Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov

3.25 Haydock Shining Gale was pulled out of the Paddypower Gold Cup at Cheltenham last weekend but this looks an easier assignment and he looks to have something in hand of the handicapper. Trainer Charlie Mann, in the build up to that race, was quoted as saying he wanted soft ground, so the fact conditions will be slow tomorrow for this engagement should not be a problem. He ran encouragingly on his reappearance at Ascot in a listed chase and is proven over this trip of three miles and may have more to offer off this mark. 1 pt win.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov LUNAR LIMELIGHT 9.20 Wolverhampton. 0.5 points each way. Up a little in trip and that can bring that little bit of improvement to go close this evening. The surface isn't a concern and gets in off a pound lower mark of 48. Every chance of winning, at a decent price.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov Wow what a days racing today, some cracking jumps racing and unfortunately I won't be able to get stuck into it because its an away game, typical! Need to go to bed soon so trying to get some studying in but when I rush it is when its poor usually so this may be my only bet today. Sorry for the ramble :lol 15:05 Lingfield I like the look of Ceremonial Jade in this race. This horse loves the All Weather with 7 wins and 7 places from 18 runs on the surface. This includes 1 course and distance win and 2 wins over 7 furlongs at the course. She won a listed race at Wolverhampton over 7 furlongs in March this year off a mark of 105 and runs off this mark today so she should be dangerous. She has had a 204 day lay off but has proved she goes well fresh by coming back on winning terms from a lay off in the past, although they were shorter breaks than this one. Was 6th in this race last year off a mark of 107. Top jockey in Fallon on board today and he could be the man to ride her to another course win. The horse likes to be held up and he is a great judge of pace so should give her a near perfect ride and give her a great chance of winning from the rear (hopefully). Jaconet will add a good bit of pace to the race with her front running style which should suit my selection but Jaconet could prove hard to pull back at her first try at this level. She has a 100% record on the All Weather over 6 furlongs with 3 runs and 3 wins, her only defeat on the AW was in a 7 furlong race. Is 11lbs higher than her last win though. 1 pt win Ceremonial Jade

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov Haydock 1.45pm Peddlers Cross 1pt lay Not much to go on in this race but 3 horses stand with good form imv v the lay who only having one run to date might be good but i view this race will be a test for the lay given the ground and a few horses running their 1st race so who knows. With all the factors adding up against the lay plus the fact that at this mo the market odds are imv value at around 3.70 to 3.90 it all points to value, laying. Goodluck Whatever You Bet Today

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov Pause and Clause 2.20 Haydock (EACH WAY) XXX SUPER NAP XXX Initially fancied Kayf Aramis and even though I think it might place I feel it is too high in the weights to win. Pause and Clause is a quite consistent type and the 0 in the formline was partly to the horse getting hampered when making its run at Aintree in a Grade 1 race but also might have been aiming too high. Won a class 2 novice hurdle over 21f really easily off a rating of 130. Then ran off 137 in a Grade 3 at Cheltenham and was only beaten 2 lengths. I think it has every chance at listed level off a rating of 142, dropped 1lb since its last run but lightly raced and from the 7 races it has contested it has won 2 and placed in 4. Has won on soft and good to soft and placed on heavy. Extra few furlongs will be the test but I am giving it a chance at around 16-1/20-1. Jockey does well on the horse.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov 6.00 Kempton On what looks a tough night at kempton this doesn’t look much easier but there is one over priced in my opinion. Earlsmedic is likely to go well having won a classier race than this during the week and penalty is taken away by apprentice but he isn’t an easy ride and maybe a tough ask for an inexperienced jockey, also on paper this should be easier but this actually looks tougher. Perfect act also won last time out and up 4lb for that effort, but he is another that isn’t the easiest to win on coming well off the pace. Where as gwilym is a different story likes to sit up with the pace tracking the leaders, winning a handicap on turf at lingfield, before going wrong at newmarket and being pulled up, was then given a bit of a cocky ride by Hayley over 6f at wolverhampton to win upped 4lb for that and looked a little bit flat last time out, but I wouldn’t discount him bouncing back here tonight from a middle draw. 0.5pt e/w gwilym 10/1 lads

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov Ascot 1:30. Ravello Bay. 1 point LAY A very consistent hurdler who was placed in all four of her races last season, including one win. In the last of those races she was overtaken in the very last stride in a mare's handicap. The handicapper has bumped her up another 6lbs for that near miss, and that could prove critical today. This seems a very competitive handicap, and a number of her rivals have had the benefit of races this season and may be a little fitter. With these factors in mind, I feel the current odds of around 2.88 do not give much value to backers but represent good value to a layer.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov 1205 Huntingdon: Asturienne 87 Asturienne, 84 My Rebecca, 83 Naughty Naughty The Alan King runner Asturienne was quite impressive at Towcester, staying on well up the hill that day, this is a completely different track which is probably why a couple behind him that day take him on again. Naughty Naughty was second and Penny Queen 6th. My Rebecca ran well in the spring and comes back after a break. Henderson runs a debutant and is the market rival and could be a danger.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov 2.45 Huntingdon - Knight Legend e/w I think he will run a big race with 3lbs down in the weights and further 7lbs from Giles Hawkins claim. 2nd run for Hobbs and top trainer could have improved him. Certainly has e/w claims in today's field of exposed types.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov KAUTO STAR - Haydock - 2.55 - WIN The champion returns to action! A race later than last year, where he took in the JN Wine Chase in Ireland, which this year saw Notre Pere unseat his rider when travelling well. Kauto Star is best when fresh according to Paul Nicholls, and he cannot get much fresher than this. last seen winning the Gold Cup, Kauto Star should have everything pointing in his favour here tomorrow. He has won this race twice before, and was looking like challenging when unseating Sam Thomas at the final fence last year. His record on Soft ground is excellent - 5 wins from 6 (the one loss was at Exeter, when he fell, was remounted by Ruby and ran on well to finish 2nd, despite having a broken bone in his leg). He likes it best around flat tracks (as his wins here and at Kempton seem to suggest), and he has Ruby back on board for this one tomorrow. He really should be odds on IMO, but there has been money for Notre Pere. However, the conditions may not have turned poor enough for Notre Pere, as Haydock has missed a lot of the rain that the rest of us have been dealing with. I expect Kauto Star to be bang in form, and a huge run can be expected.

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov Fin, you picked my selection again!! :cry I'll go elsewhere in the interest of variety :ok 2.25 Haydock: McMurrough 0.5pts e/w Has made a decent start back after a summer breaks albeit being beaten favourite into 2nd at Carlisle and then Kelso before winning LTO at the same track when stepped up in trip to 2m7f. The extra distance seemed to bring about improvement that day and could well improve again for this extra distance again. Place claims at least in an open contest. :ok

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov Saturday 3.10 Ascot Voy Pur Ustedes Every time i look at this race, it looks a match between VPU & Monets Garden. The king horse is one of my old favourites & its form just stands out against these rivals. Won here on unsuitable heavy ground in feb this year & went down to Cheltenham specialist Imperial Commander in the Ryanair. This trip is ideal for the horse that slammed Master Minded over 2m4f the year reversing the form of the champion chase 3 weeks prior. Its got grade 1 winning form throughout its career & even finished 3rd in last years King George at Kempton. Schindlers Hunt has yet to win in England & may prefer it softer.Planet of sound is still learning & this is another big test, i think the trip may just beat it. Nap material for me tomorrow this one

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov 2.45 Knight Legend (win) This is a race full of older, exposed horses, and I am convinced Knight Legend can get one over these. Previously a good chaser in Ireland, he competed in some of the best races, including a 3rd behind the one and only Kauto Star. He has since been snapped up to race in the UK for Phillip Hobbs, and made his debut just over 3 weeks ago in a decent listed chase. He made numerous errors that day, no doubt due to the twat on board, and still did well to finish 5th. This is an easier race, he is well treated by the handicapper, and has a very promising claimer in Giles Hawkins on board today. All seems set for a good run. Super Nap :ok

Re: Best bet of the day - Sat 21st Nov 7.00 Kempton Stanley Goodspeed is capable of putting together a good performance of this mark. Has not won in three years but is well drawn here and with the useful Hayley Turner on board i feel he can go close. 1pt WIN:hope
