Re: The Mole Must be 50/50: either happens or not and last night it happened so regular it wasn't true. In 3 tourneys quite deep with decent chips: gone within 10 minutes all were 3 outers on the river pair over lower pair binking a set. Home game tonight these poor bastards are getting it :@:@:@

Re: The Mole

I'm interested to know' date=' as a person who is just starting out in cash games, would you of called a 5 BB raise out of position with Pkt 2s :unsure[/quote'] Of course i would these hands are the money spinners, lose a small pot or win a big one... Going back to the hand where i lost with straight flush, i believe boss media are bringing in a bad beat jackpot next month and i would've scooped 25k euro for that, it just gets worse :(

Re: The Mole For some reason I was looking through the high stakes cash tables, just being nosey. Noticed the mole sitting at one so opened the table. Didn't expect fireworks first hand :loon as Steph took down a €3555 pot with Kings full of Jacks :ok Closed the table with my 100% viewing record intact :lol Mole, you can send the cheque for 'positive mental belief services' made payable to...

Re: The Mole Ok its took me some time but alas i have found this thread :). I will resurrect it with a hand i just played that i am very proud of, this guy likes to use power to win hands and i decided to take a stand with him, the amazing thing is i was very confident i was winning all the way. The start of this year has been excellent as i have been winning consistantly, although i have kept away from the really big stakes (most of the time). ***** Hand 1527569085 ***** 10.00/20.00 Texas Hold'em (No Limit ) - 30 March 2009 10:57:21 Table TH 25 (Real /Cash Game ) Seat 1: Jeckah (5123.39) Seat 2: the_mole (2257.50) Seat 5: YuHuuU1 (2897.13) Seat 4: look2gd (2119.00) look2gd post SB 10.00 YuHuuU1 post BB 20.00 ** Deal ** Jeckah [N/A, N/A] the_mole [As, Qc] YuHuuU1 [N/A, N/A] look2gd [N/A, N/A] *** Bet Round 1 *** Jeckah Fold the_mole Raise to 57.50 look2gd Fold YuHuuU1 Raise to 180.00 the_mole Call 180.00 *** Flop(Board): *** : [5h, 2d, 8s] *** Bet Round 2 *** YuHuuU1 Bet 148.00 the_mole Call 148.00 *** Turn(Board): *** : [5h, 2d, 8s, Jc] *** Bet Round 3 *** YuHuuU1 Bet 432.00 the_mole Raise to 904.00 YuHuuU1 Raise to 1592.00 the_mole Call 1592.00 *** River(Board): *** : [5h, 2d, 8s, Jc, 6s] *** Bet Round 4 *** YuHuuU1 All-in 977.13 the_mole All-in 337.50 *** Showdown *** : Rake: 3.00 Total Pot: 4522.00 Jeckah Fold Win: 0.00 the_mole [As, Qc] Highest card ace Win: 4522.00 YuHuuU1 [10d, 9s] Highest card jack Win: 0.00 look2gd Fold Win: 0.00

Re: The Mole Wow... Just read through the thread its a bit of an eye opener! Congrats on everything over the last two years the mole/Steph/whatever you like to be called. The aggression levels from some of the hand histories you've posted almost scare me... I've just a few questions around your play. Firstly the aggression - do you choose when to really bet into people based on the flop or general gut instincts? The question is meant more to be when do you choose not to bet into people. I ask this because prior to reading this thread I tended to see extreme aggression as a bad thing. I can be forgiven slightly though because players at the local casino show the kind of aggression you do without the restraint - they pick up a few big pots off eachother then run into a concealed strong hand and lose all their money. Secondly do you think this kind of aggression is applicable right down the levels. So say at 5c/10c would you still advocate going after people as strongly as you do at the levels you play at? Anyone else who has any input on these questions is also welcome to answer! More opinions are always better :)

To be honest my game works at all levels as i have proved on a number of occasions. First of all its about how quickly you analyze the players at the table ( so you know what you can and cannot get away with) This is very important in short handed games especially. Aggression must be controlled i personally don't feel i am overly aggressive i know players who are and are very good at it. It's mostly an instinct but if you have analyzed the players properly then you will know when and when not to be aggressive. The other thing is being adaptable (most important word in poker) maybe being tight is the way to play at certain tables so thats what you must do. I will give your question more thought though as i have just read it. Cheers

Re: The Mole I'm not sure it's as simple as saying a VPIP/PFR is good or bad - if your style makes money it's good ;) For 6max I think that 21%/16% (VPIP/PFR) with an AF of between 2 and 3 is about what a lot of players aspire to - obviously if you get fewer than 6 players in the hand then those numbers should go up (you can filter in PT for the number of people in the hand).
