Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March Shalke 04 vs Twente The return of the 1/8 finals Europa League, which will see Schalke welcoming dutch side Twente. The match promises to be interesting. Recall that the first game was held in Netherlands, Twente won 1-0. Schalke looked very good throughout the meeting and lost by the only goal from the penalty spot, which, according to a very large number of specialists was not penalty. Moreover, the judge appointed a penalty, also removed Shalke player, Joel Matip. Due to red card the player will not be able to participate in the return game, it's only loss at Schalke. Twente is in very decent shape. This is particularly reflected in the domestic championship. Many football fans who follow the team and football in general, are very interested in how much more time team from the Netherlands will remain at such a high level of play. In the Europa League Twente have been misfiring in the games on the road, was a draw with Fulham (1:1) and losing not very strong polish team Wisla Krakow(1:2). Generally, it is traditionally strong Schalke home, with support from their home fans. They drive the team forward from the first minutes, this is telling the results that they showed in home games during the tournament and previous two games from Bundesliga against Wolfsburg and Hamburg, hosts were leading by 3-0 after first 30 minutes. Therefore, I believe that Schalke still achieve the desired outcome for themselves and why not, break through to the quarterfinals. Offer to play victory, Shalke 04 at 1.80 Betsson.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March Olympiakos vs Metalist Kharkov Before the first match Metalist was considered the undisputed favorite, because before that, they have not lost in EL - 7 wins and only one draw. However, the rose colored glasses had to be removed in the first match with the greeks. Who had previously opposed the Metalist in this competition? Malmo, or Sochaux? Well, in general, second rated teams (Red Bull Salzburg too). One was a more or less serious rival - dutch AZ Alkmaar, but Metalist could not beat them, a draw home and away. Today, they will face a team that flew out of the Champions League, Olympiakos Athens. And in that same Champions League whipping boys they looked, Olympiakos had 3 losses and 3 wins. And look at the contenders: Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal. Not Red Bull Slazburg. Olympiakos, among other things, at home won 3-1 Arsenal and 3-1 Borussia Dortmund. With all due respect to Metalist - the greeks had stronger rivals. Playing in Greece is extremely difficult. The fans are very emotional, support stands just crazy. And then there's Olympiakos, as evil, has been very successful, but because the audience for the match will go. Season with the greeks is in full swing, so that Olympiakos is now in perfect shape to attack Europa League. As for losses, for Metalist now just will not play defeder (disqualified) Admar (19/3) and striker Cristaldo. At Olympiakos, according to preliminary data, no missings. I think that Olympiakos at home will win, again, against another eastern european side (after two wins previously round over russian Rubin Kazan). Olympiakos 1.91 Bet365

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March Good to see both my picks on the Manchester clubs have shortened. This gives a bit of value on a William Hill match winner for both Manchester clubs to Qualify at 6/1, Odds before 4.250 * 1.600 =6.8, with a little bit of value though not enough to get involved and to cover the bookies margin in odds. Has shortened now to 3.970 * 1.530 = 6.08 = just over 5/1. Odds closer to the even are usually a much better representation of the true odds, with more information floating around. Both Manchester Clubs to qualify 6/1 0.5/10 William Hill

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March I'm back ! and decided to chuck a £20 treble today... I've done ALOT of research n sat here for a good few hours planning this. n I'm hoping I've got this bet correct WILLIAM HILL 15 Mar 2012 - Man City v Sporting Lisbon - To Qualify Man City @ 1.44 15 Mar 2012 - Hannover v Standard Liege - Match Handicaps Hannover -1 goal @ 2.50 15 Mar 2012 - Schalke 04 v Twente - Both Teams To Score Yes @ 1.67 Stake : £20.00

Estimated Returns : £ 120.37 REASONING , Man city I'm just sure can get at least 1 goal at home and even if it goes to extra time they have the extra 30 minutes AND Penalties to quality. you must admit lisbon did get lucky in the last game even tho they did play better then expected. they struggled to get the 1 at home. so away will be even harder and even easier for city to get 1 at home. if not more than 1. so city to qualify hannover - were unlucky not to win away to standard, standard got a burst of 2 quick goals in 3 minutes during the full 90 i didn't see the game btu this shows they must have had a good 5 minutes. however hannover were away still managed 2 goals and have a big advantage with the away goals. so they should put this too bed pretty easily at home having a home record of 6-6-0 at home this season in there domestic league. :-) so hannover to win -1 handicap and shalke and twente btts. this is the best bet i can see for btts when looking into all of the games tonight. twente are a big team even tho they lost big last week. every big team loses once in a while doesn't mean they won't put up a fight here. shalke are 2.50 to qualify which shows they aint actually strong favs to win even tho the odds show different. so shalke being at home should score as normal. and twente will defo put up a fight and should at least have a better game then last and get a goal to hopefully see them qualify. so BTTS this is the 1st time I've given reasoning to my bets :-) what do you all think? and who's following me?

I like that. Hannover look like they've done the business for you. I don't see Man City not qualifying especially now Man Utd are looking like they're out. Don't know much about the Schalke Twente game but 2 teams capable of scoring goals. I went for over 2.5 myself. Good luck with that. I added you on Skype by the way.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March

Manchester United + 0.5 Asian Corner Handicap @ 1.9 - BET365. This is a judgement call more than anything. United have to attack pretty early on if they are to overturn the first leg deficit. Not only did they lose the home leg, but they also conceded three away goals, so obviously they need more than the one goal to progress. For that reason I think they'll be looking to get the ball down, maintain some possession, and plenty of attacking play from the off. They really underestimated Bilbao in the first leg. They're a side that United wouldn't normally encounter, they probably didn't know much about them, and were very complacent. I expect them to take this leg much more seriously.
Corners 5 - 5. Bet won. Surprised United couldn't get more corners, but they were completely outclassed on the night. Well done all other winners.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March

PSV v Valencia I see value in backing PSV corners at current prices. PSV tend to get a lot of corners, especially at home. Tonight, they start 4-2 down from the first leg, and will surely attack Valencia. PSV have averaged 6.44 corners per game in the Europa League so far. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2012/statistics/round=2000272/clubs/type=corners/index.html I think bearing in mind that they are at home tonight, chasing the game being 4-2 down, they are likely to get more than their average number. I think it is likely that they will get between 6 and 12 corners. The corner count in Valencia last week was 6-6, and if PSV can get 6 corners in Spain, they are likely to get more than 6 in Holland http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2012/matches/round=2000274/match=2007456/index.html The main dangers to this bet are if Valencia deny PSV enough possession to get many corners, or if PSV score early and get an aggregate lead, and then stop attacking and focus on defending their lead. PSV would need to score twice for an aggregate lead on away goals, and there is a risk of them scoring twice before they get many corners, but the risk seems fairly small. A number of bookmakers are offering generous odds on PSV corners. A conservative bet is: PSV Over 5 Corners 1.83 Paddy Power I think the odds on this should be nearer 1.5, so at 1.83 it offers good value. A higher risk one is: PSV Over 6 Corners 2.5 Paddy Power
Match result: PSV 1 Valencia 1 Corner count: 6-4 Main bet won :ok I saw most of the game. As I expected, PSV attacked early on. This resulted in them getting 4 corners in the first half. Valencia defended well and the half ended 0-0. Valencia scored early in the second half, putting them 5-2 ahead on aggregate. After that I expected PSV to push forward and get a lot more corners. But Valencia stepped up their game and kept possession pretty well Barcelona-style, which denied PSV the possession they wanted and limited their attacks and therefore their corners. PSV only got 2 corners in the second half, getting one goal but rarely looking like adding to it.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March

The Europa league is not a good place to put heavy stakes on, thus with modest bets on: Man Utd Qualification 4.350 average Pre com Betfair, 1.5/10
I'd expect City to get at Libson from the off. Kompany will be a miss, but I can see City Winning this without the need for a Clean sheet with their attacking prowess. City - 1.75 2.030 Pinnacle 5/10
Both Manchester Clubs to qualify 6/1 0.5/10 William Hill
-7 units overall What a comeback from City, Hart so nearly with the win. That really would have been a memorable moment! But City gave themselves too much to do in the first half.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 15 March

Hannover 96 v Standard Liege Jan Schlaudraff is back into the starting 11 for the home side. They took an excelent 2:2 away draw in the reverse fixture which makes them favourites to qualify. Hannover normally score a couple at home and I doubt they will approach this with a defensive mindset. They have already made history by reaching this stage of the competition for the first time ever and will be motivated in front of the 45 000 fans. Standard are talented but by no means exeptional. They have to win here and anything but goals means they are out. Over 2.5 goals @1.75 - PADDYPOWER For those of you who look for more "value" this should be priced @ evens if it stays 0:0 up until the 15th min. Schalke v Twente I also quite fancy Schalke to beat FC Twente in the later set of games this evening, for the reasons most of you already mentioned. The first leg should have been a 0:0 draw which is how Schalke have set out to play, but for a lucky penalty that never should have been awarded. Schalke score for fun at home and they could even cover the -1 handicap. Home win @ 1.75 is my bet on this one :)
Easy money or what :clap
