Re: WSOP Main Event Bryan Veach Running with the Devil Bryan Veach was all in with 6-6 against a player with A-A. The board ran out 9h.gif8c.gif3s.gifqd.gif6h.gif. Veach rivered a set to crack pocket Aces. He jumped up and screamed. He ran over to tell Jesus Ferguson about the hand and said, "Jesus, I'm running with the devil!" The players at Veach's table descried the hand as, "Sick. Sick. Sick." Veach increased his stack to 112,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event A Gutsy All-In for Avery Cardoza On a flop of 8d.gif7h.gif5h.gif, an opponent bet out 17,600 and Avery Cardoza held A-8-- top pair, top kicker, but looking at a possible straight and a flush draw out there. He decided to go for it and called all in. His opponent showed jh.gif9s.gif and was hoping to take the pot on the flop. The turn was the 3h.gif, the as.gif hit on the river, and Cardoza dragged the pot.

Re: WSOP Main Event But This Was Supposed To Be "The Summer Of George!" A player limps from middle position for 1,200, Jason Alexander moves all in from late position for 28,800, and his opponent calls with as.gifkh.gif. Alexander shows kc.gifqc.gif, and he'll need to improve to stay alive. The board comes 10d.gif2d.gif2c.gif10s.gif8c.gif, and Alexander loses with a lower kicker on the double-paired board. Jason Alexander, famously known for playing George Costanza on "Seinfeld," has been eliminated from the Main Event. ESPN caught him walking away from the table, and he gave them a brief walking interview on his way out. He went a respectable distance in this tournament, and we applaud his efforts. Once he reached the doors leading out of the Amazon Room, he turned to face the remaining players and screamed at the top of his lungs, "This was supposed to be the Summer of George!" Okay, that last part may not have actually happened. But that's how I'll always think of it.

Re: WSOP Main Event wtf>??????????????? Blind Player Hal Lubarsky Up to 45,000 Hal Lubarsky, a blind man who is able to play with the help of an assistant who reads the cards to him, is still in action here on Day 2b. A player raises to 4,100, Lubarsky calls from the button, and the big blind calls. The flop comes da.gifas.gif5h.gif, two players check, Lubarsky bets 6,600, and his opponents fold. Lubarsky takes the pot, increasing his stack to about 45,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event Sully Erna Needs this Pot The UTG player raised to 3,600 pre-flop, Sully Erna (of Godsmack fame) called from middle position, the cutoff called and Matt Brady called from the button. The flop was kh.gifjs.gif8s.gif. UTG bet 7,200, and crying out "I need this pot!" Erna moved all in for 23,000. The cutoff moved all in behind him for 40,000, Brady folded, and UTG mucked ah.gifda.gif face-up. Erna turned up kd.gifqc.gif for top pair, while the cutoff tabled jd.gifjc.gif for middle set. Erna would need a miracle to survive... and he got it with the 10c.gif on the turn and the 9c.gif on the river, making him a runner-runner straight to win the pot. Erna was up to 72,000 after the hand.

Re: WSOP Main Event Amnon Filippi Runs Two Pair Into a Flush One player is all in preflop, while the button and Amnon Filippi (in the big blind) continue playing for a side pot. The flop comes jh.gif10c.gif6c.gif, and both players check. The turn card is the 5c.gif, Filippi checks, his opponent bets 40,000, and Filippi calls. The river card is the as.gif, and both players check. Filippi's shows 10d.gif6d.gif for two pair, tens and sixes, but his opponent wins the side pot with 8c.gif7c.gif for a club flush. The all-in player mucks, and the flush takes the entire pot. Amnon Filippi is down to about 34,000 in chips.

Re: WSOP Main Event Gus Hansen Cleans Up His Mess, But Pays The Price Gus Hansen enters the pot from late position, and the small blind moves all in for about 9,800. There is a question as to how much he has and how much is in the pot. The dealer recreates the action with the help of another player, and they count down the pot, coming up with 9,600. Hansen notices an error, and he steps in to do it again, this time coming up with 9,800. The original player sees his error, and everyone agrees that everything is correct. At this point, Gus Hansen says, "I guess I have to call since I made this mess." Hansen calls with 10h.gif6h.gif, and his opponent shows as.gif6c.gif -- Hansen figured his cards would at least be live, but he's dominated. The board comes 8d.gif5h.gif2c.gif8h.gifqs.gif, and his opponent doubles up. Hansen is down to about 180,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event Richard Murnick vs. Jon 'PearlJammer' Turner After a flop of 10c.gif4c.gif2d.gif, Richard Murnick bets 7,000, Jon 'PearlJammer' Turner raises to 20,000, and Murnick calls, and there is now about 60,000 in the pot. The turn card is the jc.gif, and both players check. The river card is the 9d.gif, Murnick bets 15,000, and Turner calls. Murnick shows ac.gif8c.gif for the nut flush, and Turner mucks. Murnick builds his stack to 290,000, while Turner drops down to 36,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event Daniel Negreanu Loses A Pot...But It Could've Been Worse From the cutoff Negreanu raised to 3,000 and the player in the small blind re-raised to 9K. Negreanu called and they saw a 5s.gif4h.gifqs.gif flop. The other player bet 12K, Negreanu called. Then they both checked down the 2c.gif on the turn and the 5d.gif on the river. The other player showed a conservatively-played pair of Aces, while Negreanu flashed a Queen before mucking. He's now down to 175K.

Re: WSOP Main Event Advice You Can Trust A player in early position raised to 4,500 and Tim Frazin and Bernard Lee called. The flop came 7d.gif8h.gif9s.gif, the raiser checked and Frazin bet 12K. Lee moved all-in for 44,000 and the early position player got out of the way. Frazin pondered the situation...and then said, "It's up to the Magic 8-ball." Yes, Frazin has a Magic 8-ball sitting on the table with him and let it decide his move. Frazin said that his tendency is to fold, so he gave the 8-ball a healthy shake and asked, "Should I fold this hand?" The answer? "OUTLOOK GOOD". Frazin mucked his ac.gif10c.gif face up, and Lee turned over pocket Nines for the set. Whether Frazin would've won the hand in the end is a question whose answer is known only to the Magic 8-Ball.

Re: WSOP Main Event "Could You Repeat That Flop For Me, Please?" The small blind raises to 3,600, and Hal Lubarsky calls from the big blind. As we've mentioned before, Lubarsky is legally blind, and only able to play with an assistant who reads the cards and describes the betting for him, whispering into his ear. The flop comes jh.gif4h.gif4s.gif, the small blind bets 9,600, and Lubarsky calls. The turn card is the qd.gif, the small blind bets 15,000, Lubarsky moves all in for 35,900, and the small blind calls with ac.gifjs.gif for two pair, jacks and fours, with an ace kicker. But Lubarsky shows 4c.gif4d.gif for quad fours. The meaningless river card is the 3c.gif, and Lubarsky's quads take the pot, increasing his stack to about 106,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event Chip Jett, Full Speed Ahead Shortly before the break, a player is all in preflop for 51,600 with 10d.gif10s.gif against Chip Jett's da.gifqc.gif. The board comes as.gif10c.gif6h.gif8h.gifjd.gif, and Jett's opponent flops a set of tens to win the pot and double up over 100,000 in chips. Chip Jett takes a hit, but still has a very healthy stack with 242,000.

Re: WSOP Main Event Richard Weisman Up to 485K On a board reading 7s.gif6d.gif3c.gifjs.gif6h.gif, Richard Weisman bet 30,000 on the river and his opponent thought for an eternity. "Did you make three sixes again?" he wondered aloud, before finally calling. Weisman's hand was better than that-- he turned over 3-3 for a full house and his opponent mucked. Weisman was up to 485,000 after the hand.
