  1. Re: best bet of the day - sun 1st nov Ling - 2.30 - King Supreme - win Hannon's runner looks to have a good chance here off a mark of 72, having already won off 75 earlier in the season Steps up in trip today to 13 furlongs but has good form over 12 and a small field should help. Both his last 2 wins have come in small field races where he lies up behind the pace and sprints away at the finish Has no course wins to his name but finished a head second in a handicap here in March (2 lbs lower today) so the track is no problem Jadalee looks the obvious danger but this appears to be his minimum trip and his recent good runs have been over further or on stiffer tracks. Even his run here last time was one of the rare occasions when the Lingfield going was 'Standard to Slow'........I just think this might be a bit sharp for him and he won't be able to match the finishing speed of the selection.

  2. Re: LINGFIELD - sunday - 01/11/2009 Aside for the AW fans............. Remember last week at Kempton.........2YO maiden race with Frankie and someone else fighting out a finish when something came from out of Siberia and mugged them both on the line..........it was the one where Frankie stopped to watch the replay because he couldn't believe it...... Well........that horse was Prizefighting and that was his racecourse debut. He's going straight in to Group One company at St Cloud today - live on ATR at 1.00 pm !

  4. Re: Get In !!!

There is all ways one Trotter. i thought if this was a regular thing on a friday bight with ATR maybe a thread just for selections would be sorted. if not Mod can move me over to Wolver
A separate thread is probably a good idea - it might remind people to enter the comp even if they're not reading the Wolves thread. Be even better if somebody started the thread earlier in the day - I'm likely to forget to do this comp some weeks unles somebody reminds me !.........:lol There's no comp next week because of the Breeders Cup ps Good start !.........:ok
  5. Re: Wolverhampton 30th Oct (AW) (eve)

Trotter' date=' what is this ATR Tipping comp?[/quote'] Every friday night they have a free comp on the last 6 races at Wolverhampton as part of the 'Get In' show on ATR channel Basically you have to spread 100 points across a selection in each race. The winer is the one who wins most at SP over the six races. They cover it fully on the telly show. Enter at the website - you have to register as a member first It's free and there's a prize...........:lol
  6. 7. Re: Wolverhampton 30th Oct (AW) (eve) Apart from my BBotD above I'm going for a few big price EW shots 6.20 Kirstys Lad Four times CD winner, was in good form this time last year with a win, a 2nd and a 3rd in a 3 week period - all at this track Has had a break over the summer and a couple of races in the last few weeks where he made a bit of progress during the run but was never put in contention. Getting him fit runs. 6.50 Fiefdom Old timer who's dropping down the weights but still capable of putting in the odd decent effort. Usually runs over shorter trips than this and I'm hoping that the slower pace at this trip might keep him involved until the finish. Has been noted running on late in a few of his recent runs 8.20 - Flaxen Lake 3 runs and in to a nursery. Not looked at this in any great depth but this fellow is top of my AW speed ratings of those who have run on polytrack. He beat Blue Neptune in a maiden race last time he ran and that one is a third of his odds tonight 9.20 - Bold Ring When she does put in a half decent effort it tends to be at this track having finished 4th on her last 3 runs. Steps back up to 7 furlongs tonight and that might just be enough to get her in the places. Though being realistic - EW shots do tend to finish 4th.............:unsure EW Yankee

  8. Re: Wolverhampton 30th Oct (AW) (eve) Wolv 7.50 - Bahamian Lad - win Four times CD winner, only 2 lbs up for his last win Looks to have an impossible task with Green Park who beat him 5 lengths here a couple of runs ago but Green Park had the run of the race, slipping up a gap on the inside whilst Bahamian Lad was drawn out wide and always behind. Bahamian Lad resumed his progress next time with a win at Kempton and can maintain his upward curve back on his favourite track

  10. Re: Best bet of the day 29th Oct Wolv - 5.30 - Mayoman - win This looks pretty good for a class 6 with 4 last time out winners in the field, 3 of which won in class 5 last time out Todber is a very short price - looked impressive a few days ago but the second has been beaten since to let the form down, the time was nothing special and she might struggle from a low draw if she;s held up again. Could find herself blocked in with nowhere to go Can't see any reason why Charles Darwin couldn't win - won here last time and is still well handicapped if anywhere near his form of a year ago. But he is a bit in and out and the chance of him winning 2 in a row appear slim on his career record. I like Mayoman at bigger odds. Won here last time, the third won next time out, it was a decent time, he's lightly raced and seems to have improved after joining his current trainer, who's got 2 wins and a place out of him in 5 runs

  12. Re: Wolverhampton 29th Oct (AW) (Late Afternoon Card) 4.30 What a shocker for a class 5 handicap sprint..........it looks a lot worse than the class 6 in an hours time. Summat is going to win it and Cayman Fox is the most likely. He's been running pretty well over this CD. I'd quite like to oppose him because he has a really annoying habit of getting done in the last 50 yards and I expect if he was to win today he'll be hanging on for dear life at the finish, but it's difficult to see what might come out of the pack and run him down. Fly in the ointment could be Bluebok who's another front runner and might take on Cayman Fox, in which case the Fox will probably fold in the last furlong like he usually does. I thought Almaty Express might be a 20/1 shot given his recent form and was looking at him for an EW flutter - but he's down at 3/1 at the moment and might be vying for favouritism. It's either desperation or somebody knows something ! He's certainly 'well in' on his form last winter and loves this track, but his recent form is poor.

  13. Re: Lingfield 29th Oct (AW) Just had my first look through the runners and I can't get excited about this card...........2 Listed races and 2 2YO races, there doesn't seem to be much AW form on offer.......... Particularly with the Listed races it looks like they've imported a novelty act from Newmarket................:unsure Might stick to the handicaps.........

  14. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Wed 28th Oct Kempton 8.20 - Monashee Rock - win Ran a cracker over CD in a Claiming race 2 runs ago - I'm keeping track because that race has thrown up lots of winners. Tried at 7 furlongs last time and finished 4th when not getting a clear run. I'm hoping for an improved show back over this CD. Well handicapped now, 12 lbs below his last winning mark

  15. Re: Kempton 28th Oct (AW) (eve) 7.50 - The Grey One - win Usually runs his race, consistant type. Won last time out and only up 2 lbs. Might just be coincidence but he won a couple of races in this week last year.- - last week of October, maybe it's his time of year 8.20 - Monashee Rock - win Ran a cracker over CD in a Claiming race 2 runs ago - I'm keeping track because that race has thrown up lots of winners. Tried at 7 furlongs last time and finished 4th when not getting a clear run. I'm hoping for an improved show back over this CD. Well handicapped now, 12 lbs below his last winning mark 8.50 - Defector - win Defector and Millfield look to be the two to concentrate on here. Millfield beat Defector recently and is now 2 lbs worse off for under a length. Not much between them. I think todays small field and lack of obvious pacemakers will count against Millfield, who tends to pull hard when held up off a slow pace. Defector might make all if no one else goes to the front. 9.20 Giant Sequoia - win Was pretty impressive last time when winning his second in a row and a hat trick looks on the cards. Has the beating of Little Sark on a line through a horse that's finished 2nd to both of them in the last coupleof runs. Little Sark is pretty big odds though - looks good for a place.

  16. Re: Southwell 27th Oct (AW) 3.20 Lucky Punt - win agree with chris on this one Course form seals it for the selection over his main market rival, Trip The Light, who's gone up 5lbs for a short head win last time, and doesn't have Hanagan on today. The selection is up in class and up in trip so don't think he should be as short as he is, but in this small field I can see him making all and saving something for the race finish. Seems like he's a bit of a battler

  17. Re: Best Bet of the day - 27t Oct Southwell 2.50 Strike Up The band - win Hasn't won for a while, probably a bit too high in handicaps and not quite good enough for group races, but this looks easier today. Unprovan at the track but handles soft ground and hopefully won't be getting any kickback 'cos he'll be in front all the way. Turn On The Style is probably better but he needed a run last year and as he gets older he's more likely to need a run or two

  19. Re: Lingfield 26th Oct (AW) 2.50 Tinaar - win Difficult to see beyond the favourite here, tho' her odds are much shorter now than the overnight forecasts suggested. ( while I've been typing this she's gone from 6/4 to 5/4) Finished a close up 3rd last time in a class 3 handicap and drops back to class 4 today. She's gone up 2lbs for finishing 3rd which seems a bit harsh, the horses that have run again from that class 3 have both been well beaten and she's now 8 lbs higher than her last win. So I wouldn't blame anyone for laying her - but she just seems to be an improver, is lightly raced, cost $ 400,000, has Ryan Moore up.
