thing is look at the discrepancy 2/1 v 12/1 it was in the form and ignored why? because one is O'Briens the other isn't. Thats the good thing about speed figures they dont listen to Hype, bookies, tipsters trainers or Jockeys.  the winner straight answers figure for this race is 130 thats pretty much as high as i have recorded this year for a 2 yr old. and should go in all notebooks. I will stick my neck out and say thats the best irish 2yold this season up to press.

Over the years I've had £12k in free bets from which I've managed to get back £11k in cash. I'm happy with this because often you need to bet on events which otherwise you wouldn't do to satisfy the condition of the free bet.

I am in full agreement it comes out very well on my figures I also agree on your price assessment both earlier and now. I just about managed to get 66/1 you and the cleaner were probably the only ones getting on at 80/1 ?

The logic I use is :-
If you had 10 free bets and bet them all at 1/1 then you would expect 5 winners and a return of 5 points.
If you had 10 free bets and bet them all at 9/1 then you would expect 1 winner and a return of 9 points.

For free bets it makes sense to back longer odds (6/1+) rather than shorter odds.

Last night - Having done the speed figures for the 2Yold Listed race at Fairyhouse i was quite surprised that Glengarra who beat Ultramarine giving it weight (3lbs) was 12/1 whereas Ultramarine was 2/1 Fav. To me it seems someone initially priced this race up after a few pints. Be careful out there people.

Summary- do not write off Rishes Baar ran as green as grass got unbalance and Watson nearly fell off but finished fifth btn 3 3/4L
Gutted about Hierarchy getting nabbed on the post but i will take a 120/1 Fc all day long although at my prices ( should have been over 200/1) was very disappointed, then even more so when the rule 4 kicked in.

We can be our own worst enemies can we not? Seems obvious to me that Tim Easterby has had us all over with Staxon, next race Holly Doyle didn't worry about the draw much. and Looking at Mr Luptons last few runs it wont surprise me if Fahey doesn't have us all over in the gold cup

yes as a rule so at the end of the year i have a good idea of the best of them i occasionally if i dont have enough data on a particular horse in a group race at 3yo i calculate that 1 race again to confirm what i already know one example of this was the St leger many years ago 1992 when i think it was called user friendly had not run as a 2yrold, so now you can see the dangers of not doing it because that horse won.
