The countdown to the resumption of racing in this country begins . In 15 days we will be glued to the screens watching them going down for the first at Newcastle , for the first few weeks its going to be unpredictable but no more than we have had to endure from far and wide . What have we learned,  if your shouting at the telly at Ryan Moore not going through the gap , just stop and remember what you have witnessed at Gulfstream or Tampa , when you see Luke Morris coming three wide around the final bend at Wolverhampton dont scream at him for not waiting and cutting to the inside,  just remember that you have witnessed jockeys riding five or six horses wide but ten off the rail . All this and some rather , let's say strange and unusual riding styles puts our racing in a class of it's own.  We have also learned to appreciate being able to take a price and have bog on our side , you only have to look at the naps table,  sp betting just dosnt work . While on the naps table I think a special thank you should go to BH , admin and everyone concerned for the tremendous work done this last few months , settling bets from places I cant even pronounce cant have been easy  and the extra prize money , kudos to you . Well done and thank you . 
Many will have saved a few quid not betting, take care when we start again dont go mad , its going to take time to establish itself again. 
In conclusion,  we will never forget what we have seen and maybe appreciate British and Irish racing and jockeys just that little bit more

If one thing Hong Kong & US Racing has taught me with lockdown is don't jump in too quickly look & learn as with UK Racing it'll be the familiar trainers , jockeys & horses but with season 10 weeks later than normal , it's going to be different , take time again & follow those in form yards .

I know at Epsom a big fence is being put around the perimeter as its mostly public land. I reckon Newmarket will be well cordoned off.
Cant wait now although it wont be much fun punting in the first couple of weeks i'm guessing!

Most bookies only do BOG on UK and Ireland, another reason why it's so difficult to make money on international racing.

I use Equibase for the US Racing , I'm a stat man & follow smaller in form trainers & try & stick to low draws in the sprint races.
Hong Kong Jockey Club site is fantastic there's loads of information , I tend to do better at Happy Valley than Sha Tin where a low draw is essential in the sprint races , as for Aussie racing , not my cup of tea , I like to watch what I'm betting on & it starts at silly o'clock.
When UK & Irish racing re start i'll stick to what I do every year for instance the 6 weeks in April / May end of 1 code & start of another take it easy on the wallet , similar to October / November.

With HK being a punters graveyard and not being able to get suitable form information for the American races I'm on the verge of giving up for the moment and taking a break until we get some proper racing back ...... 
Maybe I should start looking to the Aussie stuff to keep me going. The main thiing that puts me off is that I can't watch it live but I suppose I could record it and watch it back in the morning. I might check out the Racing Post coverage and see if they have proper form and how many meetings they cover.
