  1. Re: BBOTD - Monday 11th of February Wolv 4.30 -0 Noble jack - win at 7/2 bluesquare Been in cracking form, winning his last two, and has won 5 out of 5 at Wolves. His only defeat here was when they tried him over 12 furlongs, so he's unbeaten in 4 at arond the 8/9 furlongs trips Was slowly away last time and still won so he might have more in hand if he gets away level

  2. Re: BBOTD - Monday 11th of February Plumpton 2.20 - Ohio gold - win at 15/8 bog bet365 With Dare Me a likely non runner it seems only 4 will turn out for the novice chase and surprisingly Ohio Gold is 3rd favourite, although the first 3 are all around the same odds He's had a couple of novice chases since returning to action this season In the first he finished 2nd to Majala, who won a Grade 2 next time out On his 2nd run he finished 2nd to Fago, who next time was about to win a Grade 2 when he fell at the last Form looks pretty solid, the step up in trip should suit him as his novice hurdle wins were at this distance and he's looked a bit one-paced in the finish against those Grade horses over shorter trips He won a novice hurdle at Plumpton so can handle the tight turning track

  3. Re: BBOTD Sunday 10th Feb 2.20 Sou - Hazard Warning - win at 15/8 bog bet365 Has a lot going for him today as he's the only winner in the field and the only one with track experience and has the best recent speed fig He appeared to handle fibresand OK when 3rd here last November. Has been gradually getting the hang of things and won last time out at Wolves

  4. Re: BBOTD Saturday 9th february Newb 2.25 - Junior - EW at 28/1 bog bet victor Fingers crossed that there's no non runner and we've got the dead 8 with a field full of horses who are better over shorter trips and several of whom are old rogues anyway Junior is basically a good handicapper but he stays, froint runs and acts on the going. I think he could well make this a test of stamina and a few of these won't fancy that Silviniaco Conti is a bit short at odds on - he's the class act here but they won't want to kill him a month before the Gold Cup and he's never won in the winter months of Dec, Jan, Feb despite usually going off favourite. This looks very easy for a Grade 2 though and he might well win without putting his best foot forward

  5. Re: BBOTD Thursday 7th February Donc 4.35 - Sacre Toi - win at 3/1 bog betvictor In form horse with a 2nd and a win in his last 2 runs. Acts on soft and heavy, has apparently improved since dropping to around the minimum and looks pretty game and genuine Winning jockey brian Huighes keeps the ride and the yard look in decent form with a winner and 2nd with their last 2 runners before today

  6. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 6th

Great winner that mate' date=' taking on a short priced favourite I'm sure a lot of people lumped on today. Well done![/quote'] Cheers...........Vulcanite had drifted like the proverbial barge because he was 4/9 last night when I was looking at the race but he went off at Evens ! So it seems like nobody fancied him !..................:loon
  7. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 6th 2.20 Carlisle - Kealigolane - win at 6/1 bog PP Only 4 runners in the novice chase and there's a well odds-on favourite in Vulcanite who i think might be worth taking on. He's obviously a class above the other 3 but he's a Flat bred horse and he might not have the stamina for a testing track like Carlisle on heavy ground giving weight away. He folded pretty tamely last time when asked to go a furlong over the minimum at Plumpton, admittedly against much better opposition. I'm taking the chance that he won't get home up the Carlisle hill and an inferior horse with more stamina will prevail That horse is Kealigolane who has won over 3 furlongs further and acts on heavy. He's won on a testing track at Sedge. He's a front runner and has every chance of an uncontested lead in this small field. Has to bounce back from a below par run last time but on that occasion he was taken on for the lead with some way to go and hopefully he'll get more leeway today

  8. Re: BBOTD 3rd Feb Sunday Ling 1.40 - Darkest Night - win at 5/2 bog bet365 Looking to take on the odds-on fave here. The 'Taxi' has won it's last 3 but they've all been poor races and she hasn't run any decent speed figs. She's been winning at Kemp and Wolv and I'm not sure this sharper test will suit Today is a poor race as well but Darkest Night is a last time out CD winner, has the best speed figs and the form of his win has been franked with the 2nd winning since There probably won't be much pace on here and i can see it coming down to a one furlong sprint and I might as well go for the horse with the best speed figs.

  9. Re: BBOTD Saturday 2nd February Oh my god...............it's official, I've finally gone doolally...............:wall Instalment 3................I'm in time because I had the race time wrong, it';s the 2.25 ! So, to confirm....Sand2.25 - Changing times - win at 9/1 bog Bet365 Reasoning as above I'm off to lie down...................:ok

  10. Re: BBOTD Saturday 2nd February

Sand 1.50 - Changing times - win at 9/1 bog bet365 Going to take a chance that Captain Conan will falter over this trip. The trainer always said he was a 2 miler and they're obviously trying 20F because they have Simonsig for the Arkle and there's no point taking on his stablemate for the Captain. I expect they're going to ride him with exagerrated holding up to get the trip and there's a chance they might leave him too much to do Doesn't seem to be much between the other 3............Changing times is best right-hamded, acts on heavy, won last time out and can make the running and set the pace. He stays well and could lead them a merry dance if they get the pace right on this heavy ground
Oh geez.........sorry BH, my one finger typing lets me down and I've missed the 10 minute cut off I'll be gutted if he wins.............. Come on the Captain !...............:D

  12. Re: BBOTD 1st Feb 2013 7.30 Wolv - Shawkantango - win at 14/1 bet365 Dual CD winner, has been dropping down the weights and and is now just a pound higher than a mark he's won off twice Been getting closer in his last few runs and might ready to strike now Likes to come from behind and there's a front runner in Crimson Queen drawn low who might well make a decent pace I like Crimson Queen for a big price EW shot

  13. Re: Post site re-vamp

You can change the bookie in the customise card drop down menu or change the card to odds comparison. It was better though when you could hover over the price & it told you who was best. Rio.
thanks !............I hadn't noticed that I've changed it back to Best Odds...........:ok
  14. Appears to have been a re-vamp of the racecards at the Racing Post site It looks quite nice on first sight - the race details are big and bold Looks like the little boxes to tick for adding info to the basic card have gone and been replaced with a drop down 'Customise Card' box the calendar box has disappeared and been replaced by drop down menus 'Best Odds' appears to have gone and been replaced by William Hill Odds which is not a good thing ! example of the new layout............ http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/cards/card.sd?race_id=570757&r_date=2013-01-31#raceTabs=sc_

  15. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 30th January 1.40 Lud - Little dutch girl - win at 6/4 bog PP Henderson runner in a race that usually wins when he sends one here Made a pleasing debut 3rd at Doncaster and gets the fillies allowance today which might be a bonus on soft ground. She won a maiden and handicap on soft ground on the flat so should handle it OK

  16. Re: BBOTD Monday 28th January 4.40 Wolv - Lucky Mountain - win at 10/1 bog bet365 Currently the outsider of the field but has the best 2 recent speed figs and is improving slowly race by race Appears to be a bit one paced so might be suited to the slower surface here than at Lingfield, the only track he's run at to date

  17. Re: BBOTD Saturday 26th of January 2013 Chelt 2.25 - Wayward prince - win at 12/1 bog bet365 Was a good novice a couple of years ago, beaten only a length in the RSA, after being a grade one winning novice hurdler, so he should have the class to be competitive in this company As with many novices he struggled in his first season against experienced chasers but the signs are good that he's got the hang of it now having won a Listed chase at Aintree in December Out and out stayer.............should be running on at the finish when the likes of Grand crus and Hunt Ball have cried 'enough'! Good to see Imperial Commander but at 12 years old and after 2 years of injuries would you really wanting to be backing him with cash ?

  18. Re: BBOTD Thursday 24th January Ling 3.15 - King george river - win at 9/4 bog wm hill Looks well in on his handicap debut and it might just be that the assessor has let him in lightly off 82 Only had 3 runs. First time out he won a maiden when with Aiden O'Brien. The second, beaten 2 lengths, won a handicap off 82, a Listed race, and is now rated 108. The third, beaten 7 lengths, has won a handicap off 84..........a mark of 82 for the winner of that maiden looks generous ! Had a bit of a break after finishiung last when fave for a Listed race on heavy ground for his 2nd start and came back with a new yard just before Xmas to finish 3rd in a novice event over this CD Hopefully will come on a bit for the run and take advantage of what looks like a lenient mark

  19. Re: BBOTD Saturday 19th January Kemp 1.45 - Chambles - win at 12/1 bof bet365 Missed the break last time out over this CD then ran well from an impossible position to make ground towards the finish. has been dropped another couple of pounds and is now below her last winning mark Todays fave finished about 4 lengths ahead of her in that last race but could have a chance of turning that around with a clean break Will probably know my fate early................if she gives them 6 lengths at the start I'm done for..........:cry

  20. Re: BBOTD Thursday 17th January Thurles 2.10 - Joncol - win at 11/1 bog betvictor Going for a bit of an upset in the big race of the day Joncol is a bit of an old timer now but he has his ideal conditions for the first time for a while as he's been running over hurdles or over trips that are too far for him 20 furlongs on soft/heavy ground looks ideal and he goes well here at Thurles He's had 3 outings this season which should have got him fit - he's always tended to need a run after a break and as he's got older he seems to need more than one Ran over hurdles last time and finished 4 lengths behind Rule The World who's very highly regarded Should be spot on today and hopefully will give the couple of exciting promiosing types in the field a run for there money
