1. Re: Matt Chapman .....

Not always a fan of Nick Luck but thought he did well in his analysis of the Europeans on Breeders Cup night.
I think he's a terrific presenter.......... and yes, he did a good job..........but then I guess he only had a dozen horses to research for a 2 day meeting.......
2. Re: Matt Chapman ..... thanks bowles........Dave Nevison is the man........ I recall one of the first Kempton evening meetings I watched.........it was Lydia and Dave and a two year old race was coming up and he said before the race that he had £ 200 at 25/1 on an unraced one called 'Mullionmileanhour'..........it duly scooted in ! I was a bit taken aback to see Nick Luck on the Breeders Cup show as the 'International Turf Expert'...........:unsure I always thought he was the 'presenter' with form experts as his co-commentators.........

3. Re: Matt Chapman ..... Lydia & Mellish is the top team............:D I really don't dislike any of them much......... I like Luke Harvey............he's a little bundle of fun Sean Boyce.........very understated Even Robert 'Deer In The Headlights' Cooper has a wicked sense of humour..... The blond girl.......Alex ?.......on ATR, she's gorgeous !........I think she used to do the evening racing on Sky Sports 10 years ago ! Jason Weaver is a bit wooden and 'stiff' but obviously knows his stuff Not that keen on Jonathan Neeson on RUK.......... I like that one who's a bit of a 'roué' on RUK, can't remember his name, the one who wrote the book about betting and birds.........he always says where his money is and sometimes says how much ! But.......Lydia is the Queen of Racing Telly............grrrrrrrr..........:nana

4. Re: Matt Chapman ..... I quite like him as well...........:clap I've only been watching ATR for maybe a year and at first I thought he was a pain in the bum with his 'I want to be the new McCririck' act........but over time I've seen his own personality come through the 'act' and he's actually very likeable......... I love that Sunday Forum programme but they've moved it to 9.00 AM..........grrrrr, there's a limit to what time a chap can get up on a Sunday............:eek

Re: Best bet of the day 27th Oct
Leicester 3.30 - Red Somerset - EW Only CD winner in the field, acts on good-soft, claiming jockey has won on it before Won a couple of races off 85 in the summer and is now on 87 Ignore last run over 10 furlongs, it's record over 10 furlongs is shocking, better suited by return to a mile. Curently around 20/1.........
Grrrrr............4th Every time I do an EW it seems to finish 4th.........:wall I wish someone would clip me round the head when I'm considering an EW flutter.............:lol

9. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Sunday 26th Longchamp 2.50 - Moonstone - Win Second in the Epsom Oaks and Irish Oaks winner......she won that race with stamina rather than speed and this step up to 17 furlongs looks ideal Had a 'prep' run in the group one Opera at the Arc meeting, where not surprisingly she finished well beaten back at 10 furlongs but hopefully that will have blown the cobwebs away after her summer break Looks a hot race this year with Yeats, Getaway, Bannaby, Allegretto, Watar and Moonstone...........but I'm going for the one with the 'classic' form. She gets all the allowances as a three year old filly and the three year old fillies are not a bad lot this year......... Moonstone - Win

10. Re: Longchamp 26/10/08 I fancy 'Moonstone' for the big race........Irish oaks winner, she won that race with stamina rather than speed and this step up to 17 furlongs looks ideal Had a 'prep' run in the group one Opera at the Arc meeting, where not surprising she finished well beaten back at 10 furlongs but hopefully that will have blown the cobwebs away after her summer break I think maybe for a lot of these this race ia an afterthought after the Cadran, whereas Moonstone looks like she's been aimed at this race. Same goes for Allegretto, who I make the main danger. She won this race last year and is in good form going into this years renewal. Looks a hot race this year with Yeats, Getaway, Bannaby, Allegretto, Watar and Moonstone...........but I'm going for the one with the 'classic' form. Moonstone - Win

11. Re: Aintree Sunday 26/10/08 3.15 Monet's Garden - win Goes well fresh, CD winner, won this race before - everything is in his favour. Voy and Exotic Dancer appear to 'need a run' each season and also tend to get beaten in handicaps (on the rare occasions they run in them) Oslot is up 20-odd pounds from his win in Ireland.........and being the Nicholls horse is probably going off at a third of his true value and making the market for everything else. I've decided not to pick any Nicholls horses this season............if one of his looks like a winner I'll leave the race alone. If one of his is at ridiculous odds because of the trainers name, I'll look for something to beat it at false big odds...............:unsure

12. Re: Henry & Duke Retired!!! On the plus side I hear that Goldikova will stay in training.......... Haven't heard about Raven's Pass........I suppose they might keep him in training as he's blossomed quite late and it might be tempting to try and win 4 or 5 group ones next year at 8 and 10 furlongs. But they'll probably bung him off to stud.......... I'm guessing that Conduit will stay in training and try and win some 12 furlong groups ones in Europe..........to 'rescue' his stud value after winning the Leger........:unsure

13. Re: Santa Anita (Breeders Cup Meeting) 25/10

Zakarva, New Approach, Ravens Pass. who's the best flat horse of the year? tough one.
Despite tonight.........still Zarkava for me ! She's beaten Goldikova a couple of times and Goldikova has beaten Ravens Pass and Henry.......... Brilliant season of Group One racing in Europe though with lots of superstars............
14. Re: Santa Anita (Breeders Cup Meeting) 25/10

jumped on the curlin bandwagon' date=' never thought this horse would be around 2/1 mark at any stage before now. The europeans will find it difficult to crack this one although Henry may give it most to do.[/quote'] Curlin is odds-on in America...........4/5...........:loon Ravens Pass 20/1 over there, 10/1 here...........he's the one I'd be on...... Improving all season.........overtaken Henry now The Duke looked tired in the Arc. Don't know much about the other US runners.........
15. Re: Chepstow - 25/10/08 Chepstow 1.50 - Blaeberry - EW Won first time out for the last 2 seasons and trainer in good form already this year. Likes decent ground, going report is 'good'. Trip no problem, booking of AP McCoy a big bonus ! Theatre Girl looks a big danger and there's Lead On and the two Nicholls horses, so it's a wide open contest. My one is currently 14/1, which I think is good EW value. She has a good turn of foot so I'm expecting McCoy to deliver her with a devasting late run...........
