  1. Re: Draw Bias and information ow1 is overweight 1 lb oh1 would be 'out of the handicap' 1 lb If you're not sure what 'out of the handicap' means.............a horse might be set to carry 8-4 in a handicap according to his rating but there is a minimum weight of 8-7. Therefore he would have to carry 8-7 even tho' he's rated at 8-4..........that would be oh3

  2. Re: Draw Bias and information I think part of the confusion is that different people use different terms for the same thing So on a left hand track High and Low would be the same as Outside and Inside Some people might also say that the stalls are on the Stands side or the Far side...........you've got to visualise the racetrack to know what that means.............depends where the Stands are !

  3. Re: Frankel V Black Caviar - £1million Prize Fund Well I'm a bit torn on this one...........I'd hate to think that racing would go down the route of big money 'matches' with connections hyping their charges to get the purse money up It could end up as a circus act like boxing - totally irrelevant as a modern sport. A pale imitation of WWE Wrestling On the other hand.,...........Frankel v Black Caviar..............mouthwatering !

  4. Re: BBotD - Wed 4th April 2012 Ling 4.00 - Galiotto - win at 17/2 Corals As befits a low grade staying handicapper this horse is an in and out type. In his last two runs over this CD he's won by 7 lengths then next time lost by 8 lengths Hopefully today he'll bring his A game with Ryan Moore booked and a visor replacing blinkers. His last couple of wins have involved changes of headgear The horses ahead of him in the market are unprovan at the trip and the only other CD winner in the field is well held from their last meeting

  5. Re: RP E-mail I agree Mr W.............once you get used to the Post you can't go anywhere else Having just become a member today though I'm struggling I've got 3 sets of ratings now - mine, RPR and Topspeed...........too many figures confusing me. I'm chasing my tail around in a circle..............:loon

  6. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 3rd of April Sedge 5.00 - Willie Hall - win at 3/1 bog bet365 Won last time out over this CD and should handle the deteriorating ground, now soft Mark looks ok, he wasn't put up for winning the beginners chase, and has run to marks within 5 or 6 pounds of todays over hurdles The current favourite has PUF against his name and looks an iffy jumper I think the biggesty danger is that the meeting is abandonned before the 5.00.......

  7. Re: RP E-mail

What have the price increases been and when are they being introduced? For the basic package' date=' which I'm on it says £2.50 a week (think it was £2 before), yet I just took a look a look at my account and it says I'm charged £8.67 a month, which doesn't add up![/quote'] Not sure about it but I gather that as they were unable to make the technical changes a month ago they delayed the price increase ? So it will probably go up next time you pay...........
  8. Re: RP E-mail grrrr.........My Ratings has gone from the free service :loon I suppose I'll have to join up now..............I've got to decide which of my 3 accounts to keep going and which two to ditch Have to have a think about this

  9. Re: RP E-mail They did say a month ago that 'My Notes' would no longer be on the free service.........and I assumed that would include 'My Ratings' as being part of 'My Notes' As it turned out a month ago I could carry on using My Ratings From the e-mail today it seems that for some reason they never actually made the changes they said they would last month............but they are going to do it tonight (site closed from 10 pm) First thing in the morning I'll have to see if My Ratings is still available or not.......if not I'll have to have a rethink about what i do.

  10. A month or so ago the RP put up it's charges for the various Membership schemes and jiggled them around a bit At the time there was some posts here regarding things that might disappear from the 'free' service and I posted a day or two after the change that I hadn't really noticed any difference.......... Well, I've got an e-mail today informing me that the changes that should have happened a month ago will be happening tonight Thought it might be an idea to have a thread where we can post up any changes to the service that we notice....... I'm particularly worried that I might lose the 'My Ratings' service which is currently free and on which I've got about 3 years worth of speed ratings. I've also got two other accounts on which I store different kinds of ratings. So it's OK to say it's a tenner or so a month, just pay up..............but I've got 3 accounts with different stuff stored on them all. ....................obviously I don't want to have to join 3 times and pay £ 30 a month to keep my 3 sets of data and ratings on the go

  11. Re: Best Bet of The Day Monday 2nd of April Kelso - 3.30 - Kai Broon - win at 6/4 Bet VC Looks to have a cracking chance here after a decent 2nd on chase debut over this CD Mark looks ok as he's won off 1 lb lower in a handicap hurdle and acts on the going. Yard in decent nick and they won this race last year Main market rival goes for a hatrick but isn't sure to handle the faster ground and is up 10 lbs

  12. Re: BBotD April 1st

Ok I'm not sure if it drifted in just before I posted the above or just after but it is now 25/1 with Bet365' date=' the best odds at the minute are with Stan James/Coral at 28/1. Being new to the competition can someone let me know what happens with this now? Since it is with Bet365 it is BOG anyway so will I just let it go to see what way it moves before the start?[/quote'] If the price changes whilst you're posting just post again with a short note to that effect and quote the new price In this case the price shortened to 25/1 just 2 minutes before your post, so you should be on at 25/1 BOG BET365 If you don't repost quickly with a changed price you'll end up being on at SP
  13. Re: Sunday 1st April Flat Racing Here3's my BBotD as posted up late last night.........since i posted Jeer has come in to 9/2 but is no longer favourite - Arizona John (th Post selection) has jumped to the head of the market

    Donc 1.35 - Jeer - win at 5/1 bog
    Bet365
17 runner Amateur Riders handicap..........but I think the current fave will take all the beating Jeer won this race last year, he's the only CD winner in the field (only 6 of the 17 have won at this trip) He gets to run here off a one pound lower mark than he ran off last year and he's in good nick having won last tme out on the all weather Gets a top jumps amateur, Olly Greenall, in the saddle - his record in relatively few flat outings is pretty good He's a front or prominant runner and has a low draw to get to the inside All in all - solid favorites chance in a race where only a handful appear to be realistic contenders

Not sure why but when you C&P posts across threads it seems to indent or tab them......:unsure

  15. Re: Top sire Montjeu has passed away RIP Montjeu...... Unfortnuately I missed his entire career as it happened whilst I was on a break, so I never saw him run :spank On Jay's more general point......... I post a lot on a general discussion forum and every year at The National time and Cheltenham people post threads saying how cruel racing is and shouldn''t it be banned. Isn't it awful how they whip the horses and the jockeys should be whipped, see how they like it. And if a horse hurts it's leg they shoot it cos it costs money to feed and if it can't run they don't want it any more etc etc etc And other people come on to defend the sport, saying how the horses live a life of luxury, how they're so much better off than other livestock like cows, how they can't make them run if they don't want to, how the whip doesn't hurt very much , etc, etc I used to take part in these debates (in the second camp !) but I've given up Fact is that you can't argue with people who argue from a point of no knowledge - informed argument is meaningless when 3 horses have just died in one race at Cheltenham I've now come to the conclusion that actually I know it's a bit cruel, I know horses will get killed........and the truth is that it's a price I can live with That's not really a position that you can argue against animal loving housewives

  16. Re: BBOTD Thursday 29th of March Kemp 8.25 - Alhaban - ew at 14/1 stan james Is in cracking form and won a CD handicap last time by 3 lengths With his penalty and a 3lb rise he's now 9lbs higher which makes this tougher, but he won quite easily last time and looks to be improving at the age of 6. He is quite lightly raced having missed a couple of years after running in group races at two
