  1. Re: Nap of the Day - Sunday 3rd Aug 2014 4.15 Chester - Izzthatright - win at 3/1 bog betvictor 6 runner nursery With a couple of these looking a bit too slow for sprint trips and a couple more looking best at 5F at this early stage in their career it might pay to stick with a horse provan over the trip.......and he's the only one about which we know that his handicap mark is OK, having won a nursery off 4lbs lower last time out the current fave is Don Siefriedo but he's up 7lbs for finishing 2nd in a nursery two runs ago and has had a few chances. He's also widest drawn and one of the ones who I'm not sure will be suited by going up in trip.......so I'm happy to take him on !

  2. Re: Nap of the Day - Saturday 2nd Aug 2014 1.55 Thirsk - Fast magic - ew at 18/1 bog betvictor 2yo maiden This horse has shown early speed before fading in a couple of 6F maidens.......now drops back to 5F His last run was quite good in a Haydock maiden which is usually won by pretty smart types and is generally a decent race........he finished 5th after leading at the 5 furlong pole. Hopefully he can get a lead here and last home at the shorter trip The stable have had 3 winners in the last couple of days and the trainer likes to send out horses with a chance at his local Yorkshire tracks

3.40 bangor - red merlin - win at 6/4 bog wm hill formerly a classy hurdler who had a couple of years off after winning te 'Swinton' at Haydock Came back a few weeks ago to run 2nd in a decent race and generally has run in better races than all his rivals Could come on for that run after lengthy absence and had 5 weeks to recover AP McCoy up

  5. Re: Out of interest..... My biggest would be around 500 quid on a yankee or L15 in 1993 I can't even remember the stake now (probably 20p EW or something like that) but I had 3 winners, two of them were 28/1 and 6/1 (Ezzoud in the International and one of henry Cecil's called Edbaysan)...........just looked through the York results for that day but can't remember my other winner I did however see the one that lost.......Chickawicka in the last race, the nursery. It was 20/1.......:loon
