BBOTD 27Th Of October

Recommended Posts

14:20 Stratford Pumboo Win (2,38) PaddyPower After a long series of disappointing performance, the new trainer Brian Ellison got the best of Pumboo when, winning over the same distance and simular going in september. He followed up whit a second place, 10 days later. Pumboo gets an extra 6lb, for those runs but whit a field, below his recent form, that might not be enough. Trainer Ellison booked Twinston-Davies for this race and that might be a good call. The jockey are in great form, winning 25 % of his runs whitin the last 14 days. Pumboo recent form. 5-7-7-1-2

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October 3.40 Lingfield Night Lilly e/w 33/1 Ladbrokes This horse is back to a mark that I think she can be competitive off. I think she is a better horse on the all weather and has gone close at this level in the past when narrowly failing to reel in Agony and Ecstasy at Kempton. She travels well and Lingfield suits her running style.

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October Hip Hop - Kempton 6:30 Big shot in the dark here but i am sticking to this jockey today. Was rubbish on debut, finished tailed off but Brett Johnson has won 2 of his last 4 races and Dane O Neill has a good record at Kempton for the trainer with 5 wins and 6 places from 24 rides. The trainers last runner at the track won also so im hoping this horse somes on for the run and shows a bit more, but will be a huge price. E/W @ 500/1 Boylesports :lol:lol:lol

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October 520 Stratford: Lucky Lukey (2/1 VCBet, Hills) This horse was poor last season when with Richard Ford and was given a very low rating, switched to a decent yard and he finfds himself extremely well handicapped. A win at Hereford was followed by an unlucky second at Sedgefield when the winner got first run. Made amends next time at Uttoxeter when winning with a bit in hand, Gone up 9lbs and still looks capable of beating this weak field.

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October 6:00 Kempton - Snowed In - Back Has a really huge chance here. All bar one of today's opponents are dreadfully out of firm, with only Priestley's Reward threatening to win a race any time recently. Snowed In has won 2 of his last 4 starts and both of those came on the AW. He won well lto and this trip seems to hold no concerns. Looks a 2 horse race but I expect Snowed In to do it relatively well 1pt win @ 5/6 Hills BOG

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October 3.40 Lingfield A listed event with a few that have something to prove! Jacqueline Quest is the clear best on official ratings but has shown plenty of attitude and looks well worth opposing. Mosqueras Romance doesnt have much to prove unlike Zoowra who has to prove she handles the surface aswell as proving she has trained on. Mosqueras was runner up in 3 listed events on polytrack and again on the turf aswell, had a light season to date and comes here fresher than most with just a run in Germany finishing second at this level which should have put her spot on, does little wrong in races and attitude not a concern despite all the 2nd and is surely only a matte of time before she picks one up. 1pt win Mosquearas Romance 9/2 bet365

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October Night Lily - Lin 3.40 (e/w 33/1 LAD BOG) I'm with cpo today on Night Lily, who proved she was up to Listed class on the A-W when runner-up at Kempton in April. Wasn't so good in a couple of Kempton handicaps since, but 33/1 seems much too big for such a proven A-W mile specialist. (Incidentally, Ladbrokes are offering 1/4 the odds for a place, although obviously that doesn't count for BBOTD purposes.)

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October Strat 4.20 - Five Star Wilsham - win at 11/8 bog wm hill This looks like a 2 horse race on paper and I'm going to take on the current odds on favourite with the second favourite Sybarite is the favourite for the Twiston-Davies camp. He could well be a classy type and he's higher rated than my selection. He ran in Grade 1 and 2 races last year. My doubt is the trip - his only win was at 16 furlongs and he just seemed not to be getting home in longer races, albeit in better company. He's making his seasonal debut which isn't a problem with the T-D yard, but if he's not quite 100% I think he might struggle with the trip My selection gets the trip no problem and has more experience than the fave, having spent last season running in the big class 2 handicap hurdles. He runs ok fresh and the yard are in form with their last 2 runners having won Both horses make their chase debuts which adds a nice tinge of uncertainty.............:loon

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October SHABORA 1.40 Lingfield. 0.5 points each way. Pleasing debut, and although a tad to find with Strathnaver, I think he will find enough and get involved in the finish today. Trip and surface aren't of any concern and all about how much improvement he finds. I think he'll find enough and have the race run to suit. 7/1 Victor Chandler BOG

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October Blackwell Synergy - 3.45 Clonmel 1pt win 5/1 VC If anyone watched Gormanstown Cuckoo bolt up at Aintree on Saturday they couldn't but have been impressed. On his last run Blackwell Synergy had Gormanstown Cuckoo in behind in what looked a very decent race about 6 weeks ago. That was in similar conditions to today's race (3m on soft ground). Blackwell Synergy was a real eyecatcher that day and finished full of running. With the rain we've had in Ireland today's conditions will be a real test of stamina and he certainly appeared to see out the 3m in soft conditions well that day. Hopefully Davy Russell will ride him close to the pace - judging by Punchestown yesterday prominent horses dominated and I suspect it will be similar at Clonmel today. Your Busy and Datokepe are two of the main market rivals and all their best form is on firm ground so conditions should suit Blackwell Synergy. He has been put up 4lbs for his last run but he's very lightly raced and is up to winning a race of this nature.

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October 1:40 Lingfield - So Cheeky - 1pt @ 22/1 (VC) This mightn't be the test that Richard Hannon's unraced juvenile filly will be after in the long term but she could be anything and there's a bit of hope through her pedigree that she could be a live 2 year old. 22/1 looks big given who she represents and I'll take a punt in the dark in the hope that she's better than the market currently suggests.

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October Made all last time out and even todat with a 5lb rise i cant really see anything in the race that will give her that much of a fight. If anything does come upside her she has already shown in her last race she can battle and today she must run a close race. She's still lightly raced having only the 12 starts under her belt and maybe now and going on her last run the penny has dropped and she's now worked out this game we call horse racing. Clonmel 3:15 - Ta Blazes. 0.5 e/w bet at 10/1 Bet365. Best of luck in yur day Mr.

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October Don't know about anyone else but I'm done with betting on the flat till next year. Think its extremely tough now and form is not holding up. Take Medal of Valour at Lingfield - I didn't back him but on all known form he should have been right in the mix but he ran a stinker. Same story yesterday when I backed Ampleforth and he's still running. Plus I just noticed that on BOTD this month I've had a terrible run with my flat selections but the 3 jumper I put up all won. Pity I didn't notice this earlier.

Re: BBOTD 27Th Of October 8.30 Kempton - 1pt win Rodrigo De Freitas @ 12/1 (Bet365) This fella has a poor strike rate, but this represents a drop in class, and if he can prove he stays the trip well enough to score, he looks overpriced. Since the visor was applied, he's run sound enough in better races than this, and has shaped as if 12f on a good surface would prove ideal. His run last time out at the track was solid in the context of this race, and I think he'll prove to be in the mix. His draw isn't ideal, but Tom Queally is 1-1 on the horse, he has a profitable relationship with Jim Boyle, and he looks off a fair mark.

I think all my jumps picks have won this month as well, about 6 of them I don't normally look at the jumps but I just got fed up of looking at the flat cards and seeing race after race of 15 to 20 runners and having no enthusiasm to spend hours studying them all...............:loon I think in future I'll definately move away from the flat for maybe mid-September onwards apart from the big races. For the everyday fare around the gaffs I reckon it's a punters nightmare....
