Re: PokerPlayer Betfair Grand Prix III No you didnt offend anyone hornet, well perhaps dancing naked on the final table was a bit over the top;). I was just reading one of your posts on pokerplayer where you say I quote "I am jealous of you guys whose partners are travelling down with them to London on Friday. I mentioned to my wife about it. Her response was: "If I want to watch you get drunk, ignore me, and play poker for hours, I can see that at home" She obviously new something we did,nt!:rollin Don,t think you won the sng but you were making moves that Gus Hansen would call reckless! I expect you will be on the top ten rated on youtube in the next couple of days:ok

Re: PokerPlayer Betfair Grand Prix III where to start? things may not be in the right order , just as they returned to me since saturday morning.:) got to london in good time, arrived at marlybone at 1400, arrive at the travel lodge in docklands at 1600 (mike decided it would be nice to walk there, glad i only packed a few things and just had a small rucksack) met up with steve (happyhornet) at the hotel, top bloke :ok , we got a taxi to city bunker and found the nearest bar to hang out in till the bunker opened. met up with rob (moneyivy), goater and his good lady and moface when the city bunker opened , all top people :ok . got seated ready for the tournament and noticed a couple of familiar faces (sam and andy) so was pleased to see them both , im sure it was less than i week since i last saw them both :D . onto the poker, didnt see much in the way of hands , took a few chips with qq, lost a few with AJo, then i got KJ of diamonds, put in a raise , big blind called, flop 2d jh 6h, i raised, the guy re-raised me , pretty much pot commited so went all in, he turns over 85h an gets a heart on the turn, 2nd person out :sad , even worse than that is mikes still in, by now i know im never gonna live this down. and true to form mike stands up from the other side of the room and gives me the biggest cheer he could muster up :spank . oh well , off to the bar i go :D . went in a stt and bubbled, but at least a pler came in the money , well done sam :clap :clap :clap . here endeth the free bar, asked mike for some cash , he tells me i need to find a cash point, then the adventure begins. sam and andy escorted me to the nearest cash machine (across the road and down a bit) at the cinema, out of order, great, so off to the nearest pub, (out of bloody order) we then got told get on that train (the one in the distance way over there) get off at the first stop and theres some cash machines , oh well , we had a good laugh getting there in the end, although im sure sam and andy would have got home a lot earlier if they wernt dragged round half of london looking for a cash machine. a huge thanks :notworthy to them both for looking after me. back to the venue, by this time i have no idea how mike is doing, still about 3 tables full left in, so back to the bar for a few more :beer . had a drink with goater, tracy and steve, who then fell flat on his arse, not sure how as he was leaning on the bar at the time , think it may have been a del boy moment :rollin :rollin , i was quite good, i didnt laugh until i knew he was fine and hadnt hurt himself. he then went awol, but later found out the nice guy on the door had put him in a taxi back to the hotel. now things start getting a little hazy, i remember mike making the final table, the magazine photograper and tv guy get the final 9 set up for a photo shoot, i pushed in with my little camera stating "excuse me , saban pokerblog shots", took a couple of shots (think i made the final 9 sit back down again for another shot, oooops :$ ). then i allow play to carry on :lol . mike makes the final 2 and is informed he has won the main prize, i start bouncing round the room, giving everyone a hug :$ , was mega chuffed, seem to remember standing with mike holding a big cardboard cheque , i think we both looked like wallace and gromit with huge cheesy grins :D . somehow ended up back at robs hotel with the pokerplayer guys, what a great bunch they are, took a fair few photos so when we get the camera back mike will post them up, dont know what they are of but im sure they will raise a grin or 2 from people. got back to our hotel when ever, not to sure, remember posting on pl but i have no idea what the comment "mikes smalls in the laundrette" is about, im sure it was relavent at the time, was chuffed i could think of such a long word in the state i was in to be honest:lol . all in all , a fantasitic night , big :clap :clap :clap :clap to betfair and poker player. a big hug to all i met and were so nice. and yet again, sam and andy :notworthy :notworthy .

Re: PokerPlayer Betfair Grand Prix III Thanks guys. Good to meet you too sir! It's always nice to put faces to names! I actually saw quite a few players with Punters Lounge t-shirts on at the tournament. So hello to you all! Also, I am pretty sure that happyhornet is the guy we spotted on the 4th floor of the Travel-lodge, laid out cold on the floor outside the lift, with his wallet and his room key-card out in-front of him! I tried to wake him, but to no avail. We then went back down and contacted the front desk who said that they had also tried to wake him, but they couldn't get him to move. I do hope you were not robbed mate, but the travel-lodge reception guys seemed dead cagey when I mentioned you and told me you were a regular who did this sort of thing often??? Considering I had seen you at the poker I didnt particularly believe this. I gotta be honest, they made me very suspicious. When we got back up to where you were there was another couple there (he was aking me how I got on, so he must have been playing poker too) and she put your card-key back into your wallet and pushed it underneath you, you still wouldn't wake up so we decided it best to leave you to sleep it off. If I can be of any further assistance let me know. ATB Burnleymik
