  1. Re: Friday 3:20: Cheltenham Gold Cup I really struggle to see anything beating an on-song Bob's Worth, but Captain Chris at 20s is still overpriced.
  2. Re: Banker of the Meeting If Dynaste doesn't go, it's Aupcharlie in the Jewson. Otherwise, Bob's Worth.
  3. Re: Wednesday 5:15: Weatherbys Champion Bumper No bet as this is an impossible betting race, but love the race to just hope one travels and wins well and we can all dream of it being the next big thing! Golantilla seems to have a big rep so looking forward to seeing what he can do!
  4. Re: Cheltenham Decisions - which race There's no doubt Boston Bob gets three miles, his run in the AB last year clearly proves that, he just seems a total plodder with no tactical speed. Maybe that'll help him in the RSA, but I can't see him winning it. Flemenstar will either win the Ryanair (if his reported travelling issues don't surface) or finish a good second in the QM. I've no doubt he'll shake Sprinter up.
  5. Re: Simonsig - bet or lay? I didn't like him as a chaser to begin with but now struggling to see what gets him off bridle - nothing imo. Captain Conan fought off Hinterland and won comfortably by a few lengths, Simonsig didn't even break sweat to beat him a distance. I haven't backed him at the price (actually on Oscars Well and Captain Conan at 14s the pair I think), but wouldn't lay him at even money either. His engine is ridiculous.
  6. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 They won't go back over hurdles with GC surely. Ryanair this year, go for GC next year. He travelled so strongly in KG, just left behind in the ground. Slightly better ground and he'll be lethal over Ryanair trip.
  7. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 I think if Flemenstar doesn't win the Hennessy and convinces he stays, he'll be going QM. Grand Crus would be near fav for Ryanair if that was confirmed. 12s a silly silly price, bigger on exchanges but not much money to back.
  8. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 Backed Grands Crus for the Ryanair at 12s. I think they're still thinking Gold Cup, but surely this is the logical race. He tanked through the KG but didn't get home in testing ground. Beaten KG horses do well in the Ryanair.
  9. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 Backed Captain Chris at 25/1 for the GC with Betvictor, money back as free bet if he doesn't run. Too big after his KG performance, Cheltenham festival winner and staying on strongly in Ryanair last year.
  10. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 Also, what about Dynaste? I wouldn't back him at 5/2 for the RSA, but he's not come off the bridle yet in three good races. He finishes his races more strongly than Grand Crus so I wouldn't at all be worried about the trip. What would get him off the bit? The RSA bunch look extremely slow this year.
  11. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 He's hardly backable now at 9/2, but with the improvement you'd expect, he's got to have a huge chance. Soft ground and Henderson could have the 1-2-3.
  12. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 Darlan at 16s for the Champion! Wasn't even given a backhander by McCoy today, he jumped brilliantly and looks a monster.
  13. Re: Jump Racing ~ Boxing Day 26th December Did anyone else get on LR to win at 4/1 with PP earlier? I don't see it mentioned on any forum I go on so I'm bloody hoping it's as straight-forward as advertised! To be honest I can't see past the Henderson pair with an outsider to place, For Non Stop perhaps. We all know LR loves Kempton, stays, will relish testing conditions etc etc. Ran a perfectly acceptable race in the Betfair. You'd imagine he'll come on for it and he should take some stopping. Riverside Theatre was second in the 2010 renewal behind LR, seems to have improved since. The trip is a slight worry, but he's got the required class and jumps well. Cue Card has a huge question to answer with regards to the trip, he doesn't appear to cry out for 3+ miles. Grands Crus is a woeful price based on his last two runs, and a really testing three miles surely won't be in his favour. Kauto Stone shouldn't have the class to win this and his form from Ireland isn't that great imo. The Giant Bolster is perfectly respectable but a little short for me, I think his second in the GC probably makes him out to be better than he is. Captain Chris has big stamina doubts, he couldn't pull away from Somersby last year despite looking like he'd put considerable distance between them. Junior shouldn't have the pace to go with these. Champion Court isn't best at three miles, he'll travel well though. For Non Stop is the only outsider I could see getting involved in any way, really classy comeback in the Old Roan and wasn't at his best lto behind Captain Chris, making mistakes and not really traveling. The only bet I've had is Paddy's special of 4/1 on LR, and will likely back FNS each-way. In the Christmas Hurdle I think Cinders and Ashes is an each-way bet to nothing at 9/2. Maguire took it very easy on him in the Fighting Fifth and he clearly has the class to form into a leading Champion Hurdle contender.
  14. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 Why does everyone think Simonsig's a shoe-in for the Arkle?! Don't like the way he jumps fences, doesn't bend his back. Massive engine but for whatever reason, don't like him as a chaser.
  15. 13:50 Chelt Consigliere 1pt EW - 25/1 (SJ) Might be using this as a warm-up for more appropriate targets, but with the claimer onboard and the fact that he'll be running of essentially a mid 130s mark, he's too big to ignore at the price. Ran away with a handicap last year off 136. He goes on the track, a close third in the Grand Annual a few years back. 14:25 Chelt Tominator 2pt - 9/2 (B365) Dodging Bullets will be very hard to beat but high-class flat recruit Tominator should prove a tough nut to crack. Now trained by Jonjo, he made light work of his rivals on hurdling debut in the style of a classy horse. He put in some of his best performances on the flat last year without winning so is clearly thriving. 9/2 seems generous.
