Re: Championship > Sat 15th December Thankyou Iolanthe, I think I went 4-2 on the overs and 2-1-1 on the sides, in Championship. This week I only like one side Crystal Palace but I havent shopped odds yet. The price is too steep on Cardiff. Looking at 3 games to go over 2.5 goals Blackpool-Blackburn, Bristol City-Derby and Burnley-Watford. Also looking at 5 potential draws as I have 5 games being draws, Blackpool-Blackburn, Bolton-Charlton, Burnley-Watford, Millwall-Leicester, and Barnsley-Sheffield Wednesday.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December bolton v charlton pick charlton +0.5 1.99 bolton still below par since freedman took over, failing to hold onto leads. Go against a charlton team showing good recent form and play better away from home. I think charlton have clearly a better then 50% chance of drawing or winning this which the bookies odds suggest. burnley v watford pick watford +0.25 1.89 burnley struggling for form and goals and even now form at home. since new manager came in they've become more defensive and its had an effect on their attack. both teams coming of defeats but watford were showing good form and scoring plenty until they had a bad first half v hull. they should have their star striker forestieri back in team and abdi from start which will make a difference from team v hull. with forestieri in team watford record 7-3-3 and without 3-0-5, possible key impact player status. I think this is a 50/50 game with maybe watford having an edge, so the +0.25 line and 1.89 odds offerd for watford show good value.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December

Sry im new ..what means +0.25 .....sry one more time for this
I think it's an Asian Handicap bet. It means HALF the bet is +0 and HALF +0.5. So if the team wins, both half bets win, so it's 'win'. If the team backed draws, the +0 half is drawn (stake returned) and the +0.5 half wins, so it's 'half win'. Hope that makes sense.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December millwall v leicester pick millwall +0.25 1.88 millwalls unbeaten run came to and end last week v ipswich, millwall didnt take their early chances and had a good goal dissalowed and came up against a resurgent ipswich who had great confidence and momentum for home games. Now millwall play leicester at home , leicester have been caught ou against strong physical midfields lately liek barnsley and leeds, and are weakest in midfield. I think millwalls midfield can take advantage of leicesters short falls in midfield and have a good chance of getting a result in this game. Plus leicesters results away have notb been that good this season or lately where they have won once in 5 away v sheff wed. I think this is a 50/50 games with maybe millwall having an edge with having nearly a first choice team back now. so the +0.25 ahc line and 1.88 odds offerd have good value.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December

Have Wolves turned it around after back to back wins? Middlesbrough nursing quite a few injuries ahead of the weekend....... http://www.mfc.co.uk/page/news/latest/0,,1~3008502,00.html?
Middlesbrough have such a strong squad and woodgate will come back in. None of the injuries are really to players that are irreplaceable. So i think evens Boro at home is a decent price.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December Im not sure if this question is directed towards me, but I think every team maybe with the exception of Peterborough have a chance to score this weekend. The predicted score is on the far right. I like 3 games to go over Blackpool-Burnley, Bristol City-Derby, and Burnley-Watford.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December No side are currently on a longer unbeaten run in the Championship than Blackpoool (seven games). Michael Appleton now has a bit of momentum building and they can start turning draws into wins. They had the better of the game in there last match against palace and really should have won, confidence is building. Blackburn have won just six points in the eight games since Henning Berg was named as their manager (W1 D3 L4). This is relagation form and although they have rhodes who is a prolific striker the team looks disjointed lately, blackpool med stakes.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December Bristol City +0. (AH) v Derby @ 2.15 bet365 (3 points) Its perhaps a bit risky taking City here considering how poor they seem to be but I think they have a chance to get the 3 points in this match. Derby are doing well this season and have been excellent at home. Their away form really isn't very good though and I wouldn't make them favourites in any away match even against a bottom side like Bristol. The Rams have lost 4 of their last 5 away matches winning 1 against an Ipswich side who were shocking at the time. The only other away match they have won this season was at Forest who had a man sent off in that match. On that sort of form I can't have them as favourites for this match. The news that centre half Jake Buxton is out injured for a few months is also a major blow for Derby. Bristol are having a shocking season and they are conceding far too many goals. There are some signs of improvement though albeit inconsistent, with them picking up recent away wins at Middlesbrough and Sheff Wednesday. What I like about them though is the fact they are still scoring goals. They bagged 3 in each of those away wins. If you can keep scoring then you are in with a chance and they are coming up against a Derby side who are poor on the road. With the draw cover and at odds against I think City are worth a play to finally pick up another home win.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December Barnsley +0 (AH) v Sheff Wednesday @ 1.80 Bet365 (3 Points) Im slightly wary of backing 2 teams at the bottom this week but with the draw cover I'm willing to go with it. I'm also wary about opposing Wednesday with them having lost 7 on the bounce. It might sound daft but they aren't going to keep losing every single match and a bottom of the table derby could be a good opportunity for them to get back on track. But you can only go off what's in front of you and the fact is this Wednesday side have got big problems. They haven't got a striker who is scoring regularly and Dave Jones went out and brought in mama sidibe on loan. A baffling decision on many levels not least because he wasnt a big scorer even in his prime. But with his injury record and lack of matches in the last few years it was a strange throw of the dice when there must have been so many other options out there. I know it's only 1 thing but it's just a small example of what's going wrong there. Barnsley are also struggling badly this season. But in Davies they at least have someone who can score goals. A Lot of their performances haven't actually been too bad but they have struggled to convert performances into points. Keith Hill has at least gone out and brought a few players on on loan though. They are nothing special but they have added to their side bringing in experience in Greening, goals in Tudgay and a bit of pace in Sinclair. They were unfortunate not to hang on for the win away at Leicester last week which would have been a brilliant result. Its a crucial match and a bit of a derby to boot but I'm going to side with Barnsley who I think have the slight edge in terms of performances, home advantage and new players. This could be the game to end Wednesdays dire run of 7 losses in a row but equally it could be number 8 and the match that sees Jones's term as manager come to an end.

Bristol City V Derby County Bristol City +0.25 @ 83/100 (Pinnacle) 1 Unit Agree with Wisey on this one, I feel the Bristol City price is too long here for a number of reasons. First off, Bristol City do indeed have a very weak defense, no-one has conceded more at home this season, 25 in total thus far. I don’t think City’s defensive problems are gonna clear up over night due to a lack of quality in that area but Derby don’t look like the team to exploit this. The Rams have been heavily reliant on their home form to maintain a top half position with their away record looking much more tepid, particularly their attack. Derby have only scored 8 goals on their league travels in 2012-2013, only Ipswich have scored less away goals in the Champ with 7 but their tally can still be attributed to a condition known as ‘Jewell Lag’. City’s 2-3 victory at Wednesday last week is massive psychologically, they’ve hauled themselves out of the relegation zone on goal difference and the fixture machine has fired out some promising games for the month of December handing City an opportunity to climb the table further. The likes of Danns and Bates are good additions to the side imo, they’re starting to settle in and this can only help City’s cause further. One other point I would make is I think the Bristol City board are very much supportive of manager Derek McInnes which I believe is the correct posture despite the misgivings of many City fans. McInnes is a decent manager imo and I believe he is the right man for the job at Ashton Gate. A lack of personnel quality in defensive areas is the main issue rather than a problem with the coach. Normally I’d wait for the full team news tomorrow but I’m worried the +0.25 line might not make it through the night so I am going to take a risk and pull the trigger now. The price on Bristol City presents a bit of an opportunity in my view and one I’d regret not taking if the home side manage to pick up a positive result here.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December 3pts Sheffield Wednesday to beat Barnsley 2/1 Betfred It is fair to say this derby could well have come at the right time for both sides. I say that because form usually goes out of the window in a derby and both sides can forget all their troubles and look to get one over their rivals and secure the bragging rights. If that happens then this should come down to who the better side is and I think that is Wednesday. They showed that with their start to the season and I see no reason why they can’t show it again here. Re: Championship > Sat 15th December Draw/Cardiff @ 4 seems a decent price for anyone looking for an angle in that match. Posh have gone in level in their last five away matches, and lost three of those. Obviously Cardiff are 100% so far at home, but needed a late winner against second bottom Sheffield Wednesday in their last home match. Cue a Cardiff goal-fest :lol

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December Agree with those on Bristol City in some form or another, we're really quite poor away from home. Dont score and ship a lot of goals. Buxton being out isnt really a major blow, as he's been part of the defence conceeding a lot of goals on the road. He's very average, and whether O'Brien or O'Connor come in, they're both arguably better than Buxton. Bristol City havent won in something like 8 games at home, and we've lost our last 4 on the road so it should be an interesting game. The fact that Bristol City have got goals in them is the selling point for backing them, cos even though they're poor at the back, we're equally as poor on our travels but we fail to create or score enough.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December

Have Wolves turned it around after back to back wins? Middlesbrough nursing quite a few injuries ahead of the weekend....... http://www.mfc.co.uk/page/news/latest/0,,1~3008502,00.html?
We may have turned it around with the wins against Bristol City and Blues (the latter of which we looked really impressive in the 2nd half), but don't forget Wolves are struggling with injury problems of their own. David Edwards has been ruled out for the entire Christmas schedule with a hamstring injury and today Razak Boukari has suffered a setback with his troublesome hamstring (not that he's been involved in the past 3 months anyway). Doumbia is apparently being "nursed" through training as he battles with fatigue, so our midfield will have to be careful not to be over run by Middlesborough's strong midfield. Grant Leadbitter would be an important miss if he was injured for tomorrow's game. Personally, I think the best we can hope for is a draw out of the game so we'll see how it goes.

Re: Championship > Sat 15th December hull v huddersfield pick huddersfield +1.0 1.65 first choice hull defender mcshane will not be playing today, the last time in september he didnt play hull lost 2 and won 1 game and conceded 8 goals and also didnt play during a lucky win v brightonb and a loss v blackburn in september, so going by those results he's an important key player and will be missed alot. Huddersfield are quite a good team when they have all their first choice team players fit and playing, which they more or less have now, which they havent recently which is the reason for their recent bad run. But now with a good first choiuce team playing and their good away record they should be a more tyen match for hull, well a lot better then the bookies odds suggest. Hull have been on a good run but havent beaten a team by 2 goals for quite a while so I've gone consertive and taken the +1.0 ahc line with 1.65 odds for huddersfield which should be an excellent value conservative bet.

strange...one player does not play and and now this type of. I looked through the stats from the last game Hull at home and it does not look bad. Hudd's not in the best shape, after a successful start to the season clearly swoop. I'm counting on Hull but the "aco". GL

strange??? howz it strange? he's a key player, hulls record is better when he plays compared to when he hasnt played. my reasoning has not much to do with how hulls stats "looked" when they last played at home.
