Well, she didn't look all that bad in the US Open, but I don't trust her personally. The odds look fair to me.
Elise Mertens to beat Sloane Stephens at 1.76 with Unibet
Mertens has been way better than Stephens in recent times imo, and she will draw confidence from the fact that Gauff won the US Open, as she almost beat her there. You also know that she'll at last fight, while Stephens can be quite disinterested these days.

    Well, that certainly was something...
    N.Djokovic/D.Medvedev - Over 3.5 sets at 1.52 with Unibet
This is the most obvious bet of them all, but I can't really resist. Medvedev was tremendous against Alcaraz, and Djokovic was pumped up against Shelton, surprisingly even. Hoping for it to be interesting!

Like @CzechPunter no plays from me today either. Both matches extremely difficult to call and could really go any way in terms of both the result and total games. Think the lines are set about right.
I would lean on Sabalenka -3.5 games but the odds are tight. She completely outplayed Keys at Wimbledon but both players have been playing so well to this point. In the other I think Gauff will edge it but I just worry about her nerves if the match is close. Muchova didn’t start that well but has been improving in each game. Will just be a watch from me tonight.

You are absolutely right. I like Muchova and she has more versatile style of play. It's a really risky match but I'll trust the form of Gauff, her defence and she should be high on confidence rn. Good luck yall

I appreciate that Gauff blew Ostapenko away in her last match but truth be told the Latvian simply imploded as she does from time to time, hence I am not all in just yet on Gauff, also as she needed three sets to defeat her opponents in every match but the last one. Admittedly her confidence is high and the crowd are giving her great support but I think Muchova is playing at least as well as the American right now, but let's see how it goes. Good luck to you all regardless! 😎👍

Once again you're braver than me to back Gaston after some of his antics. Good luck.

I think the odds are mainly based on the 2 matches this year which were very comfortable. Medvedev tried the exact same tactics in both, standing miles behind the baseline allowing Alcaraz to hit his out wide serve and then either come to the net or play a drop shot as he's so far back. I thought after the first match in Indian Wells that Medvedev would try something different at Wimbledon but he stuck with the same plan & hoped for a different outcome. I find it difficult to back Medvedev based on this because if he does the same again then Alcaraz will likely cruise to another win. Hoping for a good match & fingers crossed Medvedev brings a different approach.

I agree with the general thrust; this acca doesn’t look great at the quoted price and most punters would do better by trying to turn a profit backing singles most of the time. It may well be that one or more of these favs aren’t value at the best available odds and shouldn’t be backed as singles or in an acca.
But if you’re making a profit from singles and it aligns that you can get a value price on two or more players with the same bookie then there’s a strong argument for playing them in doubles or upwards as it will enhance your edge. You just have to accept the greater variance and longer losing runs that come at bigger odds.
By all means stick to singles only as a preferred disciplined approach but, if you’ve got a proven edge, you’d make more money in the long term by taking advantage of the occasional opportunity to combine value prices in doubles or upwards.
Oh, and double digit edges can be had in abundance if you look in the right places but, admittedly, not so much with fixed odds bookies or exchanges.

Looks like you were right about the weather @MJT but Ostapenko is going to bust so quickly that the doubles bet won't have a chance. Still the thinking was sound and there is still time for it to turn around.

    Gauff vs Ostapenko
Before the scheduling was up I thought that Ostapenko would have a great chance in this one but with them playing at 12 noon with the high heat today it certainly now favours Gauff. Ostapenko has struggled in heat in the past & I suspect the same will be the case today. With the sunny & humid conditions along with the crowd support I do feel all of this will get to Ostapenko & cause her to unload on errors including her serve. This is an area she often struggles with & so far she has hit 11, 11, 7 & 3 doubles at the US Open. 2 of those matches were at night & only one of them (Pera hit 7) was close to the time of today's match (not as hot as today). The weather will play a big impact in this for me & I can't imagine Ostapenko will will want to be in long rallies meaning she may well go for more on her 2nd serve. I can see another match where Ostapenko hit's close to or more than 10 double faults.
Ostapenko 7 or more Double Faults @ 1.91 Boylesports
    Ostapenko 8+ Double Faults @ 3.0 Bet365
    Tiafoe vs Shelton
Expecting this one to be a very serve orientated match. Both players are holding serve over 85% of the time on hard courts over the past 12 months so break opportunities may be at a premium in this one. Shelton has a huge serve which has clocked 149mph this week. So I like the chances of 1 or more tie breaks in this along with the likelihood of 4/5 sets. Shelton is not the best returner & as I do think this will involve close sets I like the aces line for Tiafoe. He has hit 15 in both of his last 2 matches & I like that to continue again. I would lean towards a Tiafoe victory given his experience at this level but Shelton has been playing & serving so well this tournament he may just be on a roll.
    Over 39.5 Games @ 1.97 Pinnacle (NAP)
    Tiafoe Over 12.5 Aces @ 1.83 Bet365 (NB)
    Best of luck all

Rodionov should be a save pick as part of a combination.
I just picked him myself in a single bet:
    Ejupovic - Rodionov (-4,5 Games) @ 2.05 | 1/10 👎
Another interesting Match could be this pick:
    Oberleitner - Miedler @ 1,98 | 1/10 👎
And: Sorry if this ist too OT as this thread is about the US Open. I just answered @sterziyskii, because I am from Austria... 😉

I'll probably go with Sabalenka like you, Medvedev and I'm wondering about a third match to add. What do you think about Zheng to win a set or Pegula?
There are also 2 matches that look good on 1.30 odds in Austria Chall that look like a safety bet. Rodionov and Cobolli. Flavio Cobolli is 30/20 W/L this season playing against Sels who is 3/19 W/L this season. Rodionov should not have problems as well against Ejupovic but don't know how many of you need 1.30 odds.

Jakub Mensik (+7.5) to beat Taylor Fritz at 1.63 with Unibet
Fritz has been strolling through his matches so far, but I'm going to oppose him and back Mensik today. Johnson and Varillas were two very different opponents - one an aging force, the other one a clay court specialist that had a good draw luck in round one, facing the under-performing Kecmanovic. Mensik is the top young player on the scene at the moment, and he's serving out of his skin in this US Open, which could be enough to cover this line on its own, as Fritz isn't the best returner out there. The young Czech is free-rolling at this stage, he has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to win, while the crowd will expect perfection from Fritz. I don't see an upset happening, but I do believe that the American will finally be tested.

I have avoided Wickmayer just because I'm also surprised by the odds and I don't really dare touching Vera. Acctually it's both Sonja and Sofia if you want to go by what she calls herself. It's like Cori Gauff and Coco Gauff. I also agree on Burel.

He won his 3 quali games and been serving a lot of aces ; i might split my stake half on 1st set half on ML.

Well SST wins her second International WTA title by frustrating Alexandrova with clever returns and loads of grit. To bad I had to blow all my wins away from yesterday on snooker but my decision to back SST big proved to be a fortunate choice and I'm in the green for the week..

May I ask who is your 150/1 MYSTERY player?
Yes, DVD should REALLY win one finally... (or not)
Anyway, I will try Doets (201) and Pietreczko (126) for 0.25 pts.
One name that struck my eye: Pilgrim at 67... I mean, who is this guy?  Apparently, has has been dominating the Modus Super Series these last couple of weeks... let's see how he fares with his form at a bigger stage... but his odds look too short for me.

Xinyu Wang to beat Makenna Jones 2-0 at 1.73 with William Hill
I'm going down to the ITF level for a pick today. Jones played an incredibly long match against Dolehide yesterday, and I reckon that she'll be quite tired. Moreover, I'd rate her a class below Wang as well, this is a top 300 player facing a top 100 one, so no surprises there. Should be straightforward for the talented Chinese lady.

Yeah I thought Thompson may have given Fritz more of a game. Was never really sure he could beat him though. I would still edge towards Fritz but just concerned with all of the tennis he has played along with the impressive week by Griekspoor.
Tsitsipas has certainly completely dominated the head to head. You would have thought these conditions may give De Minaur a chance though but it's difficult to go against such a record especially given in the 8 official matches he has only lost 2/18 sets.
Was shocked by the level Evans played against Tiafoe. Best match he has played for quite some time. Tiafoe didn't really play that badly either. I still expect Dimitrov to win as you would have to question whether he can play that well again given how he has performed for most of the season.
