  1. I guess we've all used Massey's site...........well, I've come across a new site giving free daily ratings......... http://advancedratings.sports.officelive.com/free_uk_horse_racing_ratings.aspx Looks like you can get them by e-mail with a bit of extra info but the basic ratings are free to view, just click on the date on the left hand side of the screen. The ratings go up about 11.30 AM for that days racing......... Checked out todays races and they had 3 top-rated winners at each meeting - Folkestone, Fakenham and Wolves - today.........so 9 top-rated winners from 20 races. Mostly favourites, but not all

  2. Re: New RP Wesbite Well, I still think it's not very 'user-friendly' for navigating around........... eg, it's now 11 pm and there's no obvious link direct to 'tomorrow's cards'...........you've got to faff around going through that 'calender' dropdown......... also i find that nothing opens just by a normal 'click', eg horses form page.........I have to right click and select 'open in new window'......... I'm used to the old site...........I'm more worried about what they're going to take off from the 'free site' to encourage people to subscribe to the paid-for site........

  3. Re: Best bet of the day 1st Dec Cheers fin..........I needed that one after a losing run of 14........:loon Three different selections going in the 5.10 at Wolves........was about to jump in the bath but I think I'll hang back and watch that first.........:D Good luck to the three of you...........:ok

  4. Re: Best bet of the day 1st Dec Folkestone 1.00 - Don't Be Bleu - win Only 4 runners line up for the novice chase and this one is on her chase debut. She was the best of the 4 over hurdles and has 3 wins to her name which at least shows an ability to get her head in front It looks like a poor race and she won't have to be special to win on her chase debut. Trainer P Bowen knows how to train chasers, viz Snoopy Loopy, Yes Sir etc, so hopefully she'll be well schooled to jump the fences.

  5. Re: Best Bet Of The Day Tables ~ November 2008 Well done Fin...........:clap.........and everyone who finished up in the black......:clap I've had a shocker after being in the top 2 or 3 for the last few months - my confidence is shot with this losing run of 14...........:loon I'll be glad to see the end of November.........start again !..........:tongue2 As my namesake might say 'this time next month I'll be a millionaire'........:tongue2 Thanks to BH.........:ok

  6. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 29th

Interesting stat about the horse's record in this race' date=' but what do you think in the change of trainer from Paul Nicholls. Good luck but I feel there must be a reason the horse has been sold.[/quote'] I guess that Nicholls has to get rid off 30/40 horses every year to make room for his new batch of French imports..........and pure handicappers are probably the ones that go............ Finished 3rd at 20/1.........I had to do it 'win only' for the comp as I'm so far behind...........:loon
  7. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 29th Newbury 1.35 - Saintsaire - Win Has won this race for the last two years on seasonal debut Best fresh, this is probably his seasonal target again, should be fit and ready to go Course, distance, ground all perfect........... Went off the boil last season after a couple of good early runs, including his win in this race. As a result his handicap mark has slipped back down into the 130s from a high of 145. Won this last year off 131.

  8. Re: Best bet of the day Fri 28th Nov Kempton 8.50 - Bellomi - win Has won it's last 2 races at 7 furlongs, a class 2 Epsom handicap off 85 and a Newmarket claimer which he won easily as he was entitled to as a 4/6 odds on shot In between those runs he ran in a top handicap, the Britannia at Royal Ascot, over 8 furlongs, where he was up with the leaders for 6 furlongs before fading away. Seems to be a 7 furlong specialist and all his wins have been on good or good to firm so the track should suit. He's up 5 lbs from his last handicap win but down in class from class 2 to class 3 Lightly raced 3 year old, normal growth and progression should see him improve 5 lb since that win in June..........:hope

  9. Re: BEST BET OF THE DAY Wed 26th November Kempton 3.15 - Boomshakalaka - Win Has won twice here at Kempton including first time out last season Then disappointed twice at Cheltenham, but if he's a 'Kempton horse' you wouldn't expect him to go well at Cheltenham. Seems best fresh, distance and track no problem, trainer in terrific form Was 4/1 in the SL forecast but has been backed into 7/4 favourite this morning...........the money's down !

  10. Re: Best Bet of the Day 25/11/08

12:30 Lingfield Sophies Trophy Trainer P M Phelan has an excellent record here at trips of at least 11 furlongs: 11f-12f = 2 wins from 4 starts (+16.25lsp) 13f+ = 1 win from 1 start (+3.00lsp) 3 wins from 3 (+21.25lsp) with 3yo's. Those are runners on the flat and stats that might be useful for this race. Phelans last two winners at this course raced for 11f (19Nov) and 13f (13Nov). 3 of 6 bumper starters the past 5 seasons from Phelan finished in the top 3. 1pt win
Fantastic pick mate !..........terrific research ! Just hope you had some money each way !..........
  11. Re: Best Bet of the Day 25/11/08 Southwell 2.10 - Captain Imperial - Win Looks sure to appreciate step up to a mile and his best runs have been with cut in the ground so should be fine on the surface - he's a 'Captain Rio' ! Trainer in decent form - only 4 runners in last 14 days but one won and 2 were placed Likely favourite is Prescott's runner but this is her 3rd outing and she might be 'running for a handicap mark'..........:unsure

  12. Re: Haydock - 22/11/08 Great call !.........:nana I might have been tempted by Tamarinbleu EW as I remember him winning a Grade One race around this time last year, was it Ascot or cheltenham ?, at about 16/1.......... But I thought old Snoopy had no chance !............:unsure

  13. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Friday 21/11/08 Wolv 9.20 - Ryedale Ovation - Win Been in good form with a first and second in his last 2 races. Unless the sporting life site is playing tricks again it appears that he's gone down a pound in the weights since winning two races ago, which seems strange, but obviously gives him a good chance. Not run here before but has won on the all weather and goes on any going on turf so the surface shouldn't be a problem..........

  14. Re: Best Bet Of The Day -20/11/08 7.20 - Great Leighs - Not My Choice - Win Ran well here 2 runs ago off tonights mark when 3rd to Arganil, who went on to win a good handicap at Wolverhampton next time out. That run was over 5 furlongs and Not My Choice was staying on at the finish. He'd previously won over 6F at Chester, so will probably be better suited by tonights trip. He's won twice at Chester and I'm wondering if Chester is a bit simlar to GL, left hand turning track.......... Trainer has hit form with 2 winners at Kempton last night and he has Catlin on board ..............

  16. Re: Great Leighs 20/11/08 6.50 - Silvanus - Win Least exposed of tonights runners with just 7 career runs. Had 4 runs on turf before breaking his maiden on his AW debut 3 runs ago. That was over 5 furlongs. Stepped up to 6 furlongs for his handicap debut but pulled hard held up in rear and never got going. Back to 5 furlongs last time and ran a much improved race, finishing third to Sands Crooner and is weighted to reverse places with that one having the penalty tonight. Reading his form it looks like he's getting the hang of it and wouldn't need to improve much on his last run to be involved in the finish tonight.

  17. Re: Warwick ~ Wed 19/11/08

1st Fourpointone @ 9/2 :nana Happy with that and a nice price.
Well done Tipster........:ok I'm not so happy with that !..........mine was done a head on the line after leading all the way for three and a quarter miles........ I'm giving up !!...............:wall
  18. Re: Warwick ~ Wed 19/11/08 Warwick 3.20 - Amoreigh - Win Topweight, 11 years old but relatively lightly raced with only 18 runs. Both his wins have come on LH sharp tracks on soft/heavy ground, both at Plumpton, but should go well here at warwick which is a similar track. Both his wins have been in todays race class, class 5. Although he is up a few pounds since his last win he can still get into class 5 races and has won before off top weight Well beaten on his seasonal return a month ago but that was on good to firm on a RH track............ Expect a much bolder show today !
