Re: Cycling 2011/Volta a Pais Vasco/Cobblestones time at the end Pineau bet was awarded as lost.... Good decision by Pinnacle, but bad for me:) Paris-Robaix Langevald - Thomas 2.08 Langeveld is in top form right now. Finished 5-th in Flanders, while Thomas was 10-th. Rabo's man also had better results in Paris-Robaix then Thomas. Pozato - Leukermans 2.42 Filipo made weak season so far. Now he has a chance to show his qualities. If everythink is ok, he is for me a Top 3 contender. Leukermans is very good, but not as classy as Pozato Rollin - Eisel 2.61 Rollin is for second year here. He showed that may progres a lot in cobbles. Eisel beat him by just one place at Flanders, but here the Frenchman for sure will improve his last year position. Eisel is not the best pal here and for sure will work for his teammates, while Rollin will have some more free duties.

Re: Cycling 2011/Volta a Pais Vasco/Cobblestones time Pais Vasco TT stage Samuel Sanchez - Alexander Vinokurov Sanchez knows far better the stage here. As a part of local Euscatel team he will have plus moivation. Both are very good TT-ist in their bests, but seems Vino dropped down his qualities against the clock regarding his results this season. Both scored win here, but for Sanchez it will be a plus motivation to fight against Radioschack Kloeden and Horner for the podium places here,

Re: Cycling 2011/Volta a Pais Vasco/Cobblestones time One more outsider: Gusev @ 151 Centrebet Gusev is a very attacking rider who finished top 5 in this race a few years ago before being disqualified for crossing train tracks or something stupid like that. Everyone know Cancellara is the man to beat so it will be hard for anyone else to win, and if they are to just that, I think it will likely require a strong break with attacking riders - qualities I certainly associate with Gusev.

Re: Cycling 2011/Volta a Pais Vasco/Cobblestones time Round ups From Paris-Robaix Langeveld scored, while Pozato vs Leukermans was No action at first, but then Leukermans was awarded a 13-th place in the official results. So a little change in the stats after both failled to complete the race. Rollin lost so it's Paris - Robaix - 0.92 Pais Vasco (Sanchez was ahead of Vino, i forgot to put the odds - they were 2.32) Round up Pais Vasco Overall +2.31 H2H +2.31 2011 2011 Overall -42.37 H2H -8.01

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics De Brabantse Pijl H2H, pinnacle odds Johnny Hoogerland vs Serguey Lagutin 2.18 Hoogerland has some problems with fall earlier this season. Now he is back on the saddle. The Dutch guy loves this competition, where he finished twice from three starts. Last year he was on 18-th sport. Lagutin debuted last year and failled to finish. Hooglerland is far better climber then Lagutin and for sure he may benefit his qualities.

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics Brabantse Pijl Marcato - B.Scheirlinckx 1.65 (unibet) 6/10 Most value is gone since odds dropped from 1.85.Still Ithink Marcato is the better of the 2 riders Both are having descent form. Hermans to win @51 (bet365) + EW 1/4 (1/10) Young Belgian rider who 'll have his team working for him (Radioshack). He has some form and likes races around 200 km, everything above 220 is still a bit too heavy for him. But here with no that much ProTour teams at the start he can may be upset.

Marcato brought this bet home with a place in the first group. :) Hermans finished in that same group but was never in a chance to bring in a suprise.

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics I will count my bet at Brabantse Pjil as no action :) Amstel gold race One of my favorite one day races is coming on Sunday. It will be showed live on Eurosport. It’s a hilly classic with very strong field this year. The big missing will be Cadel Evans, who got sort of injury and is out. Philip Gilbert is the big favorite here, according to bookies, because of his amazing form. I think it will be more about team work, then individual qualities/form. Gilbert is one man show and his team is not so strong comparing to others. Leopard trek is coming with his very/very best. Schleck brothers got some form in Vuelta a Pais Vasco and they said that Amstel Gold is their major goal from the spring races. Also Cancelara is in top form and they have also Fabian Wegman, Jens Voight, Fuglsang and Monfort Katusha is the other very very strong team with Di Luca, Ivanov, Kolobnev and Joaquin Rodriguez . Vacansoleil also had some very strong in form contenders, who may show some surprise. H2H Ryder Hesjedal – Damiano Cunego 2.30 Hesjedal will participate for the fifth time in the race. Last year he was second. Now he is in very good form, showing consistent climbing. Cunego also is in form, he just won Giro Del Apenino. Before that both participated in Vuelta a Pais Vasco. In all the four stages that both participated Hesjedal was ahead of Cunego, who didn’t finish the race. Maxime Monfort – Jacob Fuglsang 2.09 Monfort leads in the number of participation here – 5:3. Both will be domestics for Schelcs, Canchelara and Wegmann. In Vuelta a Pais Basco from 6 stages it was 4:2 for Monfort. It was the same at Criterium international 2:1 for Maxim, who lost only the TT stage. In Paris-Nice Monfort was better then Jacob. Fabian Wegmann – Francesco Gavazzi 2.18 Wegmann will participate for 10-th time this year. Gavazii will be here for forth time. Italian is more a sprinter type of rider. Fabian showed form in GP Miguel Indurain, where finished on third spot. Gavazzi may struggle in the climb, while Wegmann will try to be in front as long as possible to secure his teammates good positions. Jurgen van den Broeck – Luis Leon Sanchez 2.00 Jurgen van den Broeck surprisingly entered in Brabantse Pijl, which is to say that he has intentions in Amstel gold or other Ardennes classics. The team of Omega is well structured around Gilbert, who said that expect strong support from Broek. Luis Leon Sanchez didn’t show expected results in his new team Rabobank. He is still digging for his form. Amstel Gold is not the best race for Spaniard, who participated 3 times here and his best is 77-th place. Broeck has participate 4 times here and had once 20-th and once 30-th place. Manuele Mori – Johnny Hoogerland 2.69 Hoogerland works very strongly in Brabantse Pijl, where finished in forth position. He is very capable climber, but never showed some results in Amstel gold cup. He participated twice here in last two years, finishing on 54 and 64 position. He is not from the top guns of Vacansoleil for one day races and probably will sacrifice for Devolder, Leukermans, Marcato or Poels. Manuele Mori is very constant in Amstel gold. He participated here 5 times with his worst finish is 52nd place and his best 20-th place. Danilo Di Luca – Alexander Kolobnev 2.10 Di Luca is former winner here. He also has some very good finishers in other years. He is still searching for his best form, but for sure is one of the top contenders who knows very well the tough hills of Amstel gold. Kolobnev will try an attack as this is his specialty. The other favorites knows very well the strong sides of Russian and probably will not let him go alone. Leonardo Bertagnoli – Bram Tankink 3.14 Bergagnoli rode just twice here finishing in 25-th and 33-th position, while Tankink is much more experienced with 7 rides (27-th place is his best). The Dutch cyclist rode to a fifth place in Brabantse pjil, but here he will serve as a domestic for Gesink, LL Sanches, Freire and other top guys from Rabobank. Bertagnoli is leader of Lampre along with Cunego. Both will try to make to the group of favorites. Great odds for Bertagnoli, who is far better rider then Tankink Craig Lewis – Luca Mazzanti 2.28 The forces here are almost even. Lewis tried to attack in Brabantse pijl, but failed to join the break up. The American is specialized from the start of the season at one day races. Mazzanti is noting special. Finished behind Lewis in Brabantse and he had just three races from the start of the season, which may be a problem in 250 km hilly race. I see here 50/50 chances with far better odds for Lewis Gustav Larson – Lars Peter Norghaug 2.18 The TT specialist Larson will be here for forth time with his best 20-th place in 2009. Saxo Bank will have a leader in face of Nick Nuyens, but Larson also may join the favorites. He rode all the classics this season and finished on nice 12-th place at E3. Norghaug is more stage racer. It will be his first one day race from entire season.

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics Damiano Cunego @ 15 Betfair Was very impressed by Cunego's ride the Giro Del Alpennino. Had to ride against 4 riders in the same team and still chased everything down and won with ease. Gilbert the big fav but Cancellara has proven if you are too big a favourite it's really hard to win, and with the form Cunego has and his sprint ability, I think he'd be a favourite from most groups of which Gilbert is not a part of. Danilo Di Luca @ 40 Betfair Sergei Ivanov @ 40 Betfair Alexander Kolobnev @ 26 Bet365 Katusha have a very strong team here and I think there is value here. I think Rodriguez might be the marked man by the peleton, but with other riders like Di Luca, Kolobnev and Ivanov, at least one of them has a good chance of being part of the winning move, and all are strong enough to win from such a group. Peter Sagan @ 50 Betfair Sagan is a quality rider with a strong finish and I think today the race might just be short enough for his young legs to handle. He's already been in one break in the classics and there is the possibility he will be let in the break due to a perception of him not being a mature enough rider to win this sort of race. This is probably true, but for his set of abilities on this race profile and with these odds, it's a risk worth taking. Jurgen Van Den Broeck @ 140 Betfair As we saw with Cancellara, if you are a prohibitive favourite, as Gilbert is here, the peleton will ride against you. As such, the smartest thing OPL can do is but a strong rider in the break. That, for me, is Jurgen Van Den Broeck. He's a very classy rider and though he doesn't have a professional win, he does have two Top 10 finishes in grand tours. Irresistible odds for a strong rider on Gilbert's team. Carlos Barredo @ 220 Betfair Barredo is a very attacking rider who I feel can show himself in this race. He's probably more of a 2nd tier rider for this kind of event which can work in our favour here as his latitude for being in a break will be greater. Of course, his lesser ability does make winning less likely, but the odds are still in our favour here.

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics Round up Amstel Gold Race H2H -5.54 Overall 2011 2011 Overall -47.91 H2H -13.55 La Fleche Walonne Very common race as Amstel gold cup, but with far harder final climb, which will be passed several times. We have all the major contenders from Tour de France here. Odds Pinny Andy Schleck – Alberto Contador 2.49 Andy Schleck finally showed some form in Amstel Gold Cup. Made strong attack, but faided at the end. He has very good uphill kick. Contador was second third last year, while his previous two show ups here were not so good. Andy was second in 2009 and 8-th last year. It will be the fifth start up here for younger brother, while Alberto will start for third time. The big plus for Andy is his team with so much strong riders. Alberto may benefit mainly by Chris Anker and Nicky Soresen, but not sure if this will be enough for him. Jurgen van den Broeck – Jelle Vanendert 2.18 Broeck sacrificed himself totally for Gilbert. But now he may have more free role. He will rode here for 8-th time, while Jelle has only 3 runs so far. If both are able to stay in the same group in the final climb, Van den Broeck for sure will finish ahead of Jelle. The huge up finish benefits even better van den Broeck then Gilbert. Alexander Vinokurov – Johnny Hoogerland 2.09 Different class at all. Fleche Walonne is not the best race for Vinokurov, but he still has some nice Top 15 placings. The Kazakh will start here for the first time since 2007. Hoogerland showed amazingly good form in last few days, staying in touch with the big favorites. I think his efforts will come too much even for him and I expect him to be out of contention this time. Vino missed the break and finished on 17-th position in Amstel gold. Now I dodn’t think he will double his mistake. Enrico Gasparoto – Marco Marcato 2,24 Gasparoto has better experience here, started just once in 2009, but finished on 19-th spot. Marcato with two starts – once DNF and once 50+ place. Marcato was ahead of Gasparoto in Amstel Gold cup and this is the reason of such odds. I think now Astana will move smarter in order to place Vino ahead of affairs with a possible 1-2 guys with him. Vacansoleil is one of the most agresive teams with so good strong riders, who failed to score. Rein Taaramae – Wouter Poels 2.35 Poels is not in his best form for Spring classics. Both were far away from contention in Amstel Gold. I can’t understand Taaramae, who finished out of Top 100. Just saved his powers after missed the break. Estonian is making his best season so far with Forth place at Paris-Nice and third at Criterium International. He is known with his power uphill attacks and for sure will smatch down Poels if both are in the same group.

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics Adding two more at Fleche Walonne Odds Pinnacle Alberto Contador - Joaquin Rodriguez 2.43 Last year it was Rodriguez who finished second ahead of Contador. But it was Contador's mistake to attack two early. Now Alberto is aimed to get revange. He will miss Amstel Gold cup and LBL and will start just here, while Rodriguez will show his cards in all three competitions. Joaquin gives everything in Amstel to finish second and he is not so consistent to score back to back nice positions. Contador is in very good form, showed in Vuelta a Castilia y Leon. Still think Andy Schleck will act smarter then Amstel Gold cup and if he is together with Frank at the end, they both will have better chance for good positioning. Bert de Waele - Michael Albasini 2.10 Albasini has some nice Top 15 placings here. But he is not in the same form as in previous editions. Still lacks some good preparation for such classics. Bert de Waele is going very well in the semi Spring classics and is showing good consistence in form. He is leader of a team, who must make impresion in such races. De Waele will fight for every position ahead that he may getm ,while Albasini is not in the same position. I read some comments for HTC tactics, it will be every man for himself with a lot of tries to go to early breakway, which i think is doomed here. It leaves Albasini without serious backup if something happens.

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics Nice work this year Klopsikus. One day I really must look into H2H, but for now I continue using cycling solely for picking value odds. Am actually on Rodriguez and Contador and Anton tonight because I truly do think it's a 3 way race between these Spaniards, but as PR showed nothing is ever for certain. EDIT: Tip withdrawn from race

Re: Cycling 2011/Ardennes classics Round up At FW only Vino scores 1/7 FW Overal/H2H -4.91 2011 Overall -52.82 H2H -18.46 The last one from the Ardennes – Liege-Bastogne-Liege (LBL). If Gilbert is in front group at the last climb and he showed the form from Amstel and FW nobody may stops him. Shleck brothers will be very hungry as well as Vino, who is showing good form recently. Igor Anton – Frank Schleck 2.01 Igor Anton showed very good skills in Fleche Wallone, where finished in fifth spot. Last year he was 4-th at FW and finished on 6th place on LBL. Frank Schleck has chances in FW, but failed and now probably will work for Andy, who got LBL as one of his main targets for the season. Andy Schleck – Samuel Sanches 2.16 The entire Leopard trek team will work for Andy here. If he didn’t get good result the entire part of his spring season will be gone for nothing. He builds himself slowly as always, but now he may strike very well. Samuel Sanches showed very good results in April. He is in form for sure, but after the strong ride in FW, he may feel it on today far more long race, which has some bigger hills to conquer at the end. Damiano Cunego – Ryder Hesjedal + 2.35 Cunego crashed at FW in very important part of the race. He threw a lot of efforts to come back, but failed to make some impression. Hesjedal is not kind of acceleration ryder. He may follow very well in long climbs, but where need some higher speed on the hills, he suffer. Cunego has a third place at LBL and twice was seventh, while Hesjedal never been in Top 10 Ivan Basso – Thomas Lofkvist 2.33 Ivan Basso will not participate at the Giro. He is not in his best shape, but still managed to finish far ahead then Lofkvist in FW. Lofkvist;s role in LBL will be to help Gerrans with all that he can. I am not sure he will be in good shape to do so. Sylvain Chavanel – Vasil Kyrienka 2.01 + Chavanel is leader of the strong Quickstep team. He finished on 16-th spot at Amstel Gold cup. Kyrienka never made it Top 100 here and he also do not show good results at Ardenes this season. Vasil is breakway artist, but here there are to much on stage that such a break would be let. Very nice odds for Chavanel. Chrisoph le Mevel – Nicki Sorensen 2.23 + Le Mevel showed very good climbing form on wednsday at FW, where he finished on ninth spot. Sorensen is worker for his team and I am not sure if he will be in top 20 here. The Frenchman showed his best qualities at his new team Garmin and may be one of the surprises here. Enrico Gasparoto – Marco Marcato 2.24 Just two places divide them in FW in favor of Marcato. Gasparotto has better performance here, while Marcato never been in Top 100 in this competition. Astana’s leader Vino has high ambitions for LBL and will need his guys to be with him as long as possible. Janez Brajkovic – Tony Martin 2.00 Brajkovic was 42-nd at FW, while Martin was far behind. The Germen is still working for his form, after winning Paris-Nice earlier this season. He is far from peaking. Brajkovic may act better in the climbs and especially at this uphill finish. Rigoberto Uran – Jerome Pineau 2.59 + Rigoberto Uran showed good qualities in FW, finishing on 19-th sport. Jerome Pineau is always on attack trying to break and spending a lot of efforts for that. His chances will be very limited for such a break. Uran is very good climber and showed good form in Volta a Catalunya, where he was fifth overall.

Re: Cycling 2011/Tour of Romandie Tour de Romandie Prologue Short 3,5 km TT. Very open one with some nice odds. All prices are Pinnacle Sports Danniele Benatti – Bradley Wiggins 2.21 Benatti won a short time trial few weeks ago, beating Milar and Zabriski. He also finished twice here at the prologue at Tour of Swiss. Wiggins for sure is better TT-ist, but he may have some problems for such a short distance. Cadel Evans – Alexander Vinokurov 2.89 Cadel showed some Top 20 placings in prologue of Grand Tours, while Vino is not so consistent. Recently the Kazah’s time trail qualities dropped a little bit. Very nice odds for Evans, who must be fresher, after missing Ardenes. He said that is 90-95 % recovered after injury, which must not be a problem for such a short event. Cameron Meyer – Luke Roberts 2.03 Meyer is world track champ for two years in a row, which may help him in this short distance. On paper Meyer is better TT-ist and a better sprinter. Roberts is far from his best and probably will be out of Top 30

Re: Cycling 2011/Tour of Romandie Tour de Romandie Overall H2H Bradley Wiggins - Tony Martin 3.10 Wiggins is better multy stage cyclist. Martin peaked at Paris-Nice, but showed bad form in Ardenes. Both will start their build up. Martin has some slight advantage at TT, but Wiggins is better climber. I am not sure if Martin will be able to follow the strongest guys on the top finishes. Good odds for Wiggins. Roman Kreuziger - Marco Pinotti 2.17 Roman Kreuziger is a former winner here and for sure the better climber of both. The Astana rider showed promosing form in LBL, where finished with the front guys. Pinotti is better in the TT, but Kreuziger may also fight well against the clock. Benat Intxausti vs Steve Morabito 2.43 Benat is in very good shape recently and is capable time trailer. He is the leader of Strong Movistar team. Morabito participated forth times here with his best 18-th place at GC. Intxausti is capable of finish in Top 10 Andrew Talansky vs David Millar 2.26 Talansky showed potential to be a Stage tour star. Already finished on forth place at Tour de Mediteranean. Millar has problems with climbing. He for sure will do well in both TT, but Talansky also is very capable TT cyclist.

Re: Cycling 2011/Tour of Romandie Stage 1 Odds Pinnacle Sports Janez Brajkovic – Roman Kreuziger 2.65 Kreuziger suffered in Giro del Trentino just wekk ago. Now here he may also find some problems. In fact Alexander Vinokourov finds in better form now. 4th place at Liege- Bastione-Liege is good show of form, but now enough for such a multi stage tour. Brajkovic is stable in this kind of competitions. He is the leader of nice Radioshack team here and probably will be in front at the last climb. Almost sure that both will be at the same group, so 50/50 chances here for better placing with far better odds for Brajkovic. David Lopez – Benat Intxausti 2.15 Lopez achieved better results this season. Both are experienced tours riders. At the TT David Lopez was slightly faster. I give here 50/50 chances, but Lopez is with better odds. Also Lopez is more experienced in this competition participating in three editions, while Benat is here for first time.
