Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08

Recommended Posts

Curr 4.30 Tis Mighty 0.5 pts e.w Interesting runner, many of these are pretty exposed but this one looks an improver, it handles heavy ground as shown when second on its second ever start, won on third start last season but it was last run that encourages, it was second behind Redstone Dancer when just in front of Many Colors. Well that formline looks strong now, Redstone Dancer was a Group 3 winner by the end of the season and Many Colors was impressive in ireland and Dubai after that run, on its last two Dubai rusn it chased hoem Sun Classique and only just going down, thats the Sun Classique who won the Sheema Classic yesterday. Formlines read well, handles cut and should have strong place chances at least.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 4.25 Hexham. Player. Lay. (Racing Post F/C 3/1) Has to improve a little to beat the favourite, and although open to doing so looking at his profile, I just don't think he can manage to improve on this heavy ground. Ran once on it before and appeared to take a dislike to it, so I see no reason why that was just an off day with running quite well just before, and after it. So needs a little more anyhow, and with the heavy ground it seems a tough ask to finish ahead of the other main protagonists who will not mind the ground and have the form to go well. Much more a lay than a play at the prices, and if he goes and wins, then fair play to him.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 505 Kem: Wotchalike 1pt win Not much time, just to say this idled when hitting the front too soon last week, has stamina doubts too over this trip, but this looks very poor and should get home on this track, at least he's in form.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 W3.30 Nacadour 1pt Win Currently 4/1 which looks a decent price in a race where there are few genuine contenders. This one looks sure to run its race with conditions to suit and the jockey takes off a valuable 5lb. Also the youngest horse in the race and is less exposed than most of these.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 16.30 - Curragh Alarazi - Hasnt been seen for a year and has trained for this event, was a creditable 6th to creachadoir on its last outing. Horses that finished in front have gone on to win races. Cant see the trainer running this horse in such an profile event if it wern't ready. like m kinane best horse on the card quote!! 14/1 price taken 0.5pt e/w was really unlucky i thought started really slowly. finished like a train to take 4th was unlucky. one to watch!

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 Wotchalike is vunarable and off top weight will find it hard. But is one in form and there aren't many in this race. GL Graham :ok I am taking you on with .. 5.05 Wincanton - Bendarshaan 5783.gif Was running as good as anything lto, but got outpaced in the end and finished close 4th. The winner from this race Sir Peter is in the form of his life beating my yesterdays selection Jaunty Flight 2 runs ago. So I think the form is quite good and the shorter trip will suite. The good A Coleman claims 6lbs and trainer continues in good form. Can definitely win this weak contest.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 3.10 Downpatrick-RING STREET ROLLER E.W @ 6/1 It ran in listed company on its last race which was a bit beyond it. Before that ran in a better calibre race than this & won it nicely. Although up in weights it still has a very good chance at this level.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 Wincanton 4:00 Herecomesthetruth (BBOTD) Not raced since winning hurdle debut 17Dec07 but with those he defeated doing well since I suspect he will do the same. He was ahead of Pocket Aces (5L), Richard's Sundance (8 1/2L) and Panbourne (18 1/2L). Pangbourne followed up with two thirds and a Handicap Chase win on the next three. Pocket Aces won his next race and also a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle at Kempton 4 days ago. Richard's Sundance has a second and two thirds since losing to Herecomesthetruth. Owned by Paul K Barber & Mrs M Findlay is good to use of what is expected from him. 10pts win @ 5-4 Betfred

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 DOUBLE SHOT 4.15 Kempton. 0.5 points each way. Needs to find a shade, but up in trip which could bring improvement, and he also appears to have a fair looking weight on handicap debut. Conditions suitable, so if he can find that bit of improvement at the trip, then no reason why he cannot go close. Price is a value each way price currently.

Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sun 30/3/08 4.30 Curragh - Royal Island E/W Royal Island hasn't won since his Mark Johnston days over 2 years ago. He was sold for 60k in the late 2005 but wasn't seen for a year after that - obviously suffered an injury. Signs of him coming back into form on his last three runs however on the dirt. If he finds anywhere near his old form then he would be well handicapped here off just 85 - he was 2nd in our Lincoln in 2006 off 99. He will appreciate the straight mile and has won twice on heavy. Drawn high which has been a plus over the years.

Should have napped the 20/1 'second choice.'
