Here are the fixtures for this weekend's matches in the Liga Primera de Nicaragua. Let's hear what thoughts you guys have got for these latest games scheduled. Managua, Real Esteli, and Diriangen have now sealed their places in the play-off quarter-finals at least. It's also confirmed that both Deportivo Las Sabanas and Deportivo Ocotal are now unable to qualify for the play-off semi-finals. Something to consider when taking into account the mentality of the teams heading into these games.

Goals from both teams, yet Jalapa won the match. I took the BTTS, low odds, but lucky it came trough.

The probability of the good run coming to an ends is just showing in the half-time of Chinandega 2-0 Juventus Managua.

    Chinandega FC vs Juventus Managua
The fun and frolics in Nicaragua continue tonight with a round of midweek games. Our first preview focuses on the 10pm BST kick-off between Chinandega FC and Juventus Managua at the Estadio Efrain Tijerino Mazariego in Chinandega. Only 1 point separates these two sides so a win for either of them would give a huge boost to their hopes of reaching the play-offs.
Chinandega FC come into this game off the back of a horrendous 7-0 hammering at the hands of CD Walter Ferretti on the weekend. It was a result we saw coming but it wasn't necessarily a score we saw coming. The sending off of Cristhian Medardo Izaguirre Lopez at the end of the first half at 2-0 down was a killing blow. How does Reyna Espinoza pick his side up after such a poor result? It's now 4 league games without a win and 3 of those has resulted in Chinandega FC failing to score. Yes, defence was a problem last game but the attack needs to start accepting responsibility too.
Juventus Managua sit in 6th place and are just inside the play-off places on goal difference. Hector Medina's men are only 1 point ahead of their opponents heading into this match so the landscape could look a lot different if they suffer defeat. However, in Chinandega, they'll see a side that are vulnerable and will be keen to inflict a hammer blow early on. It's now 5 away league games in a row without a victory and that includes no goals scored in 4 of those matches.
If ever there was a game being contested between two sides that will be lacking in self belief heading into a game then this will be it. Given the shambolic scoring statistics held by these two sides over recent weeks I'm not entirely convinced we'll see a lot of goal mouth action. I can see a turgid affair where one team sneaks a win if either has the courage to take the initiative. If I was ever going to back a 0-0 it would be this game but something tells me Chinandega's problems run deeper than Managua's!

How is everyone getting along, whether in your personal isolation quest or braving work to keep the country afloat? We at Punters Lounge are here to try keep your spirits up.

So for April we are delighted to tell you that we are DOUBLING  our normal monthly added value to £300 for our poker league.
The league runs for 4 legs on Wednesday nights, starting time is 8.10pm, with a 10 minute late registration period on top of this.  All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club.  We have a PLO leg in week 3 with the other 3 legs NLHE.
     > Leg 1 : Wednesday 1st April at 20.10 BST in the PL Poker Club Home Game.
     > Leg 2 : 8th April
     > Leg 3 : 15th April - PLO Leg
     > Leg 4 : 22nd April - double entrants in formula *
     > Fun Week : 29th April - details to follow
Buy in is $5.50 per leg.
Your top 3 scores of the 4 legs will count towards your league total. We will be using the usual PL league format, which will be updated in this thread. (The PokerStars own league scores will not be used.) Formula is -Log(position/Entrants)x100
To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 4 ( * so if 12 entries the formula will use 24 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive.
All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league.  Please spread the word and invite your friends so we can get the weekly numbers to keep this league viable.  New players always welcome to join in.

£250 of the added value will be split between the top 3 players at the league end, with £125 to the league champion, £75 to 2nd and £50 to 3rd.
Plus I am placing a weekly £10 bounty on my head (PL-AvonGirl).
I'll set aside the remaining £10 for the winner of whatever game we play in the week 5 fun week (and if I either miss or win a weekly leg I'll add that £10 bounty money to increase this).
All added amounts will be payable via PayPal at the end of the league.  Big thank you to SirPuntalot and Punters Lounge for the added funds.  The league winner will also get Punters Lounge merchandise. See below.

BTTS+Deportivo Ocotal to beat ART Municipal Jalapa at 5.50 with Betfair
Stats say that Ocotal beats Jalapa most of the time at home and also that Jalapa scores at least one goal. Frequent result is 2-1 Ocotal. I think it might be wise to think about the stats sometimes and this could be one of those times.

CD Walter Ferretti vs Chinandega FC
The second preview in this section takes in the mid-table clash between CD Walter Ferretti and Chinandega FC in a midnight BST kick-off on Monday morning at the Estadio Olimpico del IND Managua in Managua. Only 3 points separate these two sides but the bookies are heavily backing a home win. Are they right to favour the one side or is there a sting in the away side's tail?
CD Walter Ferretti might sound like a 5 a side team down your local 3G centre created by some egotistical teenager but they one of the teams that could potentially be considered as dark horses for the title this season. Manager Henry Urbina has led his team to 4th in the table. OK, so they may be 13 points behind league leaders Managua but right now they're heading for the play-offs and if you reach that phase of the season then you're in with a shout. Three league defeats on the bounce is a concern but two of those matches were away from home.
Chinandega FC come into this game fighting against the odds. Reyna Espinoza's side are in 8th place and just 1 point outside the play-off positions. There is very little separating these two sides in the league and they are also without a win in their last three league games. The club is without a win on the round in the Clausura part of their season and scoring goals on their travels is a particular concern.
I have to go with the bookies on this one and back the home side. They might not be in the best form but this is a Chinandega FC side that really can't buy a win on the road at the moment. CD Walter Ferretti will certainly see this as an opportunity to end their winless run and start to rebuild some momentum to give them a bit of hope heading into the play-offs.
    CD Walter Ferretti HT/FT @ 2.25 with Bet365
Correct Score: CD Walter Ferretti to Win 1-0 @ 7.00 with Bet365

The next matches scheduled to take place are coming up tonight with Jalapa vs Juventus Managua at 11pm BST (yes, daylight saving has kicked in!) and CD Walker Ferretti vs Chinandega FC at midnight. A 1-0 win for Real Madriz last night delivered us a 100% record to start our coverage of this league. Let's hope it continues tonight. I'll look to get a preview up of one of these games later on. Give us any bets you're leaning towards! @Xcout, fancy getting on board and helping me out?

Glad to seem some attention to Liga MX, this round was played behind close doors, which made me avoid taking a bet, and afterwards the league was suspended. I hope when play resumes this attention continues.

    Xcout got a reaction from StevieDay1983 in MLS Predictions > Mar 7th - 9th
On its 25th season, the MLS is focused on continue its growth and elevating the quality of their product, as the league level is not where they want to be.
The MLS, single entity in which each teams are owned by the league and individually operated by the league's investors and in which the revenue is shared, key point that has lead to the creation of the Designated Player (DP) to bring the best youth and consolidated talent to the league and push further growth. It is a different way to organize football:
No promotion/relegation, a draft for upcoming talent, an expansion draft (for upcoming teams to gather talent from teams in the league), homegrown funds, teams required affiliation to USL teams or field own reserve side in the USL, same salary cap for all teams (with exceptions as DP rules, allocation money, etc), divided by eastern and western conference, more than two matches per season against some teams, meanwhile against other only one match per season.
The valuation of the league is on the rise, recently huge sums have been paid to have new expansion sides, yet the real financials are not know, but the league acknowledges that the majority of its clubs do not turn a profit. A recently agreed CBA provides stability and gains for the players. One of the added benefits of the league to lure talent is the life in the United States can be calm and safe compared to many other places, many players that have left Liga MX for MLS have stated this. MLS has worked correctly in regards of playing in smaller soccer-specific stadiums, closely located to the community and to foster connection with their communities to generate loyal fan bases, as seen with LA FC, Atlanta United, Orlando City, Toronto FC, etc.
Meanwhile the expansion teams are a positive sign for the league, in my opinion it is lowering the quality of the league. One aspect of this can be seen with the offered odds, some are really low, not worth taking the risk. A lot of teams put their money in the offensive side of things and rarely focus on defending, which leads to low odds in certain markets and to the point in which Zlatan Ibrahimovic had no problem to be an dominating star.  A positive aspect is that there are upsets, but with more expansions sides, they will be fewer in this season and the nexts ones.  A fascinating league once you get the hold of it, but the football level leaves a lot to desire, the quality has improved nevertheless, but MLS has still along way to go. Expect more of the five dominating teams from last seasons:  Seattle Sounders, Toronto FC, Atlanta United, Portland Timbers and Los Angeles FC.
