AUSTRALIA A-League 2010/2011 Season

Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Central Coast -1.5 @ 2.53 pinnacle Central Coast have been able to demoolish the lesser sides at home of late, beating Sydney 4-0 and Perth 5-0, but in between these games, lost to two of the top sides in Brisbane and the Gold Coast at home. Prior to these 4 games, they beat North Queensland 3-2, and believe they will have too much for the visitors once again, as they have struggled for form, as well as their is lot of uncertainty playing on the minds of their players as to what is going to happen next year. NQ have lost 3 of their last 4 games, each by a 2-0 score to Brisbane (at home), Adelaide (away) and Newcastle (at home). There is not enough to suggest that they will be able to stay with CC here, who should be fresh after their game got cancelled on the weekend due to the rain while NQ were soundly beaten by Brisbane.

Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Perth v Adelaide - Over 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 Bet365 Adelaide have featured in high scoring games on the road, with 7 of their 11 away games this season having 3 or more goals, they'll fancy scoring a few times against bottom of the table Perth, 50% of the hosts matches at home have gone over this line. H2H history doesn't look good for overs but recent results suggest that this line could easily be covered.

Central Coast win 1-0 in a low class game, NQ were unlucky not to get something out of this game and can't see CC winning many games against the top teams on that performance.

Event Sydney FC - Melbourne Heart
Selection Sydney FC
Strength 10/10
Date 23/12/2010
Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 2.07
Reasoning Sydney was the champion on the last season but now they are second bottom placed, just one point up the last placed Perth Glory. It is a embarrassing season for a champion team. But the champion structure is still there and they have a huge support from their fans, one of the strongest of the A-League. With only 10 games to end the season, maybe is too late to save the season, but they must to try at least. Nicky Carle will return on Sydney in this game and this is a undeniable boost for the hosts. After the last defeat at North Queensland by 1-0, they must to react and get a result that makes them be alive again on the league, as at the moment they are second bottom placed, just one point over the last placed Perth Glory. It is being a disappointing season and they will make all they can to win this game and turn around their season. With only ten games left, and seven points far from the Play-off zone, Sydney can't continue delaying their recovering. Sydney knows what they need to reach the finals. The good players are still there and the potential is yet to explode. Sydney can be again a very dangerous side. Melbourne Heart is not on a better moment. On the last game they could win the game on the last minutes putting a end on a row of seven winless games. They are also on a tough moment.

Central Coast win 1-0 in a low class game' date=' NQ were unlucky not to get something out of this game and can't see CC winning many games against the top teams on that performance.[/quote'] Played in second gear all game. Probably more focused about the weekend game with Adelaide. They nearly gave up their lead, but they bombed a few chances of their own, where they could, and probably should of, scored at least one goal from them. Also liking Adelaide in that game. CC were beaten quite easily by Brisbane and GC at home - they tend to struggle against the more technical sides

Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Central Coast - Adelaide over 2.5 @ 1.94 pinnacle Central Coast are 3rd, 4 points behind 2nd placed Adelaide, but they do have 2 games in hand, so like them to go on the offensive to get the 3 points, as a loss for them means that Adelaide will still stay a point in front of them, even if they win their 2 catch-up games. They created some good chances against North Queensland during the game, but only managed a 1-0 win as they played within themselves, probably with this game in mind. Apart from the NQ game, they had gone over in their last 4 home games, with at least 4 goals scored in each of these games, but it is notable that they did lose to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, two of the better sides in the competition, while they beat the lower sides. Adelaide are coming off a 4-2 loss at Perth midweek, and while scoring is not a problem for them, their defence has been ordinary. They have scored in each of their last 8 games, scoring at least twice in 5 of these games, but with only 3 clean sheets in these 8 games, not good for a second placed side. On the road, they have struggled with 5 losses in their last 6 away games, scoring in 5 of them, but allowing at least 2 goals in each of these 5 losses. Can see this being an open game with both teams having plenty to play for, so the over looks good here. Brisbane - Gold Coast over 2.5 @ 2.13 pinnacle Brisbane sit on top of the ladder, and with a couple of more wins should be able to finish first and especially will like to do so over one of their challengers. The Gold Coast are 14 points off them in 4th spot, but with 3 games in hand, and a win here and wins in these other games, and just 2 points will be the difference, so it is a must win game for them. Brisbane have been the class side of this competition all year, and they will be hard to beat here. In their last 2 games, they have managed to keep cleans sheets, but these were over the lowly North Queensland and Sydney, but GC will be a much more difficult opponent here. They have scored in each of their last 17 games, and though they are unbeaten in these 17 games, they do have only 5 clean sheets in these games, which is a concern for them. Still, they have gone over in 9 of them, including 4 of their last 7 home games. The Gold Coast have scored in 8 of their last 9 games, and in their last game they were poor, with the loss of several key players prior to the game saw them lose 2-0 at Newcastle. They have allowed goals in 6 of these games, with 6 of these 9 games going over. On the road, they have scored in 4 of their last 5 away games, with 3 of these game going over but they have allowed 2 goals in each of their last 3 away games, so this is a concern with the threat that Brisbane shows. With two teams who like to attack, and with both teams knowing a win here can have a major impact on their goals for the year, like this be an open game with goals in it.

Good reasoning mate - not much further to add to this... I'll take both of the same bets with Sportsbet Central Coast - Adelaide over 2.5 @ 1.83 Brisbane - Gold Coast over 2.5 @ 2.10

Reasoning The two teams are very close in the table. But at home, Melbourne V. is the favorite to win this game. Last week, Newcastle Jets was smashed by 4-0 at Wellington by Phoenix, but they were depleted on that game. But the question here is how they will react after a so demoralizing defeat. Melbourne V. is on a run of five undefeated games and they are living a very good moment. I believe they can win this game.

Event North Queensland - Wellington
Selection North Queensland
Strength 10/10
Date 27/12/2010
Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 2.45
Reasoning North Queensland is one of the weakest teams of A-League but they are still fighting against this destiny. On today's game they will give free entries to their fans. For sure they will have a stronger support and that, among the fact that the climateric conditions on North Queensland at this time of the year use to be very bad, will be two more opponents to make harder the vistors game. They can have here a moralizing win.

Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets - Victory @ 1.95 Sportsbet I'll be backing Melbourne today, their recent form has been excellent and their form at home this season has been reasonable. They'll certainly miss the attacking threat of Archie Thompson, but Kruse is more then capable of doing the job - whilst the return of Allsop to Melbourne will be a massive morale booster for the home side, he is very liked around the place and will provide yet another reason for the club to be confident.

Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Melbourne Victory - Newcastle over 2.5 @ 2.05 centrebet Melbourne have had 9 days to prepare for this game, so with the extra rest they should be ready to play well here. They are coming off a very good 2-0 home win over Perth where they showed their quality and they do tend to play well at home, where they have scored at least 2 goals in 7 of their last 9 games. The defence is a bit of a worry since they have conceded in 4 of their last 5 games, with a total of 7 goals conceded in these 4 home games. Looking overall, they have scored and conceded in 8 of their last 11 games, with 9 of these games going over, so like them to score freely once again. Newcastle too have had 9 days rest since their last game, and forget about their 4-0 loss in Wellington, as they just had a bad day. Prior to that they had won their 3 previous games by a 2-0 scoreline, including road wins at North Queensland and the Melbourne Heart, so they too have been scoring. Though their defence has been solid, still hard to see them stop this attacking Victory side that has a number of players coming into form at the right time, and who have the ability to create and / or score the goals. These two teams have each scored in 4 of their last 5 meetings, so nothing to suggest that they will not do so again. Both sides need a win to stay in the top 6 for the semi finals, as the Victory is 6th and Newcastle is 7th, so like this to have a few goals in it. North Queensland - Wellington under 2.5 @ 1.85 centrebet North Queensland lie 2nd last on the table, mainly due to their inability to score regularly as their defence is not bad. They have scored just once in their last 5 games, while they have allowed 8 goals in these 5 games, as no team has beaten them by more than a two goal margin all season, so they tend to play their games pretty close. They have gone under in 7 of their last 8 games, while they have also gone under in their last 4 home games, with the steamy and humid conditions playing their part to sap the energy of the players. Wellington are coming off a very good 4-0 home win over Newcaste, but they are leaving the relatively much cooler climate in NZ to the hot and steamy conditions in NQ. Their away form has been poor, with 8 losses in their 10 away games, and just 5 goals scored, so they may find it tough to score here, given this poor away form and the heat they will play in. These two teams have played just once in NQ which was last year, where the home team gained a point with a late equaliser to finish 1-1. Like this to be a low scoring game here.

I tend to agree with your thoughts on the NQ/Wellington match, and I'll follow with the same bet. With Wellington's poor away record, the absence of Paul Ifill (who I feel is their best forward, if not their best player overall), and NQ's tendancy for low scoring games at home, I think this will be very tight affair. Good luck! :hope

Re: Australia A-League 2010/2011 Season Adelaide - Sydney under 2.5 @ 1.80 centrebet Adelaide are struggling for form as they have lost their last 3 games, and it just looks like they can not get their game going. They have some talented players who can create and score goals, but even they have not been as prevalent as expected. Still their home has been very good as they have scored 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 games, and in these 5 games, they had allowed just 1 goal with 4 clean sheets. In their last home game against the Melbourne Heart they were cruising with a 1-0 lead but because they did not put some of their other chances away, they get mugged by two late goals to lose the game. Though they have conceded 8 goals in their last 3 games, expect the defence to be much tighter agaisnt a poor Sydney attack. Sydney have lost these 4 games, and find themselves at the bottom of the ladder and as such, they have not scored in their last 4 games. They have lost their last 3 games by a 1-0 scoreline, so they have been keeping games close, but have lacked the quality up front to get a win. Also they have scored just once on the road in their last 4 away games, so they too, are down on form. Like the look of this being a low scoring game.

Adelaide - Sydney under 2.5 @ 1.80 centrebet
Given the winter break in most of the European leagues, i've decided to have a little flutter on the A - League. Followed your picks for Mondays games and they paid off so thanks for that and I will also be following this bet. Additionally I've taken Adelaide to win (1.7 on Bet365, although price has now droped to 1.67). I might be taking a small risk given I don't know much about this league but looking overall performances this season by these two teams, for me 1.7 seems a very good price for the Adelaide win. Adelaide home record is 7 wins out of 9, whilst bottom of the league Sydney have played 9 away from home and lost 7 of them. :hope

Hi Crow, do you fancy Adelaide? I hate betting on totals for AU: Galekovic and Dodd are out also Mullen and Cornw....(latter 2 defenders) Also adding AU is playing at Adelaide Oval and not Hindmarsh fortress
