Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: next leg Mon.25th Movember NLHE Just my opinion ,but I dont think its right for someone whos qualified to play and take a seat away and give it to someone else, who possibly hasnt even played any of the games . Dont want to fall out with any one , just my opinion , and just keep this in mind if you want to get abusive I am former parachute regiment :-)

For those of us who just failed to qualify then its absurd that final seats could be given away to players who didn't even play and may not even be subscribers to pokerplayer mag. Should have been in the rules before the league started

There was no incentive to play if you already had qualified and its up to the poker mag n poker site to ensure that players cannot play if already qualified as would lead to passing chips ' date=' dumping etc etc[/quote'] Reply just received from Pokerplayer mag in response to an email I sent. Hi Kevan Thanks for the email We are aware of this discussion on some forums and we are in the process of dealing with it We will get back to you asap with an explanation Thanks Tim Farthing PokerPlayer

Nice one Al' date=' shame glceud had to drop out, hope he's OK[/quote'] I'm fine, it was the small matter of getting there from the Hebrides that was the problem. About the same price as getting to Vegas for most of you!

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: next leg Mon.25th Movember NLHE Seems I have qualified now as they are inviting top 25 so will see you there Al. Plus they are changing rules for next Grand Prix to avoid multiple winners giving seats away. See below Hi Kevan We've checked our Grand Prix terms and conditions and we realise that we didn't have anything in place to cover the situation of what happens if someone wins multiple seats to the Grand Final! But we do agree with your points, so the next Grand Prix will now have a new rule in place that each player can only win 1 Grand Final Seat. If someone wins 2 seats then their 2nd seat will automatically go to the next person on the leaderboard However, the very good news for this Grand Prix Final is that you have qualified because we have had some drop outs so are inviting the top 25 from the leaderboard. This means we can offer you a seat as you finished within the top 25 Please can you confirm your attendance asap?

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: next leg Mon.25th Movember NLHE I will be there. Easy for me only coming from Ipswich. Most will have finished by 8.0 or earlier. Hope the structure is better than last time. Only had 10k starting so became a bit of a donk fest pretty quickly.

However based on my last 2 Grand Prix finals won't need to worry about missing the train.

Re: Poker Player Mag. Grand Prix 8 / Winamax: next leg Mon.25th Movember NLHE Still waiting for the tourny structure for saturday. Would be nice to know the format. For anyone who busts early there's a £25 freezeout qualifier on saturday night to the Coral 30/30 which plays at Aspers second saturday of the month. £300 buyin with £30,000 guarentee.

For the record, I was one of those that won a second seat by winning two freerolls. Re the post quoted above, actually there was a reasonably significant incentive to play - the winner of each freeroll picked up €150 worth of Winamax tournament tokens. I can categorically confirm that I did not pass chips or cheat in any other way, as might be suggested in the post above - I did however make use of appropriately timed aggression against those who I knew were hunting for points - and that's the whole beauty of the format. I asked PP what would happen with my second seat, and they told me I could pass it on, and I have done. I was surprised that this was the ruling tbh, and was prepared to accept a different outcome. I see that for the next GP they have tightened up the rules and if a second seat is won, it goes down the league to the highest placed non seat winner which is probably about right. I actually tried to give my second seat to friends that I knew had played the GP series, but they had either already qualified, or were unable to make the live final. Looking forward to tomorrow - best of luck to those from this forum that have made it through.
