Good For Blue - Wetherby 2:40 Even though this horse is a 9 year old, it has only ever had the 8 runs, inning one of those over 2m 4f at Huntingdon in February last year which is interesting, maybe February is the time to catch it? I was very pleased with its run last time out at Huntingdon, where it was its first run on the back of a break and ran an eye-catching race, 4th to Heez A Cracker over 2m 5f on soft ground. The horse that was just behind him in 5th that day, Premier Des Marais, hacked up as far as i know a few days ago for Gary Moore which franks the form. It went off at 25/1 last time out but traded at a low of 2/1 on betfair in running, it travelled very well for a long way and should come on leaps and bounds for the run. Richard Johnson also does well for Mr Phillips. 1 Point win @ 9/1 (Bet365) BOG

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb I'll have a wee punt on Mrs Walton's runner in the 2:40 at Wetherby, her 9yr old bay gelding is lightly raced for his age only having the 5 runs. He u/r rider last time out but today he might be more at home on the softer ground. Jockey Richie McGrath gets the leg up again today and after a nice break the pick could run a nice race with good place claims. Wetherby 2:40 Crop Walker - 0.5 e/w bet. Best of luck in your day.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 4.35 Southwell Gonna be a bit of an unexciting day shit or bust basically. Stanley Rigby looks a massive price at 13/8! First his rivals; Turjuman is a Windsor specialist but has won on polytrack, tries this surface for the first time so could easily bounce back as he often does and isnt one to rely on! Nahell doesnt look particularly well treated although meets Stanley on 5lb better terms for 2 lengths hard to see that reversed in all honesty still 5lb above last winning mark. Kipchak well out of form and little form on fibresand. Mexican jay caused a 33/1 upset round here in october but failed to beat a rival last 2 starts and attitude defenetily looks a head strong one. Port Hill is proving consistent on polytrack but still been well beaten last twice and fibresand for first time today. Ay Tay Tate has showed hope on this surface last twice in weak maidens but needs to step up back in handicaps and 2lb out of handicap probably another day and 11/2 looks very short. Stanley Rigby has won his last 4 starts all on this surface and 3 over CD, although hung left noticeably last time out he still asserted and ran on strongly to be quite a convincing winner and a further 5lb higher could still be well treated for such an improver relatively lightly raced and certainly unexposed on surface! 0.5pt win Stanley Rigby 13/8 vc

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 4.35 Southwell - Mexican Jay ew at 10/1 bet365 Has placed 3 of 7 career starts so far and 2 out of 3 incl one winner were at this course over 1f longer. That win came In a class 6 h/cap off 55 and then was no match for clear winner finishing 8L 3rd off 60 but Shane Kelly taking off 3lbs so effectively off 57. Has been racing over 1m 6f last couple of outings racing prominently before fading in last couple of furlongs . Interesting that has been ridden by app last 3 times but stable jockey Eaves is on board today , only 1lb higher than win and also over 1m3f today. More suitable distance tomorrow could have a chance against many , fav excempt , who have questions

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 3:25 Southwell - Reachforthebucks - Back Going to really long odds on here but, having shown nothing on his 1st 3 career starts, he absolutely hosed up lto. He is turned out again quickly here which indicates connections are keen to strike while the iron is hot and they have found a perfect race in which to get him back-to-back wins here 1pt win @ SP

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 3.40 Taunton all for free 50/1 e/w bet 365 Was an impressive winner 2 runs ago and then really disappointed last time out when sent off favourite. Apparently bled that day. This is a big step up in class against some classy types so will find it very tough. May run better than his current odds would suggest though

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 4:35 Southwell - Ay Tay Tate - 1pt @ 6/1 (VC - BOG) Interesting one stepped up in trip and breeding suggests it could well suit. He's always shaped as if needing further than what he's been running over and his recent 2 starts give encouragement that he could land a contest like this soon. He was running on the back of a long break but shaped well on both occasions and should come on for them. He's 2lbs out of the handicap here but still potentially well treated off his mark and I think he could run a very big race in the capable hands of Andrew Heffernan. The favourite is obviously bang inform but is much too short and has to cope with a weight rise. A couple of other have claims but David Griffith's Ay Tay Tate looks overpriced at 6/1 and could run a mighty race if he sees out the trip, which I expect he will.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 1 point win Stanley Rigby bet365 @ 6/4 southwell 16.35 Stanley Rigby is a quality horse on 4 wins on the bounce looking for number 5, has won over this course and distance and is the sportinglifes pick for this race with the best OR in the sporting life, they also give it a five star rating,Stanley Rigby also has naheel who it meets again today 2 lenghts behind it last time out, the only negative i can see is BIG Kev . com(my m8) gave me the tip for it and he is the worst at picking horses ever:)

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb Southwell 4:35 Mexican Jay 14-1 BET365(BOG) 0.5pts EW Looks very well handicapped and running at his ideal trip and surface in my opinion. Best performances have been over 12f on this track so the drop back a furlong looks a good decision. Trainer and Jockey are a good combo and this horse looks a bit overpriced for me.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 15.15 - Sweden - Wetherby 1pt Win 9/4 Betfred CD winner and ran really well LTO in testing conditions. This is likely to be another tough race but if he can reproduce that run again he is sure to go close. There are signs that the Trainer is returning to form and he sends just the one runner here today (long way from Glamorgan). Looks like Paul Maloneys only scheduled ride of the day as well.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb My god will I ever get a winner???? Okay slight change of appraoch her as I have had some success with punts in races where there is a short favourite. 4.15 Just Amazing is going to be very short for this after a facile win last time. However I just feel that in Hunters its not always a good idea to take a short price so I'm looking at Come What Augustus to upset the applecart. Has won 14 PTP races but this is her first time under rules. Must have every chance of going close here and is a decent price due to the short favourite. 1 Pt win 11/1 VC Bet

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 16.15 Taunton Just Amazing Looks a different class to anything else in this race and should be able to follow up fridays win at Sandown fairly unopposed here. Has won 5 of 10 over fences and i expect win no 6 today! Just Amazing 1pt win @2/5 (bet365)bog

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 350 Weth: Hobsons Bay (Evens VCBet) Poor days racing and will side with the fav in Wetherby's novice race, he ran really well last time when behind Storm Brig, he was the only one who go with the winner up the home straight and weakened over the last. The winner that day is thought to be very useful and this race is far weaker.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 2.20pm 'Madam Boot' 3/1 (Coral / BOG) 3rd last time out looks nothing special, the horses in front are decent measures at this level though. A run just before that when a neck behind Final Drive stands out more, considering how that thing has been running recently @ Meydan. I ask myself would I back Final Drive in this race today and it's a resounding yes, so I have to be with this horse against a couple of very exposed horses and a relatively unexposed one ridden by Andrew Heffernan. 1 point win The climb to a safe top 16 place begins today :cow

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 2:00 Taunton Qozak 1pt win - 8/13 (Bet365) On form he has one rival to beat and he returns from a year off the track. He was also rated lower over hurdles than Qozak and hasn't done anything of note over fences. For me, the chances of him beating Qozak here on his seasonal debut are very slim. The odds for Qozak are generous. His Taunton record reads 1111 and he reversed form very easily with Keki Buku who is no mug himself. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go off a lot shorter.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb Wetherby 2.40 - Moon Melody 1 pts win @ 6/1 with Betfred Ran a very good race lto when finishing 2nd at Catterick to Bocciani (who won again on Sunday). Ground & step up in trip won't be a problem, also races of 3lbs lower today and a repeat of previous run would give him a excellent chance. Hit the bar last two days with two 2nds hope for one better here :hope

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb Celtic Ballad 3.05 Taunton. 0.5 points each way. Chase debut and so plenty to prove, but I think chasing will see him improve and that means he can exploit a mark of 84 for today. Needs to show more, but the soft ground a trip aren't a concern and so I expect a big run today. I'll take the 15/2 with Victor Chandler for competition purposes.

Hi mate, Moon Melody has not been dropped in the weights, it is actually 3 pounds out of the handicap, minimum weight it can race off is 10 stone so it is actually at a disadvantage today, good luck.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb 3.05 Taunton - 0.5pts e/w Laneguy @ 20/1 (StanJames) Pretty grim handicap chase this one, but Laneguy looks an interesting runner and must have a chance on its best form. Close 2nd in a point to point and another good run when falling hopefully will bode well for Laneguy's chasing career, and was twice placed in maiden/novice hurdles - even if beaten quite a distance. Pulled up in a handicap hurdle in May, and the same result was the case on its return/chase debut in October. If forgiving him that, as he was entitled to need it, it's 6th of 7 last time, whilst not looking great, isn't actually too bad relative in this race. The 5th was rated 105, the 4th has won twice since (now rated 109), the 3rd has run okay since, the 2nd has been narrowly defeated, and the winner - War Party - has hacked up since and is now rated 118. The step up in trip is fine and has been dropped 5lbs. Worth a punt at a big price in a poor race.

Re: BBOTD - 22nd of Feb TALKIN ITALIAN 3.25 Southwell. 0.5 points each way. Needs plenty to beat the favourite, bit I just feel that he's capable of better than showing and could get the race run to suit. Around the 20s mark on the exchanges and I think that's value to finish 1st or 2nd in this. If the favourite isn't on his game, then we can strike.
