I'm not so sure I agree with you about readily available information.

I suppose what I am saying is that if is obvious that Rossa Ryan has done well on favourites in the past then the chances are that his odds when on the favourites in the future are likely to reduce.

Also win rates are nor particularly useful.

Quite amusing that no one on the forum seems to be able to report on any profitable angles using the Racing Post, both digital newspaper and online version.  Does this mean that punters up and down the country are wasting their £4.20 (was £3.90 last week) a day for the printed version or £34.50 monthly subscription for the online version?

I stopped using the RP years ago. I download the raw data elsewhere and analyse it myself.

I suspect it will be difficult to find a profitable angle using information that is readily available to everybody.

  3. The profitability of quick returners has been a pehenomenon that has stood the test of time over many years, going back to the early 80s.

However it has taken a big dip this year. The AE for horses running within 8 days over the last 6 years has been 1.03 but this year it has dropped dramatically to 0.90.

Hopefully this is a one off blip but we will see.

that deduction is taken out of the overall pools the sp usually pretty much Reflects the pmu, the difference is that discrepancies occur between our bookies early prices for UK horses and the french view through the pmu. So there is value to be had. if you look at the arc betting on 365 for example and what they return you will see what i mean, at the moment it looks like there are 4 favs and that was my beef last night, it will be interesting to see what the returns end up being both sp and pmu. the general rule used to be if its a french horse back at uk prices and vice versa same with the american pmu but with international pools its a bit more tricky these days. what i do if i cant make my mind up is split my stakes between the two because the horses i back tend to be bigger prices. i have had had some huge returns from pmu over the years.

All looks a bit complicated to me. No UK flat racing so I'll have a day off, I usually lose money on Sundays anyway.
