Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Nice work Kev. Not finalised my thoughts yet but I'm thinking of putting on my antipodean cap for most of my bets. I think NZ offer nice value at double figure odds. McCullum was hitting form in the IPL and is a dynamite batman. Oram has massive hitting talent, as do Styris and Ryder. All 3 offer bowling options which should ensure lots of bowling options and a lengthy batting line up. Vettori is absolute class and although their other key bowlers aren't the best you can't expect it all from a team at these kind of odds. Of course, I didn't include Ross Taylor in the above paragraph because he deserves one of his own. He was absolute dynamite for Bangalore and if he played every game I reckon he'd have come awfully close to the Orange Cap. His good form continue as he absolutely clobbered Ireland in a warm-up game. I don't feel he has the best technique ever, but he has an amazing eye and times his hits superbly. I think I saw 34s for him to be the top runscorer, and if I can find a 'to hit most sixes' market I will look to get on him for that too. Not given too much thought to the top wicket-taker yet, but Malinga stands out so far. Albie Morkel looks to be decent value too. More on this later.

Not sure if you have a boylesports account, Crouchie but he's 16/1 with them for most 6's.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Yes I do. One thing I forgot to mention about these warm up matches are 13 players can play. Obviously only 11 can bat and 11 bowl but they don't have to stick to the same 11 personnel. For example, tomorrow, Chris Martin were he to be in the NZ squad wouldn't have had to be named as one of the 11 to bat but he could bowl. Ditto say a Ross Taylor who can't bowl, can be named as a batsman but not take the field as a bowler. I'd imagine in these matches we'll see an array of options used, particularly from the likes of India who nearly all bowl.

3 for me tomorrow. Corals haven't priced up top bats which is a pity but we'll get stuck into them later in the event ;). 4pts Ireland to beat Netherlands 17/20 Sportingbet I have a bit of a soft spot having made so much money out of them in world cup in the West Indies 2 years ago. I've followed them whenever they've played county cricket too so I know enough about their cricketers to believe they are stronger than Holland here. Ireland are full of professional county cricketers and while Holland have a few with county experience, they don't have as many. Ireland are packed with solid domestic twenty20 performers. Will Porterfield and Niall O'Brien have both opened successfully for both Gloucestershire and Northants respectively while Gary Wilson has been a one day regular for Surrey this season and Boyd Rankin tends to be a regular for Warwickshire. Kevin O'Brien has just signed for Nottinghamshire too. Holland offer Ryan ten Doeschate and Alex Kervezee who are with county sides at the minute while Bas Zuiderant and Dirk Nannes have been in the past. Ireland have plenty of experience at this level to fall back on and their squad, led by coach Phil Simmons is experienced on the big occasions. Trent Johnston is a very clever player in this format of the game too. Holland will rely heavily on ten Doeschate and Nannes in the event as a whole and given that they may choose to explore other options in this game I believe Ireland, who've not long come off the back of a Friends Provident Trophy campaign will win this warm up match. 1pt N.O'Brien Top Ireland Batsman 4/1 Boylesports Niall O'Brien has made a decent start with the bat in Northants' twenty20 campaign and I expect him to be one of the better batsmen in this Ireland side here. Indications are he'll bat at number 3 but he could easily open. He showed he can compete at this level in the World Cup 2 years ago when he played a number of solid innings. He's a powerful hitter who can hit the ball on the off side and the leg side and while top bat betting is dangerous in these games due to batsmen potentially retiring out I think Ireland will want to get a few runs into their main man before the event itself begins so I'll take the Northants keeper-batsman to top score here. 3pts Pakistan Most 6's vs South Africa 6/5 Skybet Taking on South Africa in this market has proved lucrative for me in the past and I believe there's mileage in it here too. South Africa don't have natural 6 hitters with the exception of Albie Morkel and perhaps AB de Villiers. Gibbs, Smith, Kallis and Duminy can all hit 6's but their strength is their strokeplay on the deck. Pakistan however have a number of big hitting batsmen. Shahid Afridi only needs to bat for 7-8 overs and this will be a winner such is his destructiveness but there's also Misbah-ul-Haq, star of the last tournament, Shoaib Malik and Yasir Arafat who hit the ball a long way. For me though, the reason why I like this bet is Pakistan's seam attack is quite tight. We've seen how hard to hit Arafat is during his time with Sussex already this season while Umar Gul and Sohail Tanvir are also hard to hit. This is the 2nd game on at Trent Bridge tomorrow so I don't see Afridi being easy to hit either. As I said earlier, Pakistan are naturally bigger hitting, they'll want to entertain more with a lot of Pakistani's likely to be in the crowd so I'll take them to hit the most 6's in this one.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Backed Bangladesh today at 5/1. Bit of value there for me, best them before and Bangles have a decent 20/20 side, in this form of the game 5/1 on an international side is worth taking.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Unlucky there mate. I think you chose the wrong day to take them. +0.40pts for me on the day with Ireland's super over win.

2 for me tomorrow. 1pt Bangladesh to beat Sri Lanka 9/2 Bet365 Bangladesh lost to Australia yesterday but they put up a decent effort, particularly with the bat and there's the off chance they could catch Sri Lanka cold here. Bangladesh have some decent players, in particular Shakib al Hasan who could become the 1st Bangladesh cricketing star in this competition. Sri Lanka are a good side but it's not the strongest side they've brought over here and if the Bengali Tigers can restrict the damage from Malinga 1st up they can push on and get a total which their spin orientated attack can defend. 9/2 is a big price, especially if Sri Lanka decide to try a few combinations out and not go full pelt for the win and I'll have a nibble. 2pts R.Bopara Top England Batsman 7/2 Stan James Ravi Bopara is in great touch with the bat at the minute. He made a couple of solid 40's in the ODI series with the West Indies which came fairly soon after his back to back centuries in the test series against the same opponents. Then in the twenty20 with Essex last week he made 53 and 45 in two very solid knocks. He's a confident guy anyway but he should be ultra confident at the minute and his successful stint in the IPL should have primed him perfectly for this event. Kevin Pietersen is still carrying an injury which helps Bopara's chances and from opening the innings he'll have 1st crack and I think he'll go close to top scoring at a fair price.

Yeah had they put that up batting first they miight have gone close, Shakib al hasan is going to be a superstar, apart from Kallis I'm not sure there is a better all rounder in cricket at the moment. I am certain if you back them every game this summer you will make a profit.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Looking at the road Pakistan and NZ get to the semi-finals, I think they are very good value priced at around 9.00...Both teams should get to the semi finals on their side of the draw, and from there, both teams are more than capable of winning the entire thing. Even if you aren't that confident, you could always trade out on Betfair once their odds drop.

He's very good. As you know I've rated him for a long time and he's in my 10 to follow this year in the cricket thread too. Underrated in that side too when you think Mortaza (who is shit in one day cricket other than he can get the long handle out) and Ashraful get all the plaudits. Everytime I look at a scorecard of a Bangladesh game Shakib has been heavily involved. Totally solid cricketer. I'd love a county to go up to him and say yeah we'll take you for a season. Would do him the world of good and wouldn't do the county any harm at all.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 4 for me tomorrow. I'm going to Lords for that double header so that takes most of my betting interest. 3pts Scotland to beat Holland 10/11 Bet365 Both these sides have played one warm up match and I think Scotland played the better cricket. They took on England and at times were controlling them. Holland constantly struggled against Ireland and just when it looked like they had the game won, they threw it away. Seedings wise Holland should win this given that Scotland only made it here courtesy of Zimbabwe not being here. But the Scots have plenty of experience and have just come off the back of a Friends Provident Trophy campaign. In Kyle Coetzer and Navdeep Poonia they have a couple of current county cricketers while Gavin Hamilton has test match experience in the past. Ryan Watson can clout it a long way while Majid Haq looks a solid spin option with the ball. Holland aren't anything too special. They've got Dirk Nannes who needs to be respected and Ryan ten Doeschate needs to be kept under control but other than that, despite a couple of their players having county experience, they are not on Scotland's level. Scotland don't win too many matches which is a concern but I'm confident that having played well against England, they'll reproduce that effort and see off the Dutch here. 3pts Sri Lanka to beat South Africa 6/5 Ladbrokes I think these two sides are fairly evenly matched and the game could be decided by who decides to use which options. Sri Lanka had a decent run out against Bangladesh yesterday where their batsman got time at the crease and their bowlers were tested. That was without Malinga who you'd imagine would get a run out in this match. South Africa looked sharp against Pakistan in their opening warm up match but Pakistan weren't at the races at all. They could chop and change a bit though to bring squad players in and rotate their batting to get everyone time at the crease etc etc whereas Sri Lanka did a decent job of that against Bangladesh. As I say, I don't think there's much between these two sides so I'll take Sri Lanka to win at HQ. 3pts West Indies to beat England 11/10 Bet365 I firmly believe West Indies are the better side of these two regardless of conditions and what's gone before. England have picked two out of form twenty20 specialists and you'd think they'd want to try them out in this game just to get them some time in the middle. Graeme Swann may come into the side too but I don't see anything to worry the West Indies. I wasn't impressed with England's squad when it was announced and not a lot has changed. Ireland did England no favours by playing Gayle into form and if he bats he could go ballistic on short looking Lords boundaries. Sarwan, Fletcher, Chanderpaul and Pollard are all effective players in this form of the game and Bravo is quality no matter which format he's playing. Even their fringe players like Xavier Marshall can play well. With the ball, Taylor, Edwards and Bravo are quality performers and Gayle and Benn can be mighty hard to get away, especially for a team which doesn't play spin well. This is more the Windies kettle of fish and England struggled against Scotland and I think they'll get turned over in this match. 2pts C.Gayle Top West Indies Batsman 7/2 Ladbrokes As long as Chris Gayle opens, and that's the slight risk although I'd still expect him to open, as long as he does then this price is way too high. He's far too good to be 7/2 and has tucked into England's bowling enough over the last 3 months for the bookies to have seen that. Sure, Sarwan and Chanderpaul are quality but while Gayle is at the wicket they are all playing catch up and won't keep up with him while he's batting. He showed yesterday he's in good nick and with all the talk over the test series he might just want to prove a point and do some damage here. Whatever happens Chris Gayle shouldn't be 7/2 to top score in any lineup in limited overs cricket and I'll have a small bet on him accordingly.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 20/20 World Cup Outrights Winner Am convinced despite India being worthy favs, that anyone one of six teams could lift this trophy so im going to take a chance on the hosts. England have got a nice blend of youth and experience, there wont be many better teams in the field than Collingwoods side. My only concern is the tactics they use throug out the competition, Home advantage could be key and i think they are slightly over priced.Youngster's like Eoin Morgan, Adil Rashid and Luke Wright are good selections from the England management imo. England @ 12/1 EW (2places, 1/3 odds, ladbrokes) Top Runscorer Kevin Pietersen @ 22/1 EW (5places 1/4 odds ,stanjames) KP recent injury should have healed, they wouldn't risk him with the ashes around the corner, hopefully the break will help him regain his form, had a nice 50 against Scotland to blow the cobwebs away, If he has a good competition, so will England. Has the doubters to prove wrong after his woeful spell at Bangalore. Suresh Raina @ 25/1 EW This boy can bat, not afraid to improvise, capable of big shots, rotating the strike, fast bowling or spinners if he gets in he will take any attack out of the game, he and Rohit Sharma are very classy additions to India's glittering batting line-up, hopefully he can carry his form he had for Chennai in the IPL into this. Top Wicket Taker If India are to win the Tournament then the seamers will have to take wickets, Ishant Sharma will enjoy bowling in English conditions and with fitness doubts surrounding Zaheer Khan, im prepared to take both Sharma and Irfan Pathan as leading wkt takers. Pathan is a clever bowler, who will mix/change up his pace and length, swings the ball late aswell. Ishant Sharma @ 28/1 EW Irfan Pathan @ 33/1 EW done these bets with stanjames as they are the only ones paying 5 places, the rest are only doing 4places.:ok

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 My main problem with England is the 2nd group. Australia, India, South Africa and England and with my most patriotic hat on of all time I just can't see how we can escape that group. Another problem I have with England is any injuries because unlike some sides, like idiots we've not played the likes of Key and Napier who are out of form and tried to get them into form. If KP goes lame again or something happens with Swann again then the replacements are out of nick and not played any warm up cricket.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Some Tournament Outrights: Pakistan @ 9.40 (Betfair) See reasoning in my above posts, I can't be bothered re-typing it. :( Top Tournament Batsman: Gambhir @ 19.00 (PaddyPower) India have an easy initial group, and I can see the Indian top order getting a huge headstart on the rest. I think Gambhir is better value then Sehwag. He has a better average and should have no trouble with the Irish and Bangladesh bowling attack. :) Top Australian Batsman: Ponting @ 5.50 (Betfair) Ponting is a great player and very consistent. He will always bat being the #3, and is also a lot more experienced then most of the team. He has an average of above 30 and a SR of 130 in this form of the game, proving that you can still score quickly and consistently without hitting 6's every ball. Top Netherlands Batsman: Ten Doeschate @ 4.33 (PaddyPower) He is the standout player for the Dutch team, can't see anyone else in the Dutch side beating him. Going to have a small bet on him. :) Good Luck all! :hope

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Right, time to get stuck into the main event proper. Awful last day of warmup's for me. Probably why you shouldn't bet in them :lol. -13.60 coming into the tournament proper. 4 main outrights for me. 2pts South Africa to win ICC World Twenty20 7/2 Totesport South Africa look to have a really decent side and they look full of confidence coming into this event. They have taken on and beaten Australia in twenty20's over the last 6 months which should boost their confidence no end and the two warmup matches they've played, while I don't want to look at warmup matches too much, you can't fail to be impressed by. I was at their 2nd warm up on Wednesday and with the ball they looked very impressive. Dale Steyn will always take wickets. Johan Botha can squeeze as can the other spinner van der Merwe while Albie Morkel, Parnell and the other seamers like Kallis can chip in too. Morkel aside, they can all be economical and with a top 5 of Smith, Kallis, Gibbs, de Villiers and Duminy, with Morkel, van der Merwe and Boucher having the ability to tonk it I think SA have all bases covered. Their 2nd group worries me a bit but one big side will have to go from that. It could easily be Australia. I'm not going to be put off by it though and South Africa are my main outright pick. 1pt ew New Zealand to win ICC World Twenty20 8/1 Totesport (1/2 1,2) New Zealand also look in good shape coming into this event. They've got lots of twenty20 experience and maybe crucially, a few of their players have acclimatised to conditions in county cricket. They've got a powerful batting lineup and on it's day a very miserly bowling attack too. The way the draw has panned out, the 2nd super 8 group looks much weaker than the 1st if the qualifying spots go to seedings and there's no suprise qualifiers. New Zealand would have Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and you'd have to think the Kiwis, semi finalists last time, would come through that ok. Most of their lineup played in the IPL so they've got recent experience on the big stage and I think they are a decent ew bet for this tournament. 1pt ew B.McCullum Top Tournament Batsman 25/1 Stan James (1/4 1-5) I think Brendon McCullum is set up for a good tournament here. He has bags of twenty20 experience and the way NZ used him in the two matches against West Indies and then against Australia earlier this year suggests Andy Moles wants him to bat the innings through. He was much more reined in with his shots allowing his partners to play the shots. McCullum scored a couple of half centuries in those matches and if he gets into the innings deep in this tournament, we saw in the IPL as if we didn't already know, that he can smack it a long way. I think NZ will go well and I think their keeper/opener will go well too. 1pt ew D.Steyn Top Tournament Bowler 20/1 Ladbrokes (1/4 1-4) For me, Dale Steyn is the best fast bowler in the world at the minute and he's going to be tough to score off in this tournament. I saw him swing the new ball at Lords of Wednesday and if he starts doing that consistently the rest will have a job catching him. Steyn bowls at the start and end of the innings - a pre-requisite for top bowler betting and has amazing pace combined with a deadly slower ball. He has lots of experience at this level now and given that I believe SA will go close to winning the event, I think Steyn will be the bowler to get them to the title.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 A few more outrights. There were plenty of team outrights but I've gone with the best 5 I like. 1pt R.Bopara Top England Tournament Batsman 7/2 VC Everyone knows I'm a huge fan of Ravi Bopara and I think he'll go very well in this event. He's bang in form, in fact he couldn't be in better form and just in case he can play better, England have the Netherlands 1st up. If all goes well there Bopara should get a decent lead on a few of his colleagues who may not get a bat in that match. With Luke Wright opening at the other end, Bopara doesn't have to take any risks. He can just rotate the strike and accumulate the runs and put the bad balls away. Pietersen's the obvious danger here but I sense all is not well in his camp at the minute and at 7/2 I'll take the bang in form Essex man to lead England's run chart in this event. 1pt ew S.al Hasan Top Bangladesh Tournament Batsman 11/2 Coral (1/5 1,2,3) Anyone who knows me or who has spoken to me about cricket recently or indeed who reads my posts on here knows I'm a big big fan of this guy. I think he's the complete cricketer and if he was born in India he'd be a star of world cricket right now. The fact he's the no1 all rounder in ODI cricket at the moment speaks volumes. He's the complete player who goes well in all forms of the game. He has good strokeplay but he can pull out the big hits when required and batting at 4 could be perfect for him and he's another who can accumulate and get in while Ashraful's doing his thing before gradually going bigger with his shots the longer he's in. Technically, Shakib is the best Bangladesh batsman. He plays spin well and the quicks well too and I think he's a very big price to be Bangladesh's top scorer in the event. 1pt ew K.Akmal Top Pakistan Tournament Batsman 6/1 Ladbrokes (1/4 1-3) Kamran Akmal is typical of all wicket keepers in that he hits the ball very hard. He's really found form in Pakistan colours in recent years though. He now scores lots of runs in test cricket and indeed ODI cricket and his game is naturally suited to twenty20 games. He can play shots all over the wicket and he's technically sound when he needs to be. Batting at 3 is a good position, particularly with a hit and miss younger opening. Akmal should face plenty of overs in this competition and not long off the back of a match winning 50 in this format against Australia, not to mention an unbeaten century in the final ODI of that series, should go well. 6/1 is a great each way price on for me one of Pakistan's best batsmen. 1pt D.Vettori Top New Zealand Tournament Bowler 3/1 Ladbrokes Daniel Vettori is way to good to be 3/1 in this market. He was the best ODI bowler in the world not so long ago and all his tricks and wizardry will come out of the bag in this event. England has barely seen a drop of rain recently and with 2 matches per day these pitches will start slowing right up and turning square. Perfect wickets for Vettori who I think could take a hatful in this event. Rain is forecast for the early part of the event but that might make spin quicker off the pitch which again helps Vettori. Mills is a good performer at this level but you can't see any of the others making double figures over the tournament so I'll take the Kiwi skipper in this market. 1pt D.Steyn Top South Africa Tournament Bowler 7/2 Stan James See above. The best bowler in world cricket for me.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 And one match bet for tomorrow. 4pts England -4.5 wickets/55.5 runs 10/11 Sportingbet I'm no England fan but I was at Lords on Wednesday when a very confident England demolished the West Indies in emphatic and more interestingly ruthless style. I don't normally like taking handicaps so big when they need covering, I prefer to have the start but whichever way I look at this game I only see England covering this handicap. If Holland bat 1st I can't see them scoring enough to put England under pressure to lose 6 wickets and if England bat 1st they could post circa 190/200 and stick Holland out of the game. England have a mean bowling attack all of a sudden who bowl a lot of short balls which can be tricky to score off, particularly for semi pro players and they have lots of firepower with the bat that if Dirk Nannes doesn't do too much damage should see England home very comfortably in the tournament opener.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Now the proper stuff starts, I will get involved. Lots of outrights for me: India to win ICC World Twenty20 3/1 sky 10 pts India go into this as the holders and I believe they can defend their crown. I actually feel they are a better 20 20 side now, certainly a more experienced one and they just have so much depth it is frightening. Sehwag, Gambhir at the top haven’t always fired lately in 20 20s but when they do then watch out. A terrific middle order with Raina, Sharma, Y.Singh to name a few not to mention possible late smashers like Dhoni and one of the most destructive if not the most destructive late 20 20 hitter around in Y.Pathan. Their bowling hasn’t been as impressive in some of the warm up games but when they hit their stride they are potentially a top class package. Loads of left armers who often have success in 20 20s like Singh, Khan and Pathan and then front line spin of Ohja and Singh and 3/4 who can bowl part time spin which is often a useful 20 20 formula. India just look a cut above most of these teams and crucially have the most potential match winners in their side for me and for me they are the most likely winners. West Indies to win ICC World Twenty20 14/1 tote (1/2 odds 2 places) 3 pts e.w As a dark horse I like the WI. A few may laugh at that considering their shocking summer but cast minds back to 2004, woeful all summer and then right at the end from nowhere go and win the ICC Trophy in England and I wonder if it could be a similar story here. The talent is there. Gayle, arguably the biggest match winner in 20 20 of all if it all clicks and there were signs in his last warm up game that it was. A base middle order of Sarwan and Chanderpaul which even in 20 20 does still have importance and then a series of stroke makers around them like Fletcher, Pollard, Bravo. Also their bowling has the potential to work. Edwards and Taylor at the top and then a clever 20 20 bowler like Bravo not to mention Benn who generally has had some success in the small amount of 20 20s he has played before. Their initial draw is bad and most feel they are likely to go out from the group of depth but with Sri Lanka’s batting concerns I’m not so sure and if they did come through that I suddenly see them as a big threat as their possible second group is much kinder than the other likely second group. It is a bit of a longshot because their current form and attitude has been awful lately but there is a strong similarity with 2004 for me and this format suits the WI even more than 50 overs. C.Gayle top tournament run scorer 33/1 lad (1/4 odds 4 places) 2 pts e.w and top WI tournament run scorer 3/1 tote 10 pts Gayle will presumably be back opening from now on and if it clicks for him then the tournament needs to watch out. He is a frighteningly good hitter and can destroy any attack. He showed that in the last 20 20 world cup with a 100 in the first game. Of course the danger here is the possible early WI exit and I have put a fair bit that that wont happen although there is the clear potential. However if the WI get through the group of depth Gayle could suddenly look huge odds in this market and with a point to prove, I can see him having a good tournament. S.Raina top tournament run scorer 25/1 sj (1/4 odds 5 places) 2 pts e.w and top India tournament run scorer 9/2 sj 5 pts Raina was always regarded as a player to watch but now he has started to take his game up several levels and he has emerged into a fine batsman. He showed in the IPL what he can do and arguably he is not in the worst role in the India side to score some runs in this event. Much depends on precisely what India do but they could use Raina at 3 and after the potentially devastating but equally slightly hit and miss opening dup, Raina could be one of the key base functions towards India doing well providing he gets in the team and given India’s strength that cant be a 100% given. O.Shah top tournament run scorer 66/1 lad (1/4 odds 4 places) 2 pts e.w and top Eng tournament run scorer 6/1 bet3 5 pts It wouldn’t surprise me to see Shah have a good event. He will be smarting a bit after events of recent months but in the shorter formats of the game, he has a pretty good record. He has shown his ability in the one day format for England and recently top scored in the series against the WI. He also has shown in the past that he is a pretty good 20 20 player both for Middlesex where he played the match winning knock in last years domestic final but also for England at times is 20 20s both physically and also virtual 20 20s (shortened 50 over games that have been in effect 20 over games.) He is likely to bat at 4which is further up the order than the last 20 20 world cup and with a point to prove he could have a good event. J.Taylor top tournament wicket taker 66/1 pp (1/4 odds 4 places) 2 pts e.w and top WI tournament wicket taker 4/1 sky 10 pts I think Taylor’s price is too big here. Presumably it is thought the WI stay in this event could be short and that is a real possibility but equally they could squeeze through that group of depth and then Taylor could look quite big here. I have felt that he has struggled for fitness since his deciding test series wonder spell in Jamaica but slowly he has started to play more cricket as he has started to regain some fitness and when he does get it right, he is a dangerous customer. He played the first warm up game and hopefully will play in the event and if he does and the WI get through that tough first group, I can see him doing ok. J.Botha top tournament wicket taker 40/1 lad (1/4 odds 4 places) 2 pts e.w and top SA tournament wicket taker 6/1 lad 5 pts A bit risky this one as Botha has had problems with his now banned doosra but spin is a vital aspect in 20 20s and for SA I can see Botha being the main man in that regard. He has had success in the international stage in the past as batsmen have struggled with his unorthodox style. Also he has had success in 20 20s in the past and currently is going at less than 6 and over in this format which is mightily impressive. Despite his problems he still had some success in the warm up games and he could well translate that to the international stage. S.Tanvir top tournament wicket taker 33/1 sj (1/4 odds 5 places) 2 pts e.w and top Pak tournament wicket taker 5/1 sj 5 pts This guy was the revelation of the last 20 20 world up in many ways. A complete unknown he surprised everyone with his unusual left arm action that often caught batsmen out as he had a very successful tournament. He carried that success through into the first IPL where he was the leading wicket taker and a key player in the winning franchise. He couldn’t play in the last IPL but that means he is fresh enough for this and this classy performer could take some wickets in this event.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Some good posts there lads, interesting reads. :clap You are going to think im mad here but I think you could do a lot worse than back Holland today, dont get me wrong we should win comfortably but with prices of 20/1 flying around on Betfair I think there is a chance to back and lay off. Holland arent that bad when you considering they have Ten Doschate and Nannes in the side.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 England vs Netherlands 2 pts - Ravi Bopara top England batsman - VC Bet 11/4 - on form England batsman from the West Indies series. Top performing Englishman in the IPL. Test century vs the West Indies at Lords. 60 runs in the warm up game vs the Windies at Lords. Also, should England bat second then the run chase will hopefully be short so better chance of an opener being top batsman.

Re: Cricket: ICC World Twenty20 Also just seen this one: 3pts - Bopara vs Wright - Bopara -2.5 runs at 5/6 with Ladbrokes. Think the handicap here is wrong and is based too much on Wright's performance the other day. Bopara is a far superior batsman and with his current form should easily cover the 2.5 run handicap with a bit to spare.
