Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 Odds wise in the BSS there is not a lot that excites me, although the Pikeys away at Welling look a decent shout. On paper they should lose but with a new loan singing on he right side of defence (who was exciting Prem Scouts) he could be just the thing Angels need. With Wings slipping a few points recently a surprise result could be on the cards. Only 1/2 point only on it though for me.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 what about for the game Dorchester Town - Farnborough? Odd are dropping for the home side, but as I can see they have a lot of problems, 3 suspended players and some injures. Yes, I see that Farnborough are not playing good away from home, and recently they were in bad form, but the win in the weekend can give them some confidence, and also Dorchester has not scored goal in last 2 games. I will wait for other opinions?

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 Hitchin Town at home to Bedworth United (6/5 Marathon) This has the whiff of a must-win for Hitchin, and I wouldn't normally fancy them but they are looking much more competitive than a few weeks back, with Lewis Toomey and John Frendo forming an effective partnership up top, though the defence is a clearly a worry. Home performances have been better than the results suggest - successive defeats to Chesham, Barwell and Weymouth - and they did better at Frome than a 2-1 defeat suggests. Bedworth scored a great win over Bedford last week to keep their own mini-run going but they will be missing the excellent Mitchell Piggon and have also lost a couple of other bodies to seven-dayers in the past week. Incidentally, Bet365 have priced up Saturday's Chesham/Bedworth game, offering 6/5 Chesham - an even better price than this one.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 afc telford are in a mess, graham hyde has walked after saturdays latest defeat to macc, they didnt have a shot on target by all accounts and havent won for over 20 odd games since october, whoever takes the reins will be their fourth manager this season! so with gatesheads match tonight off they will be rested for wednesday and look value to take the points at 11-8

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 Guys what are your thoughts on Halifax vs Corby?.Halifax is a candidate for promotion while Corby for relegation.Halifax have already won twice in the last 2 years 5;1 and 4;2 so i think -1 can easily happen again. Gloucester City v Droylsden The situation is pretty much the same. The home team is not that close to the promotion but Droylsden is on the very bottom. They are awful home and especialy away.-1 handicap seems solid too. Luton-Hyde.After a bunch of wrong steps,14 points separate Luton from the playoffs. Now they host one of the worst teams in the divison who have scored 1 and conceded 16 in their last 6 games.Luton is undoubtedly ouf of form but they still should have enough to beat Hyde at home

Halifax v Corby is likely to be off from what I have read. I would hope we would be able to cover the handicap against Droylsden, but despite creating a lot of chances recently we haven't been the best at putting them away and it was only late on that we ended up scoring 4 on Saturday. We had chances at Boston last week but ended up losing 4-0 because they were better at taking them than we were. We are also down to the bare bones at the moment and with the games coming thick and fast that is always a worry. We are also one of the handful of teams to lose to them this season. Like I say I hope we cover it, but I don't think its a lump on job by any means. As for Luton good luck with that one. I know I have been opposing Hyde to great effect of late, but we have seen time and time again Luton struggle against the lesser sides in the league and I fully expect the Hyde players to rise their games for this one. As much as they should win I couldn't back Luton at 8/15 against anyone in the league.

That's a good shout, BG. They've also lost Jake Reid (on loan to Welling) and Jordan Rose (on loan to Alfreton). There's clearly some stuff going behind the scenes, but I think the departure of Hyde was probably the right decision - he was too much part of the Sinton regime to really mark a change. I think he should have gone with Sinton. But as you say, Gateshead are a decent play.

what about for the game Dorchester Town - Farnborough? Odd are dropping for the home side' date=' but as I can see they have a lot of problems, 3 suspended players and some injures. Yes, I see that Farnborough are not playing good away from home, and recently they were in bad form, but the win in the weekend can give them some confidence, and also Dorchester has not scored goal in last 2 games. I will wait for other opinions?[/quote'] A tricky one to call, though I wouldn't want to back Dorchester at the prices available. Farnborough deserved their win at Eastbourne, with a classic away performance - grab the goal and see what the opposition have to offer. There's no reason for them to do anything different tonight - team spirit is excellent and they're functioning pretty well in all departments. Dorchester's biggest problem - like Eastbourne's on Saturday - is up front. They were a fortunate to hang on against Boreham Wood with ten men for most of the second half, though they deserve credit for backs-to-the-wall spirit against a more fluent team. In the weekend thread I was speculating that they might have to go with the light-looking and untried forward line of Sam Malsom and Kieffer Moore, and that's what happened. Moore, indeed, limped off with a thigh injury and is a doubt for tonight, and Malsom didn't last much longer, being sacrificed for a defensive-minded player after the sending off. Their key forward Charlie Clough is still suspended and I'm guessing Ben Watson is still injured (he played no part on Saturday), so they'll probably have an equally makeshift feel as they did on Saturday. Boreham Wood are a better attacking unit than Farnborough, but it's hard not to see Farnborough getting the odd chance tonight. It's no bet for me, but there is probably most value in the X or the 2.

Droylsden have suddenly started undergoing the squad surgery that they should have booked themselves in for in December - the starting XI at home to Guiseley had six changes from the side that played Alty midweek, and there's a story that they've picked up John Grant this week. Indeed, they showed some improvement against Guiseley - though 'improvement' means losing 3-0 rather than 5-0. The problem of course is that they are trying to get newcomers to function as a team with hardly anything of the season left - this is a job for July not March. Even so, I have the feeling that they may be a touch of value at big prices in the weeks to come - 15/2 tonight is a sporting play and I'll be having an interest.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 A couple more takes tonight... Basingstoke Town at home to Maidenhead United (23/20 Marathon) With a win at Salisbury and what should have been a win at Welling under their belt, Basingstoke are in very good nick. They are also in decent form at home and they really should have the edge over a moderate Maidenhead side getting used to life after Alex Wall's departure - three straight defeats against decent sides, but Basingstoke are playing very much like a decent side at the moment. Gainsborough Trinity at home to Bradford Park Avenue (27/20 Marathon) I can't see the off the field issues with the ownership of the club causing too many problems for Trinity - a solid side who are playing some good stuff. BPA's run of wins has come against some of the weaker elements of the section, and before their 7-0 thrashing of Droyslden they lost five in a row away.

Given the racing is under threat I am not sure our game will go ahead tonight. There was a wind chill factor of -12. Is John Grant the same who played for Aldershot? They have signed him. Seems pointless to me though as they have little chance of staying up. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum

That's the one I believe. And I have to agree - utterly pointless. It might, however, create a bit of value in the weeks to come.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 Grimsby have two injury worries. Derek Niven (groin) is ruled out and Sean Pearson (knee) is 50/50. Andi Thanoj may continue in midfield in place of Niven, or Hull City midfielder Dougie Wilson could come into midfield. If Pearson is not ready then Tom Naylor will continue to partner Ian Miller in defence. Any other changes will be tactical/rotational as the managers try to keep the players fresh and pick a team which they feel with match Mansfield. Mansfield have striker Louis Briscoe back from injury, but he may struggle to start the game because of the form Mansfield are in. The Stags scored four games in an impressive win over Stockport in their last games. Win, lose, or draw, nothing will be decided tomorrow but defeat for Grimsby would make it difficult to win the league as it would leave Mansfield seven points above Town.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 11-13 Luton's troubles against lesser teams are well-documented...though I think this will be a good game for them. I'm on over 2.75 goals @ 2.05 @ 5dimes. Hyde haven't scored in 8 of 12 games in 2013, but their O/U are about 50 percent because they routinely concede 2 and 3 goals. On away they're 4-2 O/U in the new year, with a 5-15 goal differential. Here's something amazing about Luton...in 23 games against big dogs of roughly 4.0 or better, they've kept five clean sheets. Reading from the top of home games in which the odds have been biggest: Telford 0-1 Barrow 6-1 Braintree 2-3 Hyde (tonight) Nuneaton 2-0 Southport 3-1 Gateshead 2-2 Woking 3-1 Alfreton 3-0 Cambridge 3-2 Luton gets well tonight.

I got more well than Luton did, that's for sure. One draw out of three, and half the overs.
