Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov Germany V Cyprus Coupon Buster this one imo. Cyprus have had a great campaign and drew away with teh Irish last match and held Czech to just 1 goal win. They also welcome back their tallysman Konstantinou and with the distinct posibility of qualifying above the Irish Cyprus will e going into this game with much to play for. With Promotion already assured for the Germans, this is the type of game that busts a coupon. Germany V Cyprus No Bet

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov I haven't been keeping with this competition at all and well I have some free bets stashed away for a nice situation.... Germany at $2.75 to win there group seems a little high... with two matches left for both themselves and the Czechs Germany currently top the group by a 6 goal difference and with both games at home I cannot see how the fans could forgive anything less than 6 points against two teams with no future in the competition. They must pick up for the fans over these matches or surely heads will roll. The only thing going against this bet is that they are secured a position into the next round no matter what the results. Any insight from someone who has done more than think about this for 15 minutes is appreciated...:ok

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov Not a great fan of betting on internationals. But 2 outsiders look to be overpriced. Northern Ireland redhand.gif@3.8 with Expekt to beat Denmark.10stork.jpg What a price for a team that beaten Sweden, Spain and England:loon in recent years. I assess the odds here to be 7/4.9/4 .7/4. Israel 01.jpg@8.0 with Betfair to beat Russia.13135.jpg Israel have a good record against Russia in recent years and even managed a draw in Russia.:loon Israel have only lost 2 from 18 since 2000 at home in compeitive games while the Russia team have only won 2 from their last 7 competitive away games. The RFO make Isreal odds 2.82.. Well worth a puint IMHO. Be'hatzlacha, Yitachen:ok

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov Bulgaria-Romania to me is a good game to follow on live-betting, knowing well both teams I wouldn't touch it even if I get tipped by both managers. The media in both countries exchanged some nasty stuff as soon as Romania won at home to Holland, the Romanians seem to be much better organised and focused. If they score first they surely won't lose, but even if they do they still have a massive chance to go through. The home team will start strong in attack, pushing for an early goal, but 1. their defence is weird and 2. in such game-starts the Romanians are most dangerous. In the same group I fancy Albania to win, odds are great. Saw the home team twice in Tirana vs Holland and vs Bulgaria and they are good! Unless this game is ''fixed''( plenty of arguments about fixed games last night in Bundesliga 2 :)) this is clear home win to me. Will also do this one in a combo with the Poles.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov It's the motivation factor, I don't buy the fact that something is fixed in the Israel v Russia match, nor do I think it happens anywhere near as much as some think it does. Russia @ 1.57 is a joke I agree, but they're priced on motivation and Israel's non motivation. I hope Israel can get a draw for England's sake, but I won't be holding my breath. With Bennayoun not playing that is a massive blow for Israel and England too.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov That really is a crazy, no I mean CRAZY price on N Ireland too! :eek It's based on the fact that Denmark can still qualify, but they won't so I don't see how they can be 2.10, in fact that is close to the lay of the century at that price, as Denmark are not a good team at the moment imo.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov I don't doubt the motivation is there with the Russians. But nobody can say that they know for a fact that the Israelis have zero motivation. It's a false assumption and a dangerous one. So many times I've seen this logic backfire spectacularly for punters who make these assumptions. I haven't seen anything in the Russians play that convinces me they can win in Israel.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov Also, 1.55 on Estonia to beat Andorra?:eek I think that's generous as Estonia have talent. They may not be the best side in the world but they can surely beat Andorra comfortably? I would have expected something like 1.20-1.25 for an Estonian win here.

I completely agree with you HBM. I've also seen the motivation factor get turned on its head quite a few times, so I tend to ignore it and go with value. Russia are probably the same price, Argentina or Brazil would be in the same match, and clearly Russia are not even close to either of those teams in quality. :ok :welcome to PL btw. :ok

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov

ISRAEL are a huge price. Let me guess why, they won't be trying v Russia Russia have bought the result LOL I am LAYING Russia at a ridiculous 1/2 that is the worst price I've seen on an International side in a long long time.
Agree on this, at this price Russia is only worth in a combo. Even if your suggestion "bought the game" is wrong, the Russians will field an excellent team, and with their League over, top motivation and a manager who can win this kind of games I do not expect a miracle from Israel.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov what you need to remember here, especially with the germany bet that the group winners will be seeded one which is not a help. Other seed ones will be greece, austria, switzerland, thats why germany don't want to win that group so i'd swerve that one like crazy. Only games I'd be considering are ones where one side must win, such as the italy v scotland game.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov ENGLAND suffered a Euro bombshell last night when one of Israel’s coaches confessed: “I want Russia to qualify.” Incredibly, he also admitted Israel plan to field a team of unknown youngsters on Saturday. Israel keeper coach Alexander Ubarov, 47, said: “I would like Russia to qualify for the Euros — and for them that means winning in Israel. “I told them it’s not going to be easy — they’ll have to be totally prepared. In the 16 years I have been involved with the Israeli squad, we have never done anything but to try our best in every single match. “I would like Russia to qualify — but only if it means that they deserve to. “Everything will be decided on the pitch, nowhere else.” Just some news.. draw your conclusions. I think about "no bet" or -1 with European Handicap for Russia. I won't be touching the high price on the Home Win with these youngsters.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov Two things. Firsty, you forgot to mention that this coach is RUSSIAN :loon so what a shock that he would love to see Russia qualify LOL Secondly, he says "we have never done anything but to try our best in every single match". So they're an honest bunch, the Israelis. Russia are a big big big LAY at that price.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov The Israel v Russia game is attracting a lot of attention here and I think it's easy to see why; Israel's record is exemplary at home and, until recently, Russia have not looked anything special. My problem is the Hiddink factor: even though all probabilty logic says that Russia are way too short and should be laid, I think that Hiddink will have his players highly motivated for this one and my gut feeling is that Russia will win. More than a gut feeling actually - their result v England although achieved in Moscow was a far far cry from their pathetic effort in England and I think this is evidence that the team have been improving. I agree that motivation is not everything and that players can have motivation higher than that of qualifying, but I think we should consider a good recent analogy. At the end of last season, West Ham visited Man U needing a result, and although United talked up how hard they would try in this game anyone who watched the game will remember the crucial first fifteen minutes when United's adventurous approach was curtailed by a couple of bone-crunching tackles. You could almost hear the United players thinking "uh oh," before dreaming of the beach towel and sangria that awaited them....why risk six months in plaster? I'm not saying that W. Ham were, or that Russia will be, cynical, simply that the desire will not be as great and that I actually think the Russians have wised up. No bet on the away though at that price (or bet on England not to qualify instead if you can get a decent price).

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov There been extensive study into the "moltivation factor" in soccer matches by Kevin Pullen. The graphs produced clearly showed that teams that needed to win actually did worse then expected and even worse then their previous performances where there was no pressure. BTW here are the stats from the Man U V Weat Ham match. IMO West Ham were just plain lucky.

20Shots On Target 4
8Shots Off Target 2
13Fouls (Conceded) 11
14Corners 3
Also is not Alexander Ubarov Jewish?

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov The histrorical memory is pretty short everywhere in the world. Doesn't anyone remember - the Russians blew it two years ago and the U-21 did the same a lot of punters thought the home match against Denmark was fixed and only some ridiculous prices were available. Simply, the Russians have been chokers of late with this history, the short price doesn't appeal to me at all.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov

Also - no motivation in the Czecho-Slovak derby on either side.
Would you consider this one as an Over, with the Slovaks relaxed and nothing to play for? IMO this would be my choice to watch as an entertaining game. Cheers

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers Sat 17th Nov were all ready to go up here !! the whole country is pandemonium just now. ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=pAFA_X-iMHY ) :ok My worry is the Italians need/want a draw and if theres a country youd bet on to get a draw if they needed it it would be Italy, set-pieces IMO are our best chance of scoring with the height coming from the back, I can def see under 2.5 here. Also agree with PR on Estonia at Andorra - Estonia have some technical ability that should be far too much for the cobblers, postmen etc.. of the Anorrans. .
