Re: International Friendlies > 2013 USA should be a banker. Although it's not an A team, they are basically an MLS all-star team. Canada on the other hand looks like a TFC (worst team in MLS) testimonial game roster. I'm going to play around with a cheeky -1.75 HT AH @ B365 for 5.25. Also -1 HT AH is at 2.657 which also looks good value for what should be a safe bet. If you really want to play it safe, you can do a -1 FT AH as I don't think there is any USA can lose this.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Against Poland, a kind of Romania C will play. Internal players minus the players of Steaua (almost all Under-23). Steaua players were allowed to reunite with the foreigners only for the exhibition versus Australia because they are preparing the EL match. Usually the normal squad of Romania has a lot of players from Steaua, around 10. Don't take anything, these players didn't play together at all.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 I made one bet so far and that is over 2.5 goals between Sweden and Argentina. Will give more reasoning later but will start with saying this, how can it go under when you have players like Messi, Aguero and the tall one (Zlatan) in a match? When Sweden faced England in the autumn Zlatan totally dominated the pitch with one of the most beautiful goals of all times making it 4-2 to Sweden (or 4-2 to Zlatan to be more correct since he did all four of Swedens goals)

If you think there is a strong chance of over 2.5 goals, then this could be good value.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 I've taken a look at Scotland - Eesti game. Scotsmen now have a new coach in Strachan and will be eager to get some points for the FIFA ranking. Nevertheless, the new coach has stated that he won't risk any of the Celtic players. On the other hand Estonian team is competitive but is highly consisted of players playing in Russia and other northern coutries where the local championships have not started yet. There's not much value in 1.56 for straight home win but I'm wondering if -1AH is worth have a go.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Ireland -v- Poland Ireland play host to Poland in a friendly on Wednesday night in Dublin. This game was arranged out of the rapport and goodwill created between both sets of football fans at EURO 2012, and also becuase there is quite a large Polish diaspora living in Ireland. In fact, the last time Ireland played Poland in an international friendly in 2008, I was present at the match in Croke Park. That night there were at least as many Polish fans attending as there were Irish, and if anything there was a greater atmosphere for Poland than there was for Ireland. The fact is the Irish team of 2013 -v- the Irish team of 2008 is significantly weaker, and the squad assembled for this match with Poland is full of players who are out of form, inexperienced, unproven or not getting their game for their club team. Our first choice keeper (Kieran Westwood) is sitting on the bench at Sunderland. Our most capped player is John O'Shea, but otherwise in defence we have a whole host of awful players or unproven players. Paul McShane is playing with a successful Hull team this season, but he's not a good defender. Stephen Ward is having a horrific season. Ciaran Clark is part of a very inexperienced and leaky Villa team, and his confidence must be low. Greg Cunningham, Alex Pearce and Richard Keogh are all too inexperienced to be worth complementing. In midfield, it really isn't any better. Glen Whelan is the only player with experience. James McCarthy is our best young star at the moment, so that's a positive. James McClean has been found out in the Premiership and is less effective than this time a year ago, and his attitude is very questionable. Robbie Brady is talented and doing well with Hull, and should do well. Wes Hoolahan is also an excellent player but inexperienced, while Jeff Hendrick is uncapped. Up front we have plenty of options, but none of the options are of a standard that will set us apart. Robbie Keane is not involved - therefore Kevin Doyle is our most experienced striker. He is having an absolutely horrid season for Wolves. Jonathan Walters and Shane Long are our two best strikers, and hoepfully they will start. Simon Cox and Andy Keogh are average replacements. Conor Sammon... is awful and I hope he doesn't get some time - but he will I would imagine. All in all, this team is a far cry from Ireland teams of old. There is no longer any Shay Given, Richard Dunne, Damien Duff or Robbie Keane. This team lacks any form of stand-out, outstanding footballers. Even Aiden McGeady is missing. At best, Ireland can hope for a solid performance, and a draw. There is no way they will beat this Polish team. I don't have much to comment on this Polish team, because I don't really have enough information or knowledge in order to analyse - but the individual quality of their team speaks volumes in comparison to Ireland. Robert Lewandowski, Jakub Błaszczykowski, Ludovic Obraniak, Łukasz Piszczek and Wojciech Szczęsny are all much better footballers than any footballer Ireland have at present. I know they are a good organised team too, and will therefore match Ireland at the very least in midfield. They have a new coach who will want to use this game to experiment for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, while they will as a collective unit be motivated to put on a performance for the many Polish football fans who will attend this game on Wednesday. All in all, I think the value available is excellent. I really don't understand why Ireland are favourites for this game. There is nothing to suggest this group of Irish players are going to perform like the old Trapattoni teams, and the same questions surround the dressing room, behind the scenes as in the last few World Cup qualifiers. There is still a of question marks over the trust now held between the players and Trapattoni, and with this unknown it strengthens my belief that Poland should at least draw this game. Therefore a medium stakes pick is well worth it in this instance. My pick: Poland +0AH @ 2.21 odds with Pinnacle

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Thought the price on Romania against australia was very big now out to 2.6. But have found out romania are not at home the game is taking place in Malaga Spain. I dont really rate the Aussies they are in a similar situation to Ireland rebuilding but now on a downward trajectory after losing Cahill Harry Kewell and a few other older players. Poland looks a very good call. Price is starting to drift on ireland now. All depends on the team news for Poland looking at the respective squads I was surprised on paper how good Poland are and how bad ireland look.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Azerbaijan vs Liechtenstein Under 2.5 @ 1.87 (12Bet) 6/10 This is a classic match-up for a low scoring game in my opinion. Both teams are used to ultra-defensive football to give them a better chance against the stronger nations, and as a result they are not very good at scoring goals, but they are actually not too bad defensively...unless they are playing Germany, Spain etc. If you look at similar match-ups for either team, you will see a huge amount of unders games, including the last two head-to-heads between these two sides. To give an example, Azerbaijan could only manage a 0-0 draw with Andorra recently. Berti Vogts is their manager and he has done well to keep them tight at the back, but as this result suggests they are not very good going forward. They are 1.4 here which is too short really, as Lietch. are not that bad and the game is played at a neutral venue, in Dubai. This to me increases the chance of unders. In my experience these neutral games are most often incredibly drab affairs, probably because there are no fans there to inspire the teams to go forward. Expect lots of substitutions and a 0-0, 1-0 or 2-0 scoreline.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013

I've taken a look at Scotland - Eesti game.
RE Scotland This being Strachan's first game in charge you can rest assured the players will do their best to be there instead of pulling out injured as often happens with international friendlies. The squad should not be effected by 'no unecessary risks taken with the Celtic players'. Chris Commons, Scott Brown, James Forrest and Charlie Mulgrew have been named with Commons and Brown the only regular starters and we have quality cover for them in the likes of Charlie Adam and Jamie Mackie or Steven Naismith. Scotland seldom win by 3+ goals, the only sides we've cleared this margin against is minnows such as San Marino and the Faroe Islands sides which on paper should be worse than Estonia. 3 possible ways to back Scotland are: -1 AH @2.05, dutch to win by 1 or 2 goals @1.87 or ht/ft @2.5. Estonia have a fair number 3-0/4-0 defeats on record so without Estonian input it's hard to tell what margin would be the better option. If the Estonian players are not in mid-season then they could take some time to get into the game and Scotland leading ht/ft could be of interest.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 France-Germany Germany with a Mixed-Team. Götze, Schweinsteiger, Schmelzer and Klose are out. They will not play. Also Bender L. is doubt. And Headcoach Löw will put Adler for Neuer in Goalkepper Position. Since 1990 these teams played 6 times and never Germany win. Last year in February this game also was in Bremen and France win. They was the better team and i think France Odds are good. So for me: France AHC0 @ 1.95 4pts. pinn

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 The Fifa website shows venues for games. They show the city, not the country - so some knowledge of geography helps. - http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/results/ The soccerway website also shows venue cities, but you have to click on each game to find out - http://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2013/02/06/ Looking down the lists, a lot of tomorrow's friendlies are on neutral grounds. I suppose if you think that some punters, or even bookies, don't realise this, there might be value on the 'away' team.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Spain v Uruguay over 2,5 @1,95 3/10 Spain and Uruguay match between two teams with enough offensive potential Spain will have significant absences for this match Xavi, Xabi, Casillas I think being a friendly match will not defend 100% and created many times If players come to play as Isco he tried everything to please the coach to continue counting for upcoming games And everyone knows Uruguay the lead that has ....... :hope

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 4pts Brazil to beat England 7/5 Betfred England are very much in a transitional period anyway but even with that they’ve had some significant injury drop outs for this game. Brazil’s friendlies are more competitive than normal these days with their lack of competitive football having automatically qualified for the World Cup as hosts and I expect them to take this very seriously. With England missing a few in attack the Brazil defensive frailties might not be so apparent here whereas their attack can carve open the English defence at any opportunity. I like the Brazil win here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/england-vs-brazil-betting-brazil-can-be-party-poopers-at-the-fa-s-150th-anniversary-bash

Defour is injured and Fellaini is doubtful for this match. Benteke and Lukaku will play each a half time.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 4pts Spain vs Uruguay - Over 2.5 goals Evs Coral Uruguay aren’t going too well in their qualifying campaign for next year’s World Cup so Oscar Tavarez will be hoping his side find some fluency in this match. In fairness it isn’t going forward they are having problems it is at the back where they have been leaking goals like a sieve which isn’t ideal when facing a side as good as Spain. Spain too are capable of conceding goals so I expect to see a few goals in this game even allowing for the heat and the fact it is a friendly. Re: International Friendlies > 2013 3pts Wales to beat Austria 19/10 Coral These are two out of form sides meeting here but I fancy Wales might show a bit more with Bellamy and Collison back. In Gareth Bale the Welsh have the best player on the pitch and if Ashley Williams and his defensive colleagues can keep Villa’s Andreas Weimann quiet then there is definitely a win for the Welsh in this one. With the likes of Collison, Bale and Ramsey all capable of scoring from midfield Wales carry the bigger goal threat and can sneak this one. Re: International Friendlies > 2013 5pts Scotland vs Estonia - Under 2.5 goals 8/11 Stan James Scotland look a bit short to me here especially when we consider they only just beat Luxembourg last time out and I’m not a backer of them at 4/7 even though I would strongly expect them to win. Instead I think the best bet could be under 2.5 goals. Scotland don’t generally score many but they don’t concede a whole lot either and with the potential for a slow and steady start to Strachan’s reign given what has gone before I very much see this having less than 3 goals in it. Re: International Friendlies > 2013 3pts Poland to beat Republic of Ireland 2/1 Bet365 I think Poland are quite a tidy side these days and I wouldn’t rule out them nicking this match. Ireland were exposed massively against Germany recently and while the Pole’s aren’t in the class of Germany it does show that you can now score on this Ireland side. I’m not convinced by Connor Sammon at this level and the Irish might struggle to test the Polish defence. Ireland were beaten at home by Greece last time out and I think they are there to be beaten by Poland too. Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Norway v Ukaine Weds 6th Feb 17.00 Seven of Norway's last ten games and eight of Ukraine's last ten games have been under 2.5 goals. The last four games between these two sides have been unders. (Source: soccerway) It's always dangerous to put too much faith in past form, but the statistics do suggest there is a good chance that this game will have under 2.5 goals. Under 2.5 goals @ 1.71 with Betfair looks attractive

I am an Estonian, but I haven't followed Estonian NT that much to be honest. One thing I can tell you, tough, is that Estonia only has 1-2 natural central midfielders in the team for tomorrow. So it's gonna be interesting to see how they hold up in the midfield.

Re: International Friendlies > 2013

Ireland -v- Poland (...) I don't have much to comment on this Polish team, because I don't really have enough information or knowledge in order to analyse - but the individual quality of their team speaks volumes in comparison to Ireland.
Match against Ireland is kind of dry run before a very important match against Ukraine in WC2014's eliminations. This match should give an answer how strong is Polish national team. Euro2012 was a big defeat, supporters expected promotion from group and big fight against Germany in QF but Poland didn't win any match and Euro was finished after group stage. After Euro2012 Poland played quite good (2:2 Montenegro away, 2:0 Moldova home, 1:0 RSA home, 1:1 England home) but match against Uruguay (1:3 home) was kind of disenchantment. Wins against Macedonia (4:1) and Romania (4:1) aren't important because both teams played without bet players. Today Polish coach Fornalik has two important questions: goalkeeper and right defender. There are 3 goalkeepers in team - Szczesny (Arsenal), Boruc (Southampton) and Tyton (PSV). Tyton sits on bench so only Boruc and Szczesny are considered as line up player. Szczesny was polish first goalkeeper recently but his form isn't as good as was few months ago. He still plays every match in Arsenal but supporters expect him better playing. Boruc was some troubles with finding new club after leaving Fiorentina. Now he is in Southampton and plays really good. His best part of career was in Celtic Glasgow where he was a star and plays very good (matches against Milan in Champions League). GB is good place for him and I thnk moving to Italy wasn't good idea. I believe Boruc will reach his best form in England and again will be number one in national team. I think today Szczesny will be in line up but probably Boruc will play second half. Boruc is kind of player that doesn't like sitting on bench. He has strong personality and wants to be number one everywhere he plays. Normally in Poland right side is for Dortmund's players - Piszczek and Blaszczykowski. Together they play really good and cooperate well with striker Lewandowski. Today Polish trio from Dortmund can't show their skills because Piszczek is injured. I think it's real problem because there isn't a good replacement for him. Sometimes on right side of defence played Wasilewski (Anderlecht) and played quite good but he is central defender and sits on bench in Brussels. His form is poor and I afraid of his poor performance. Coach Fornalik called up Lukasz Broz (Widzew Lodz). He plays well in Polish league but I don't think he is good enough to play on international level. Other positions on pitch aren't doubtful so much. Line up: ____________Boruc/Szczesny_________ Wasilewski/Broz__Glik__Perquis__Boenisch ______Krychowiak_______Borysiuk_____ Blaszczykowski__Obraniak__Mierzejewski _____________Lewandowski__________ Supporters look forward to performance of few players who recently plays well in clubs (Boenisch, Krychowiak, Borysiuk, Mierzejewski). I don't know how will play Obraniak. He plays good in club and he is a good player but doesn't show this in national team. He says that players and supporters have a go at him for French speaking (he doesn't speaks Polish) and he feels unsupported. Yesterday Zbigniew Boniek (Polish FA boss, former star of Juventus) says that he talked to Obraniak and everythink is ok. We will see... I agree with MaierhofersNeck's pick. Poland +0AH @ 2.21

Re: International Friendlies > 2013 Louis Van Gaal has given his line-up for the friendly match against Italy He will start with a lot of young, inexperienced players. Line-up: Krul (4 caps), Janmaan (3 caps), De Vrij (2 caps), Martens Indi (6 caps), Blind (0 caps), Clasie (2 caps), Maher (2 caps), Strootman (15 caps), John (0 caps), Lens (8 caps) and Van Persie (71 caps) Like I said, very inexperienced players except Strootman and Van Persie. On the other side Italy will play with their typical team except for some changes Line-up: Buffon, Abate, Barzagli, Astori, Pirlo, De Rossi, Montolivo, El Shaarawy, Balotelli It will not be easy for Italy but the odd is to high if you watch this line-ups Italy @ 3.15 (Betfair)
