Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) A couple of small ones for the Hawthorn game tomorrow, based primarily on H2H/Aurora records and the fact I expect it to be fairly low scoring. Either Team Under 15.5pts @ 3.15 (2 of the last 3 at Aurora between these two have gone this and with no Kerr I can't see the Weagles running away with it. Can't see the Hawks dominating either so 3.15 for a 30pts range suits me fine). Total Match Points 171-180 @ 9.00 Again based on Aurora stats. I think the last 2 of Weagles away game have gone this too? Probably will end under 171 but at 9s I'm happy to be on it for the perceived value. Will almost certainly be on the Crows first to 25 tomorrow and god knows what other bets that involve Carlton getting raped.

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th)

What did the over 39.5 pay?
Not sure...but after watching the replay, I was glad I wasn't on it!! (Not that I ever even thought about it...) St. Kilda absolutely butchered chances in front of goal...the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter was like a comedy! At one stage I50's were 34-27 Saints way, but were about 4 goals down. Unlucky in a sense to lose by that much given they dominated large parts of the game..>Freo went mad for 5 minutes in the last and it's a blow out. Saints should be good value next week back in the dome v. Geelong ;) Weather starting to look a bit nastty down here...some dark clouds about and could be a fresh wind. Like I said earlier, we don't get a lot of rain during the day, but won't be surprised if it's not the best game to watch. Fairly big go on the Hawks...into +5.5 @ Centrebet. Not sure who it was (sorry!) who was thinking of the high/low double with the Saints as the low...hopefully the weather won't affect it too much. 56 is definately lowish! :tongue2

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th)

Bit stiff there. MakDaddy... ...Hawks got on a huge roll, and Eagles continue to struggle up forward...esp. with their kicking.
Looking back it was a bad bet but the way the scoring was going an the fact that the bookies wernt reacting I had planed it from start of the 2nd period... no biggy at 1 point i only needed 1 more goal which came close with a BOMBED attempt from 35 out on the run... and a behind hitting the post... so it was a close 1 I feel like im loosing alot of those each way things recently... struggling 2 stay even because of it...

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) I sucked in today's two games but a small bet for tonight, Charman top match scorer @ 31.00 I think Brisbane need a new target to take the pressure off Brown and Charman has the right build to be this person. Again looking at this from the value aspect rather than the PAWP aspect of picking the silly git that plays Full Forward for Spewingwood :)

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Is there anything worse than an umpire deciding a game??!! Very, very, very, very, very, very, VERY unlucky Tigers. I can't imagine (I lie, yes I can) what would have happened if Richo had have been Hird and vice-verca... ...Absolute ****ing joke. It's taken me a few weeks to jump onboard, but move over Bjv...I'm on the umpires-are-ruining-a-perfectly-good-game wagon! PS. I'm not sure I actually managed to get across just how much of a ****ing joke that result was...

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Still...best not complain too much. Decent results for me so far...although a few hairy moments along the Crows way. Hawks were very good... Trust this to be the week Collingwood kick straight!!! 52 shots is pretty unlucky to crack the 200 mark... ...still Brisbane now clearly aren't the team they sort-of, kinda made out they were going to be. Tigers easily cover the spread and probably shuld have won... ...have I mentioned before that they probably should have won? Hmmm.... Giant white magot arse ****ing **** sucking wank stains...

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Just saw last bit of Richmond game. Umps are good but the rules need to be turned back 20 years. Must remember Richo one always looks different in 2D once shown from couple other angles - OK, did look tough ;). Psychology lesson: Wallace, not on mate! As i said, just saw last bit, but do not wreck team momentum by overcoaching with keep possesion nonsence! Worked over Adelaide but that was different situation where they wrestled the mental edge by doing it. Let em go and they would have won the game tonight. Caused psycholgy swing by telling players to be like that.

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) The Pies finally win at the Gabba, and more importantly, finally beat Brisbane at the Gabba. They have now beaten Adelaide and Brisbane away from home and surely have now earnt some respect :dude I actually went down to see the Carlton/Adelaide game at the Dome yesterday with Ads and Jeffers, and wasn't a bad contest. First time I have been to a game where the crowd was less than 50,000 for a while (cos i usually go to Collingwood games :lol) and I thought Collingwood supporters were ferals, but some of the Carlton supporters I seen yesterday, crikey! Ads and Jeffers made more excuses for the Blues losing than John Howard, but at least I will say sorry, I will say sorry to anyone who follows Carlton :rollin Good game to watch to be honest, reasonably close all day. Then went to the Casino to play some poker and watch the Collingwood/Brisbane game which was another good contest. Then when that finished I watched the last quarter of the Richmond/Essendon game which was great fnish until the Richardson free kick decision. The worst thing about that decision, even if there was slight touching in the back (didn't push Michael out of the contest) was when they awarded a 50m penalty against Richo. Umpires need to be more in tune with the emotion of the game. It was a pivotal play of the game and they can surely understand what the player is going through, then to give 50m just destroys it. Two courage awards from last night's games. One - Matthew Richardson for even playing considering his team is bottom of the ladder. The injuries he sustained last week were fairly horrendous, and to will himself out onto the ground when he could quite considerably get knocks to the same region speaks volumes for his commitment to the cause. Two - Johnathan Brown's mark in the last quarter when running flat out to his forward line with no fear, face first into anything that lay ahead to take the gutsiest of marks was one of the bravest marks you will ever see. Hope everyone got on the Pies :ok Before the footy yesterday I had a multiple into Pies/Bombers/Sydney at what I thought were pretty good odds of $4-41, and just need the Swans to do their bit. Can't believe the Swans are $1-75 actually. Ads and Jeffers had a multiple on Richmond +20 into Melbourne Under 39.5, so they need the Demons to salute. :clap

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) I do totally agree Ash...umpires (as bad as they were all night, not just that last one) not really to blame. The least skillful team in the comp trying to play keepings off with 8 minutes laft??!! Get outta here. The absolute killer was late...pretty sure the Tiges were 12 up, Deledio has the ball inside 50...a goal pretty much ends it, and even a point is very handy (would probably have prevented a loss)...and he turns around and kicks it 20 metres backwards??!!! WTF???! Madness! Oh well...Fair chance I'll drop one (a tip) today, so no real damage done! Keep hearing reports that Brad Johnson is out for the Dogs...

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) I was sitting in Crown Casino thinking the exact same thing Taza about Deludio :loon He was running forward towards goal, why wouldn't he have a shot? Must have been under instructions to do so. Everything you said in earlier post sums this game up exactly, and again you are spot on :ok In papers here through the week Brad Johnson was always 50/50 and wouldn't be surprised if he is out. Beejay has 5 from 5 so far on AFL site, miles behind though. Doubt many would have picked the Pies. I have Geelong, Sydney and Kangas today :)

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Score Predictor & My Tips(in Bold) Western Bulldogs 96 Sydney 92 Melbourne 59 Kangaroos 97 Port Adelaide 96 Geelong 111

The Western Bulldogs face a Sydney team missing Davis and Kennelly. The Swans are full of confidence after beating Port but will miss the rebound from Kennelly. The Bulldogs will miss the run of Griffen and McMahon and will not appreciate the close checking tactics of the Swans. The Swans will show they are still a force by disposing of the Dogs, but it won't be a pretty game.

In the other games, I think the Demons can break their duck with Robertson too boost their attack, whilst Port should be too quick for the Cats in Adelaide.

Suggested Bets

SYDNEY Win, Margin 1-39

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) One for Sunday: Broncos ML / Kangaroos ML (+102) --------- 1 unit gl Could be stepping right into a pile of turd with the Kangaroos pick ... The odds suggest bookmakers believe melbourne is simply due because the Roos are clearly playing far better football at the moment ... However the Dees' are returning from WA and that's what has me comfortable taking the Roos as favourites in this ...

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Deledio was under instruction to play keepings off, apparently. What these ground records often do is give us value on the team with the poor record, IMO. That's why I'm often on that team. Pies are very impressive the way go about it. O'Bree was brilliant, so to R. Shaw, also one of my favourite players in Burns.

Haven't you constructed this incorrectly bjv? Did you mean not to start a new paragraph? :unsure ;)

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Sydney now doing as they do shutting the game down.... its all them playing at their pace and really Dogs have no answers.... really they have 2 come up with something to get I50 or they look 2 be humiliated and a few peoples lowest score of the round is in serious jepordy... the game is pretty much over... dogs made a good run home last week 2 win but cant see it happening here... Sydney 2 dominating.... had some nice bets that all look very good especially the likely winding down of the game as sydney will essentially defend their lead (not say they still wont score).... may be a little dull that your average slugfest but as a Swans fan I really dont care all that much... we needed this game....:ok

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) Swans have clicked into another gear in the past 2 weeks Daddy. Taza actually inspired me to take the Pies/Bombers/Swans treble with his stats on I50's, and that the Doggies would struggle against the Swans getting inside 50...I already posted earlier in the thread that I thought Pies were great value on recent form, and only threw the Bombers in to bump the price up, but Swans were great odds at 1-75 IMO. I have tipped Geelong today in local tipping and not sure of the reason considering they have poor away record, but something is telling me they will get over Port today. I don't know why, but think they may try to make a statement with this afternoon's game.

Re: AFL Football - Round 9 (May 25th - 27th) I also got on the Swans today. Just need Melbourne to win their match by Under 39.5 points to get my multibet up from the Richmond game last night and it will be a fair weekend. Demons down by a goal at qtr time
