Re: Philossify through to Day 3 of Main Event! Unlucky Ed and mole :cry. Sheet I wish I'd have bet on myself now - though that would have been the kiss of death for me. Currently sitting here in the lounge with a glass of wine in front of me, travelled over to the Rio hoping to see Ed with a big smile on his face and stories of a big stack - early doors for me tonight (though DaMatrix did mention a porn convention at Planet Hollywood - Vegas the city that is always partying - when I was queuing for the WSOP they gave you free sachets of caffeine "uppers" I was wondering whether they give you free Viagra or free penicillin as you enter a porn convention :rollin) as I want to be totally aware for my all-in strategy tomorrow. :cheers:cheers:cheers

Re: Philossify through to Day 3 of Main Event! nice one Phil :clap Eck is still going as well, he starts day 3 on $85K :clap Myself and Steph ordained him into the Glenfiddich Gang taking our total members to three now, I'm not sure if the 10% deal was struck in time though :lol

Re: Philossify through to Day 3 of Main Event! Ah well - out 25 minutes into Day 3. Main damage done when my 99 all in was called buy an even smaller stack than mine who had KK. My all-in was against Phil Hellmuth who was sitting on my right and had raised to 4,800 - the other short stack won and left me on 6.5K of chips (with BB of 1600). UTG try with T7s never succeeded and I was out with only 600 to go to the money. It was fun and at least I can now do poker stories starting with "When I was playing against Phil Hellmuth and Kathy Liebert...." ;);) Will defo be playing to try and get in next year - preferably with Pokerstars - one of the guys here was bragging how he was on the focus table and Pokerstars have given him $80K for his "television time" ....

Re: Philossify through to Day 3 of Main Event!

Very unlucky mate Quick question, even with you getting low, did it ever creep into your head to just fold to the money?
If I'd had enough chips (like 100K) then I would have definitely been playing very tight until the money stage ... but with blinds and antes I reckon I wouldn't have lasted until 1000th place. (day started with 1307 and money started at 666th) Experience though was magic :ok - and in general I'm convinced that the general level of play is about the same as PL games. Major difference is the pro's are happy to play loose aggressive on day 1 and accumulate stack or go out rather than try my tactic of tight aggressive which everyone spots and refuses to double you up cheaply. Now for some shopping. :ok and drinking :cheers:cheers and some poker games where I pay to play :hope:hope:hope .

Re: Philossify through to Day 3 of Main Event! Well done in getting so close...it must be a proper downer to go out, whatever the hand that does it. But, as you say, you now have the stories to go with it. I also know that Ladbrokes were offering massive bonuses for their players who hit the TV tables too. So now we have a target for getting PLers to next years event...or maybe we will be pushing for the WSOPE in London. ???
