Decent result profit wise for the day but Xiwen 3-1 up and loses 5 in a row. Also, Maguire was shocking and went out. Same with Gilbert who just doesn't look the same player of months gone by and will be lucky to make it into the Worlds without the need to qualify now. At least with Xiwen, he can say Robertson really turned it on. Robertson really looks up for this event which makes me think his main aim is to win it, to get out of the "half of death" at Sheffield. For those who don't know, it looks like Neil Robertson will be in the same half as Ronnie, Selby, and Judd Trump so him winning it would be a massive chance of him making a potential final.
Anyways, on to the Last 16. Outrights on this event we still have Bingham who likes the most likely of the bets. A nice 147 today against Ebdon although you wouldn't say Bingham played amazingly. Still, also have outsider Haotian in the mix.
    Tomorrow's lineup :
    (7.30)
    L.Wenbo Vs S.Craigie
    N.Robertson Vs L.Ning
    L.Brecel Vs H.Vafaei
    L.Haotian Vs B.Woollaston

    (12:30)
    A.McManus Vs A.McGill
    L.Hang Vs J.Lisowski
    S.Bingham Vs R.Lawler
    S.Donaldson Vs R.Walden
I won't be taking too much tomorrow. I don't think there is too much value really. One I like though is Alan McManus to beat Anthony McGill. McManus has been really good this week and although he hasn't played top class players he has only dropped 2 frames. I don't think McGill has had to be too great either this week. Beating Nigel Bond and a very out-of-sorts Maguire. I will side with the value in the match, McManus.
Jack Lisowski has another good chance in this tournament but normally it's about this time he starts thinking about the finishing line and puts in a stinker and Li Hang is a very underrated player. A player which has beaten Lisowski in the past and I think he is a good pick.
Finally, I'm going to take on Ricky Walden and pick out Scott Donaldson for the win. Walden has a good record against Scott winning both their matches but only on a decider in the last and I think Donaldson looks the better of the two for form. Walden has beaten Ken Doherty and a Chinese qualifier, whereas Donaldson has seen off Joe Perry and David Gilbert.
    4pts A.McManus to beat A.McGill 13/8 Bet365
    2pts L.Hang to beat J.Lisowski 7/4 Paddypower
    2.5pts S.Donaldson to beat R.Walden 11/10 Bet365

This event gets underway in the early hours so the first matches begin at 1.30am being in China of course. Looking at the first round there isn't too much to get excited about in the early hours but abit later there are a few worth watching. One that starts in the morning at 6.30am is Ali Carter against Kurt Maflin and I think Maflin is overpriced. Ali beat Maflin 6-0 the last time they played but they have shared 2 wins each at the head-2-head. We don't really know of Ali's form at the moment because he withdrew from the Gibraltar tournament and was very poor against Williams in the Players prior to that. He beat Alann Taylor to qualify here 6-3. You couldn't say we have seen him in-form since the Grand Prix where he made the final.
Kurt Maflin is playing some decent stuff right now. He beat Hugill in the previous round here and Ashley played some great stuff including a 140 break. He had a good Gibraltar event where he got to the last 16 and lost to eventual champion, Bingham. Carter hasn't really performed in the China Open in the past couple of years and it just sways me on a possible upset here.
Also around this time, a battle of the Chinese commences as Li Hang takes on Yuelong. These two have never played eachother surprisingly, but I think Li Hang should be the favourite in my opinion. At 11/10 I will back him. He has had some nice results recently beating Robertson back in Ireland and pushing Higgins close not long ago. Mei Xiwen faces Marco Fu at 11.30am and I will be backing Xiewen. He is a very good up and coming prospect and he beat Fu 4-1 when they last played. The value is surely on Xiwen.
Sam Baird is really hitting the ball well right now. His form is good and you'd have to say the form is better than Brecel's, who to me just seems like he is playing in his local pub every time I watch him. I will go with Baird on that one. I will also punt on Vafaei who is another player who looks to be the better of form against Milkins.

    2.5pts K.Maflin to beat A.Carter 2/1 bet365
2.5pts Li Hang to beat Z. Yuelong 11/10 ladbrokes
    2.5pts M.Williams (-4.5 frames) to beat H.Chandle 11/10 bet365
    2.5pts M.Xiwen to beat M.Fu 21/10ladbrokes

    5pts H.Vafaei to beat R.Milkins 6/5 coral

i know pliskova is sort of struggling and vondrousova is having the season of her life but I have watched 2 of her matches (Mertens and strycova) and she just seems a level below pliskova, especially her serve can be very weak..

Harriet Dart to beat Cristina Bucsa at 1.53 with Pinnacle
Harriet Dart is having an excellent first half of the season, having qualified for the Australian Open and losing only to names like Sevastova or Barthel, both of which are miles above Bucsa. She took a small break, but her win over the dangerous Minnen from the first round shows that she should be ready to go - and, in theory, she should be at least a level above Bucsa in terms of virtually everything.

    Basilashvili @2,02 (Unibet)
Basilashvili has a small advantage here fore me, so I am happy to take him with odds above evens. I like to bet on Basilashvili when he is on a roll and I think he can do the job here against this youngster who already played a lot of matches lately.

Samantha Stosur to beat Madison Keys at 4.25 with 888
First match here for Keys after falling in the first round against Barthel in Indian Wells. Stosur has already one win here against Rodina (6-4, 6-2) and Keys is not in her best so the odds for Stosur looks juicy.
Irina-Camelia Begu to beat Bianca Andreescu at 3.50 with bet365
I think Andreescu will be finally tired after a lot of matches. She comes here after winning in Indian Wells (she played 7 matches there including 2 exhausting matches for her against Svitolina in semis and Kerber in the final). Begu doesn’t look the best opponent for Andreescu considering her possible fatigue cause Begu can take her into long rallies.
Yafan Wang (-2,5 Games) to beat Kristina Mladenovic at 1.86 with Marathonbet
Mladenovic is still getting bad results in singles and I think Wang will be too much solid for her.

Kristyna met Yanina just last week in Guadalajara and won in a deciding set tie-break and I'm of the opinion that Yanina just won her last match because her opponent was tired after winning Guadalajara 125k. She'll encounter a lot more problems to deal with now.

Nice, I thought Bingham was going to throw it away. One ball away from 4-1 and next time I look it's 4-3 to Gilbert, but both winners. Bingham through 6-4 to face Mark Allen tomorrow. Higgins still looks dodgy but nevertheless beats Selby. As expected though, Selby was the biggest break man. 5 in a row on the tips.
Tonight I'm really not sure what to expect from Judd. I would take Trump on handicap, but it bothers me the close friendship. Makes me think the "ruthlessness" will not be there for Trump. If I was pushed, I would take Trump on a handicap, but I'm sitting out tonight's match and will be back for tomorrows other 3 Quarter-final ties.

Nice, all winners bar Vatnani, but that was always a wild punt.
    Day 2 Preview :
One of the early matches tomorrow (UK Time) is Ursenbacher against Graeme Dott. Dott is actually the highest ranked player in this quarter but he certainly isn't playing like it. Knocked out of the China Open by Greene a week ago and Beaten 4-0 by Higgins and also losing out in the German to Georgiou fairly early it's not the Dott of old. Ursenbacher however, has started the year well. After a blip at the German where he lost to Trump slayer Jones, he ran well at the Welsh, getting to the Last 16 and then last week performed well in the China Open beating Matthew Stevens. Value is with Ursenbacher.
Also in the morning, Jimmy Robertson faces Scott Donaldson and I'm siding with Donaldson. He has a very good record against Jimmy winning the last few including a 4-0 win last out. He also has the better form, so although this is probably a coin-flip type game on paper, the form should have the odds the other way around. Robertson lost 6-3 to Ashley Carty last week and didn't even register a 50 break and even when he beat David Lilley here in the quallies, he struggled to win. Donaldson, however, beat Castle 6-1 and got to the Quarter-Finals of the Welsh.

Floorball is a sport we are very good at here in Sweden as we invented the sport but Finland is also very good at it and they are our biggets rivals in the World championships. I bet on Floorball sometimes when Swedens ladies and men is playing in the World championships. I most of the time use our local swedish bookie svenskaspel.se. Floorball is a sport played indoors between two teams trying to score goals with a little white plastic ball with 24 holes in it. Very similar to icehockey with equal sized goals with a goalkeeper and 5 players in each team on the floor chasing that white ball. There are colored balls to but those balls are not used except in training like on training with my team we sometimes have a green ball.

Back Peter Gojowczyk to beat Gilles Simon at 2.62 with Bet365
I've just noticed that Gojowczyk played final last year at Delray Beach, however this time he opted to participate in Marseille. Not sure what is behind his decision, but the points he is going to lose needs to be earned elsewhere, more than probably right over here.
I cannot repeat enough how dumb I was when laying the German in the first round, moreover calling him an average player, which is something even I don't really think... Anyway, I also make mistakes and harsh statements. This time I am going to back him against Simon, who did not survive the 2nd round here last year. Nobody is getting younger (if so, then please share the recipe with me) and the Frenchman can no longer play his typical ping-pong tennis at the level he did before. His performances so far in 2019 ar far from convincing for me. These two guys met a single time before, 2 years ago in Metz (indoor hard), where the German won in straight sets.

@ElPrincipito007 I like Belgium, in 888 is still paid at 1.80 (i should not take this if goes under 1.80). Mertens and Van Uytvanck will be the players to play the single matches, for sure. About France Garcia will play for sure and I think that Mladenovic will be the other one (her win-loss record in the Fed Cup is 20-9 with a 9-7 in singles). I think Belgium can win this without going to the doubles match. Garcia is in a bad shape and Mladenovic is still worse. Garcia is still dangerous but I think that Mertens and Van Uytvanck will win the other French player and I hardly can see Garcia winning her two matches (considering her last matches she can lose any of her 2 matches, especially against Mertens of course). I don’t know if I am overrating Van Uytvanck but I like her, I think that she is very good (she’s not getting good results but in this surface she’s dangerous).
I also like USA to win over Australia but the odds now are a little bit low
    Bautista walkover has killed me..

Better day yesterday although should have been a clean sweep. Watching Ding lastnight, he looked very good and very agressive. I am going to throw a couple of points at Ding at this stage he has impressed me.
    Day 3 Preview :
Today we have another 8 matches. We'll complete Round 1 and get started on the Last 16. First up in the afternoon we have Mark Selby against Shaun Murphy and Higgins against Saengkham. Once they are finished we have Master's finalists Kyren Wilson & Dave Gilbert facing Matthew Stevens & Yan Bingtao respectively.
In the evening we have Guodong who was very good against an ill Robertson, against Mark Davis and Tom Ford against Judd Trump who looked suspect in places against Carrington. When them two matches are done we finish with Maguire against the impressive Sijun and Barry Hawkins against "Ronnie slayer" Marco Fu.
I'm going with a few here. Firstly, I like Selby here. Not only because of the form of Murphy but also Selbys own form, which altough sometimes patchy, looks solid enough to me. He has a good head-to-head against Selby winning the last 3 matches and winning the most recent 3-0 in 2017. He went out to eventual finalist Gilbert at the German Masters on a deciding frame but he looked good there and he has hit 6 centuries in his last 3 matches. I actually not suprised to see Selby in the final this week. Murphy on the other hand has only beaten Jimmy White this year.
Noppon Saengkham is a player I like alot. He is a great break builder and in this kind of format, I think that is very beneficial. He faces an out-of-form John Higgins today and at 2/1 he is abit of value in my eyes. One thing these two have in common is they both lost their last match 5-4 to Sijun (interesting) the h2h shows 2 wins out of 2 for Higgins but at a time he was a much better player. Most of Higgins most recent matches have been pretty tight and I expect this to be atleast 6 frames.
Tom Ford has been in some pretty decent form recently and I'm quite suprised that he is 8/11 to get 2 frames. Ford has beaten Trump in 4 of the 12 matches. Ford has been scoring well and prior to this event he had hit 10 50+ breaks and 2 centuries in his last 3 matches. I'll take him to grab a couple of frames atleast.
Xiao Guodong has hit some good form in the last couple of weeks. Prior to the German Masters he had lost a deciding frame to Ding in the Last 16 having smashed Ryan Day. 5-1. Head-2-head between these shows Davis had won 4 out of the 7 they have played but last year in China, Guodong beat Davis 5-0 and you would have to say that he is playing better than Davis. He beat an in-form Neil Robertson and that was 3-1 down (to win 4-3) although admittingly, robertson had a cold/flu and looked like crap. Davis also went 2 down (to Jimmy Robertson) and came back to win (4-3) however you couldn't say Jimmy is in good form like Xiao is. I'm going to take Xiao to win this one.

Players like Wawrinka don’t need to gain money with match fixing, they have a lot of money. Wawrinka had a complicated match against Copil who did final in this tournament the last year and Basilashvili can win against the best players but he also can lose against low ranked players because he has an ultra-aggressive style of playing. There is a lot of match fixing in Challengers and ITF events but I can’t imagine players with a good ATP ranking fixing matches so it’s more a motivation issue like you said. Obviously, there will be some that do it but not too many (and not the 2 players you have mentioned I guess). The most typical form of match fixing in this level is that where players bet for themselves on a full match bookie and If they see that they can’t win the match they retire.

Tonight we get underway with 4 matches. Mark Allen against Gary Wilson which is normally a quite tight affair, Ronnie against Marco Fu, Hawkins plays Ryan Day and Bingham has Xingtong.
Marco Fu has had some awful form and I really cannot see anything but a 4-0 or 4-1 so i think the -2.5 handicap although generally risky in a 1st round encounter is a good choice here. Ronnie has beaten Fu 6-0 twice and 6-1 once in the past 5 meetings and with Fu's recent results is why I'm swayed.
Ryan Day will be my secnd pick. Hawkins I expected more from in the Masters. He took the lead well against Milkins but let him back in and made far too many mistakes. Day has a good record against Hawkins and I think that the value is there with Day.

As quick as Kyren Wilson wins the Masters on a Sunday night, the day after we have the World Grand Prix to start. It all kicks off tonight when Mark Allen gets it underway against Gary Wilson. This event was won last year by Ronnie O'Sullivan (no suprise) who returns this year. However, what is suprising is it was the first time he had won the event in 4 attempts. The players who have been heavily involved in the back end of the Masters I will avoid. The likes of Kyren, Gilbert etc do not play until midweek but Germany to Cheltenham after all that snooker doesn't appeal to me backing them. That being said I am going to give Robertson another chance here as I think he is close to being back in-form.
    Round 1
    M.Allen Vs G.Wilson
    M O'Donnell Vs A.Carter
    J.Lisowski Vs D.Junhui
    D.Gilbert Vs Y.Bingtao
    N.Robertson Vs Z.Guodong

    K.Wilson Vs M.Stevens
    S.Bingham Vs Z.Xingtong
    B.Hawkins Vs R.Day
    M.Fu Vs R.O'Sullivan
The main two players I like are in the top half and that is Mark Allen and Neil Robertson. Robertson, much like the Masters preview, I think is "due" a big performance. Allen was not involved with the German Masters and has had a nice break here. He also has a decent draw as you would fancy him to beat Wilson and Carter or O'Donnell which puts him into a last 8 spot. In the bottom half you would expect Ronnie to come through. There is a cluster of good players in the bottom half including Ronnie, Bingham, K.Wilson, Trump and Selby so it would be a tough draw to get to a final but i will throw a point at Saengkham who break builds well at this format that could be dangerous.

Aryna Sabalenka to beat Ekateryna Alexandrova 2-0 at 1.86 with Unibet
Going against Kasatkina once again, she's still to get going and has no match practice going into this, while Zvonareva looked good in the second part of her previous match. It's mainly a bet against Kasatkina though. The other bet is very much for Sabalenka, on the other hand, as she's playing well again and and she's a level above Alexandrova in nearly every single respect. I didn't watch Alexandrova today, but she could've easily lost against Boulter in the previous round had Boulter not been such a headcase.
