Re: WSOP Main Event Aram Zerounian Eliminated Shortly before the break Aram Zerounian survived an all in with a short stack. He screamed as loud as he could as it was hard to mask his sheer elation about avoiding elimination. "I haven't screamed that loud since I had sex with my wife!" he said which got a few chuckles from everyone around him, including his wife who happened to be standing right behind him on the rail. Sadly, Aram Zerounian's run at the WSOP is over. He busted out courtesy of a wicked beat by Weldon Jackson. Zerounian moved all in with 10s.gif10h.gif. Jackson called with ah.gifkd.gif. The flop wasqd.gif8d.gif7c.gif. The turn was the 10c.gif. Zerounian improved his hand with a set, but it also gave Jackson more outs with a gutshot. The river was the js.gif. Zerounian couldn't believe that his tournament life was over. Jackson rivered a Broadway straight as Zerounian headed to the rail to be consoled by his wife. Weldon Jackson increased his stack to 95,000 after that hand.

Re: WSOP Main Event Yarom Limor Eliminated Yarom Limor bet out on a flop of kh.gifqd.gif6h.gif and Christian Abele raised enough to put him all in. "I guess I'm pot committed," Limor shrugged, as he called off the rest of his chips. Limor turned over qs.gifjc.gif and discovered he was well behind Abele's kc.gif4c.gif. The turn was the 9s.gif, the river was the 8d.gif, and Limor was eliminated from the Main Event. Stefan Vlananderen Eliminated Team PokerNews player Stefan Vlaanderen is all in preflop with J-8 against another player's Q-J, and he'll need to improve to survive. The small blind sheepishly turned over the "Doyle Brunson," 10c.gif2d.gif, while Brown showed qh.gifqc.gif. The flop was ah.gifkh.gif10h.gif, but the turn was the 2s.gif, making the small blind two pair. The river was the 4s.gif, and nearly 70K was shipped into the small blind's stack. Re: WSOP Main Event Chad Brown Busts a Player; Now Up to 500,000 With the final board showing ac.gif9c.gif4h.gif5d.gif4s.gif on the river, Chad Brown bets 100,000 into a 100,000 pot, which is enough to put his opponent all in. His opponent calls with as.gif8s.gif for two pair, aces and fours. But Brown shows da.gif5s.gif for a higher two pair, aces and fives, to win the pot. Brown busts his opponent and increases his chip count to about 500,000, putting him up near the top 10.

Re: WSOP Main Event Table Talk Penalty Issues Juan Fernadezi, currently sitting at table 6, has just been warned to follow the rules. The floor staff was called over because Fernadezi was speaking in Spanish during hands. "This is an English-only game. You have to be able to speak English in order to play here. If you can't, you can talk only when the dealer is shuffling," was the warning issued to Juan. He's been told he will receive penalties if he continues to speak in Spanish, even when the table tried to inform the floor staff that he can't speak any English. The players at the table, seemingly disappointed by the ruling, were getting along quite well before the ruling came down. The table has been playing in almost complete silence since the warning was issued. As an interesting aside, we have had two blind players play in the Main Event who were allowed assistants to sit behind them and whisper their hole cards, as well as the action around the table, into their ear.

Re: WSOP Main Event More Chips for Jett With 75,000 in the pot on a da.gif7h.gif6d.gif flop, Chip Jett moved all in from the small blind. Lynn eventually folded A-10 face-up and Jett took the pot. After the hand Jeff was up to 210,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event Robert Damiano Doubles Up Into Too Many Chips With the final board showing 9d.gif9h.gif4h.gifqc.gifjs.gif and about 150,000 already in the pot, Robert Damiano is all in for 173,900. He has a high number of small-denomination chips, and it's taking the dealer a while to call out the size of the bet. His opponent cuts him short and says, "It doesn't matter. I call." He shows kc.gifkh.gif for an overpair. Damiano shows 9s.gif8c.gif for trip nines to win the pot. It now takes another 3-4 minutes to count down Damiano's stack, and when it's complete, they arrive at the total of 173,900. When his opponent's chips are added to the pile, it dominates Damiano's side of the table. The dealer is left wondering what to do, as it's nearly impossible to deal to players on that side. The tournament staff steps in and starts coloring up Damiano's chips into a manageable stack. When it's all said and done, Damiano's poor opponent is left with just 3,000 in chips. He was eliminated about ten minutes later.

Re: WSOP Main Event Celebrity Shock "Sorel Mizzi, sorry to bother you, but I've got someone here who'd like to meet you," the floor staff said after getting Mizzi's attention. Mizzi turned around to see a very tall Norm Macdonald standing behind him. Norm Macdonald has been walking the tournament floor area here for the last twenty minutes or so, while ESPN camera crews and Harrahs media followed him. "I'm a big fan," Norm said while shaking Mizzi's hand. "I've watched you play a lot." "Oh yeah? You've watched me play?" "Yeah, online, I watch you play online a lot." "Really?" It was a little hard to determine which celebrity was more shocked, Macdonald or Mizzi. But each of them seemed incredibly happy to meet the other and as Norm walked away from the table, the other players there immediately chimed in with, "What did he just say?"

Re: WSOP Main Event A Bit of a Mess Ravi Lopez raised to 7,000, Christiane Klecz re-raised to 21K, and Lopez moved all-in. Klecz called and showed pocket Aces, Lopez held pocket Tens, and the board ran out 2d.gif8d.gif5c.gif9s.gifkd.gif, eliminating Lopez. Or...did it? "I'm out?" Lopez asked, confused as the dealer sorted through both stacks to determine if Klecz indeed had him covered. The dealer said that Klecz did indeed have more chips and started to move the stacks to her. But there was some confusion as to whether the chips for Klecz's orignial call were added to the pot. There wasn't a count taken of Lopez's chips when he made his all-in raise, and now all the chips are mixed together. There are several floorpersons gathered around the table trying to recreate what happened. Adding to the problem is that Lopez doesn't speak much English. A Spanish-speaking member of the media is helping interpret, but the situation will take some time to resolve. And the other players are impatient to get back to play. We'll keep you posted when this all gets resolved.

"I think this one's a loose cannon" quipped Gavin Smith, seated on her left.

Re: WSOP Main Event Thinking or Hollywooding? Lee Watkinson and Gary Benson were invovled in two pots. During the first one, benson opened up for a aise of 8,000 from UTG. Watkinson raised to 30,000 from the cut off. Benson went into the tank for five minutes before he folded. On the next hand, on a flop of da.gifjd.gif3d.gif, Benson checked and Watkinson bet 10,000. Benson went into the tabk for another five minutes before he called. The turn was the 7c.gif. Benson checked. Watkinson bet 20,000 and Benson quickly moved all in for his last 30,000. Watkinson folded and fired his cards into the muck. Watkinson mumbled something to the player next to him about how he though Benson went "Hollywood" on the flop call. Benson did not say anything as he stacked up his chips.

Re: WSOP Main Event "Oh, It's On His Hat!" Chris "The Armenian Express" Gregorian just doubled up on a board of jd.gif9s.gif6s.gif8c.gifks.gif holding qc.gif10c.gif. After the hand, Norm MacDonald, still lingering the rails here in the Amazon Room, approached one of our reporters and asked, "Is that Chris Gregorian?" Our reporter assured him it was and Norm, still in doubt, asked, "The Armenian Express guy?" Again, our reporter assured him it was, but this time Norm immediately responded, "OH! It's on his hat!". "Yeah, that's him," our reporter responded. "Are you just messing with me?" "No, I didn't see it was on his hat." A few moments later, Norm was overheard telling a floor staff, "That's an awful picture of Jamie Gold," while addressing the giant banner of Bobby Baldwin.
