Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH yarnmouth 1620 smifys silver 1pt win SP prices arnt avialble yet gutted has won at yarmouth before and but has never won at this distance and has never raced over this distance. due to what i have seen of this horse who is very lightly races last year and this, has a nice kick from 2f to go mark, turn of foot as they call it is very good but not really in any form this year but step down in trip should help this horse.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 18.05 Sligo Rattan - 1pt win @ SP Rattan should win here well to get hes second win over hurdles has the best form on offer in this short field and all the other runners look to have to much to do with the penaltys and Rattan will be very much the one to beat

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 4:10 Haydock - Seattle Drive - 1pt @ 10/1 (WillHill) Doubts over this horse getting a race run to suit worries me but he's clearly got ability and comes here on the back of very good effort in which things didn't favour him. A solid pace (which may not occur) would be a massive help and if he gets to run at it, there's a fair chance he'll be fighting out the finish. The owner is 2-8 at this track and Jamie Spencer is a fairly eye-catching booking. The yard are also in fine form of late and make a 360 mile round trip to run just one animal. I think they've a lively contender on their hands here and he shouldn't be the outsider of this competitive field. Regardless of whether he wins today, he'll be worth following and should have further improvement to come over 1m 2f or possibly longer. 10/1 is a nice price today though and hopefully he'll go well.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 1 point win clare island boy 15.40 haydock 3/1 bet365 a tight 3 runner contest i will go with clare island boy to beat basantee and the prob odds on fav brocklebank into second and 3rd respectivly, clare island boy won a class 5 contest over this 7 furlong distance just over 2 weeks ago but ran on bravely to beat an 11 runner field leading from start to finish so if can set the pace tommorrow should have a good chance, brockelbank is not tried over this distance and was 21st of 23 last time out but that was a class 1 race a big drop here.i think clare island boys main danger might be basante who was a decent 2nd beaten only 1.25 lenghts over this distance by the decent wolfgang last time out

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH Yarm 4.50 - Midnight Rider - win at 7/2 bog PP Only 5 runners for this sprint handicap Midnight Rider is a lightly raced 3 year old having his second run in handicaps. Finished third last time out at warwick, making good late headway. That was his first run for 4 months and hopefully he'll come on a bit Prior to that he'd gone off as an odds on favourite in 2 maidens but hadn't won one So, he's still a maiden This isn't really my normal kind of selection as I'm obviously going on 'promise' rather than 'acheivement' But i've got my doubts about the other 4 runners - Equuluis Pictor probably needs a deluge as he's best on soft ground. The forecast for tomorrow is a bit iffy so he might get it, but that's the risk in posting up the night before..............:loon Whisky Junction is better over 6f now and usually struggles in handicaps Star twilight has been running in worse races than this recently and not winning them Miss Polly Plum has shot up the weights after a good early season. She might go well back at 5 furlongs as a front runner, but I'm hoping Star twilight might bustle her up for a few furlongs.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 3.10 Haydock Rock Weiller ew @ sp Course and distance winner on soft ground last September. Showed signs of returning to form when second last time out behind Amazing Blue Sky. The favourite does look very strong here but Rock Weiller looks well handicap and with the course form and Spencer in the saddle I expect a big run today.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 4.30 Brighton Inquisitress is back down to a decent mark and loves it here. Gannon back on board which is a plus after a decent run lto. The stable is also in excellent form with two winners in the last week and a good few placed horses also. All in all looks to have her best chance for a while to add to her win tally. 1 Pt win 13/2 Skybet

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 3.30 Brighton: Plattsburgh 1pt win @ 3/1 Ladbrokes BOG Mark Johnston has an enviable record at Brighton with a 30% strike rate and £47 profit to level stakes over the last five seasons. He sends one runner here today, the in-form Plattsburgh. Won comfortably over this trip at Doncaster on penultimate start before running with great credit over the same trip to finish a close runner-up in a better race than todays LTO at Ffos Las. Only 1lb higher than that run today and I think this progressive 3yo could take all the beating with Darryl Holland taking just this one ride at Brighton today.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH Brighton 4:30 Hierarch 8-1 Boyle Sports 1 Point WIN Looking at this horse form it looks to me as if he has been running at unsuitable trips/ground lately and today under his new yard which is in form they run him at mile on good ground. His past performances in these conditions is encouraging with a 2nd off 10lbs higher than today and some creditable performances off a much higher mark than today. No headgear today for the new yard either so they obviously have been working with the horse. This class 6 wont take much winning and trainer has a 30% strike rate here, 60% with his 4 year olds(3/5). Each way is the safe bet but the win at this price is too hard to turn down.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 710 Folkestone : Anjomarba 6/4 (bet365) This looks a solid proposition at Folkestone tonight, she has won here a couple of times and also been placed. Beat Play The Blues off 63 and last time was second to Efistorm here over C/D. That horse has won since and she gets in here of a mark of just 66 in which she has won off before. In good form has Hayley Turner on board and should run her race.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH Lady Florence - Brighton 3:00 I had to back this for sentimental reasons today as my grandmother is from Florence! In looking at the form it won this race the last 2 years in a row and Seb Sanders replaces a claimer, it loves Brighton, it is a course specialist, might get a soft lead today and storm home, has not many horses to beat! Should be prepped for this race. Win @ 9/4 (VC) BOG

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 15:30 Brighton If memory serves me correctly it is very rare that Mark Johnston sends horses to Brighton which suggests to me he fancies this horses chances today as it is his only horse at the meeting. Plattsburgh looks very progressive and he was rather unlucky not to notch up his 3rd win last time out where he finished a half length second at Ffos Las one week ago. Stayed on strongly inside the final furlong but by then it was too late and he was held off. The horse has already won at the track over 10 furlongs and also notched up a win over 12 furlongs at Doncaster. This is also Mr Holland's only mount at the meeting which is another positive for me. Hawaana is not without a chance though as he is seeking a hat trick and has previously won over today's course and distance so it won't be plain sailing for Johnston's 3 year old. Win Plattsburgh @ 3/1 (Ladbrokes - BOG)

Non Runner, replace with: Haydock 4:10 Seattle Drive 10-1 William Hill 1 POINT WIN Agree with monte in this race that Seattle drive at this price is overpriced. Looked to have lost his way a bit after bursting on to the scene last year with a win and two seconds in his 3 races in 2010. Started slowly but his last race was eye catching finishing strong to get 4th in a very competitive class 2 at Ascot of a mark of 89. Now off the same mark with Jamie spencer booked the yard may fancy this horse today. Spencer has a 21% strike rate here and a 100%(1/1) strike rate with this trainer here too. Trainers strike rate for the last 4 years is 33%(5-15) which also is impressive. Roman Eagle looks the main danger, Callan/Varian are devastating around here but i think the horse may want further.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH Not been on a course for just over 90 days but won well last time out and connections have hand picked this race for a reason. If trainer Mr Paul Webber can get another 2f out his 6yr old then his gelding MUST be in the mix and the end. Jockey Freddie Tylicki makes the journey for this sole ride. Haydock 4:40 - Bullet man. 0.5 e/w bet 6/1 most firms, Hills etc. N/R - BH Hope your day is a lucky one.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 3.00 Brighton - 1pt win Makheelah @ 10/1 (Bet365) - BOG I think this horse is a stonking price in a pretty poor fillies handicap over a trip just short of 7f. 10/1 in a 6-runner field is well overpriced in my opinion, even though she ran an absolute stinker last time out. She's only had 6 runs to date, and receives weight for her age. She ran well on debut at Doncaster over 7f when 4th of 10, beaten just over 2 lengths. Her next two runs can be excused for the ground being too soft at Yarmouth over a mile, and her next run came after a long break back on quicker ground at the same track. She bounced back to form with a close 3rd behind Icebuster over 7f at Leicester. She then ran well in a tough handicap at Doncaster when just fading over the mile behind the decent Submission. The form of that race looks a lot stronger than what she races against today. She was only beaten 4l. She shaped as if wanting 7f on good ground after that, but she got a mile on soft ground again, and she bombed last time out. She'd done it before on soft ground so it was no surprise, and I expect her to bounce back under ideal conditions today - on a slipping mark, and receiving weight.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH 3:40 Haydock - Brocklebank - Back Ran a bit of a stinker lto but his win prior to that is comfortably the best piece of form on offer in this race. He was probably out of his depth lto but he should be too good for the 2 opponents at this level today and should therefore return to winning ways 1pt win @ 8/11 Paddy Power BOG

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH Sandown 18:45 - Spanish Wedding 8/1 Bluesq 0.5pts e/w 6/14 on debut over the 7 furlongs at this track, never really threatened but I fancy the step upto a mile should be ideal, improvement will be expected horses usually come on for their first run, Botti has done okay when he has runners here and this one will put in a better effort tonight.

Re: BBOTD AUG 4TH S7.55 Mattoral 0.5pt E/W 8/1 Betfred The horse has shown improved form since the blinkers have been applied on the horses last 2 runs - both runs being here at Sandown. Interestingly the manner of the horse staying on run last time on ground similar to todays over 2 furlongs shorter means that a good run could be expected tonight. The same jockey is on board and the horse is off the same mark so it really should run its race and be in the shake up at the end.
