post poker. Luckily my train back to Halifax wasn't until 10:56 this morning so I had a little while to sleep it off!

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: LIVE FINAL RAILING Congrats Stall3y! Brute force and some unorthodox (beer-fuelled :p) tactics towards the end saw you through. Critical mistake for me was when you were done for string betting. I'd raised pre with A-8, hit the 8-high flop and was waiting for you to donk-lead as you'd got in the habit of doing. You went to bet about 60k but started dropping 5k chips over the line one-by-one. I went to look at my stack to ship but when I looked up saw you'd been forced to make a 10k min-bet, which completely threw me. Ended up calling which was

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: LIVE FINAL RAILING catastrophically bad by me. You played well though! Sorry to hear you lost coat/trophy - I presume you've tried Aspers?? Good to see everyone and thanks to all for making it so much fun. I came second btw - a whisker away from becoming a two-time Grand Prix winner.

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: LIVE FINAL RAILING

busted 17th out of 37th, jammed Preflop from CO and ran in to the BB's Aces, no miracle board to save me. Great day out, was nice to put a face to a PL name :-) and have a chat with you guys. Everyone at the tourney was great, enjoyed the tourney and the company :-) Shame no bink! Stall3y you left without your payment slip! but us PL guys knew who you are! so we told them and so keep an eye out in your winamax account for your prize! Sorry to bust you bud, had to Jam!
...Yep that was me you sent to the rail with my mighty Q2o not quite getting the better of your 88. Nice to meet you (although briefly), unlucky on the 17th, I thought you'd be going on to take it down after my generous contribution of about 12 chips ;) Congrats to stall3y on the big win - was on first table with you but didn't realise who you were till I looked at the photos tonight.

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: next leg Mon.25th Movember NLHE

For the record, I was one of those that won a second seat by winning two freerolls. Re the post quoted above, actually there was a reasonably significant incentive to play - the winner of each freeroll picked up €150 worth of Winamax tournament tokens. I can categorically confirm that I did not pass chips or cheat in any other way, as might be suggested in the post above - I did however make use of appropriately timed aggression against those who I knew were hunting for points - and that's the whole beauty of the format. I asked PP what would happen with my second seat, and they told me I could pass it on, and I have done. I was surprised that this was the ruling tbh, and was prepared to accept a different outcome. I see that for the next GP they have tightened up the rules and if a second seat is won, it goes down the league to the highest placed non seat winner which is probably about right. I actually tried to give my second seat to friends that I knew had played the GP series, but they had either already qualified, or were unable to make the live final. Looking forward to tomorrow - best of luck to those from this forum that have made it through.
just seen this for the record I was referring to the buy in and not the freerolls where I understand there were tickets added so yes there was no incentive to play the buy in as this would lead to passing chips and dumping ,,,where as freerolls I understand what u mean

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: LIVE FINAL RAILING For anyone waiting for prize money from the live final...I received mine paid in today along with an email saying I'd been paid my 'bonus'. So have a log in and see if you're still waiting. Also go it paid in cash even though I didn't specifically request it (thought it would be paid in tournament tickets by default?), I'm not bothered either way though, cash is always nice :)
