Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund

Another German team stands on Manchester City’s way to the Champions League glory. Once again, the Citizens need to face Borussia, but this time, the one from Dortmund. Pep Guardiola’s side easily knocked out Monchengladbach with a 4:0 aggregate win. Ilkay Gundogan and the lads are marching towards the Premier League title, as they are 14 points ahead of Manchester United. The hosts managed to get back on the winning track after losing the Manchester derby, and they kept the clean sheet in the previous four games. Manchester City celebrated 26 times on the last 27 occasions, and they want to get in control of this tie after the first leg game.

Borussia Dortmund heads to this game after a disappointing 2:1 home loss against Eintracht Frankfurt. That defeat kept them away from the top-four battle, as they are now seven points behind Frankfurt. BVB has been very inconsistent in the Bundesliga recently since they booked only two wins in the last five rounds. However, the visitors enjoy a successful Champions League campaign, where they eliminated Sevilla in the eight-finals. Erling Haaland is especially inspired in this competition as the Norwegian international netted ten times on eight occasions. Nevertheless, the away side needs to tighten its defense if they want to remain in the competition. Borussia Dortmund conceded at least two goals in four of their last five games. It is going to be a tough challenge for the German team, but they want to give their best shot.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Interestingly, the Citizens haven’t beat Dortmund so far in their head-to-head clashes. However, Manchester City has been on a tremendous run lately, and they are firm favorites for a place in the semi-finals. We believe the hosts will meet the expectations and secure a first-leg advantage.

Goals Market Prediction

Although the hosts have been very hard to crack lately, Dortmund has been very productive this season. We count on Erling Haaland to score at least once, and neither side should keep the clean sheet in this encounter.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool

Real Madrid is back in the La Liga title battle after beating Eibar 2:0 last weekend. After Atletico Madrid’s loss in Sevilla, Los Blancos are only three points behind the top spot. Zinedine Zidane’s side celebrated four times in a row, and they want to continue the winning streak. Although the hosts managed to keep their net intact only once on the previous six occasions, Karim Benzema and the lads have been pretty productive in the front. Real Madrid knocked out Atalanta in the last round, thanks to a 4:1 aggregate win. The decisive battles are ahead of the home side, and the Spanish champions want to be the best when it matters the most. However, Real Madrid cannot count on their skipper Sergio Ramos for this clash, as he will be sidelined due to an injury.

After a terrible run and six defeats in eight games, Liverpool managed to tie three victories. They got them back in the race for the top four since the Reds are only two points behind Chelsea. Jurgen Klopp’s side heads to this game from a 3:0 victory against Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend. Diogo Jota has been on fire in the previous two matches, scoring three times. On the other hand, Liverpool’s defense has been pretty tight and managed to keep its net on the past three occasions. The visitors have been on a good run on the road, as they booked four wins in the previous five outings. The English champions were better than RB Leipzig in the last stage, celebrating 4:0 on aggregate. The away side wants to continue with disciplined performances, and another one could bring them a positive result ahead to the second leg at Anfield.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be a tight clash, and both teams have equal chances of winning. Nevertheless, we think Real Madrid is a slight favorite, and Los Blancos might secure an advantage in the first leg. The Spanish side was better in its last three encounters with Liverpool, and they could continue that streak.

Goals Market Prediction

Despite Liverpool being pretty tight in the back recently, we expect to see at least three goals in total. Real Madrid has been pretty productive lately, while Sergio Ramos’s absence might open the space for Liverpool’s strikers.

Manchester City

They are in form, getting a five-match in recent games. Now they are sitting the first place in the table of English Premier League, 14 points ahead of the second. So they are able to devote themselves on UEFA Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund

They have been thought lack of ambitions because they lose to Eintracht Frankfurt in last game. It is because their key player, Erling Haland is going to transfer. Whats worse, Jadon Sancho and Axel Witsel still suffer from injuries.

Verdict:

Although Manchester City take the lower hand over Borussia Dortmund in past head-to-head clashes with a record of 2W-3L, Man City have made great progress this season. In addition, Borussia Dortmund are in poor state. Undoubtedly Man City are going to win.

Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund

The Champions League will see two epic Quarter-Final clashes tonight. Our first preview focuses on the 8pm BST encounter between Premier League champions elect Manchester City and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium. Can the home side take a big step closer towards their dream of winning the quadruple this season?

Manchester City are looking very good this season. Pep Guardiola has managed to put his team on the brink of regaining their Premier League title. The EFL Cup Final awaits against Tottenham, the team have an FA Cup Semi-Final to play versus Chelsea, and they are still very much in the hunt for their first ever Champions League trophy. This is where the pressure really cranks up. The Citizens have an 83% chance of winning this tie according to Euro Club Index and it's easy to see why. City have lost just 1 of their last 34 matches across all competitions. There is almost an entirely fit squad to choose from and the team is looking close to invincible right now.

Borussia Dortmund might not be as prolific this season as their opponents but they come into this game knowing they have arguably the most lethal striker in world football within their ranks. Erling Haaland has been rumoured to be courting the interest of a number of big European clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid. City have denied interest in the Norwegian front man but you have to wonder what impact these transfer rumours will have on the son of Alf Inge Haaland. He has scored 39 goals this season for club and country including bagging 10 goals in just 6 appearances in this competition. Edin Terzic's side know that with the club in 5th place in the Bundesliga and 7 points outside the Champions League qualification places that winning the tournament this year is probably their best chance of being involved next season. No pressure!

I can't help but feel this could be an absolute barn stormer of a game. Manchester City are one of the in-form sides in European football at the moment. City are being priced as long as 6.00 to win the quadruple and you'd be brave to bet against them right now. Borussia Dortmund need to get a big name manager in. Haaland is likely off in the summer, the club is looking set to drop out of the Champions League, and Terzic simply doesn't feel like the right man. City should seal Dortmund's fate early in this tie.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool

It's another massive game coming up in the Champions League Quarter-Finals tonight when La Liga title contenders Real Madrid host reigning Premier League champions Liverpool in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Santiago Bernabeu Alfredo Di Stefano. Both of these clubs have great history in this competition and an exit at this stage of the competition will feel like a failure for them.

Real Madrid haven't exactly been in vintage form this season. Head coach Zinedine Zidane has a prestigious record in this competition having won it once as a player and three times as a manager of the club. This is a replay of the 2018 where Real Madrid prevailed as 3-1 winners and the game was overshadowed by the controversial challenge Sergio Ramos made on Mohamed Salah. Such an incident won't happen tonight with Ramos and his centre back partner Rafael Varane both ruled out for this game. Los Blancos are unbeaten in 11 matches across all competitions. Losses in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana mean that it's just the league and this competition left for the club to fight for now. The team is in 3rd in La Liga so there is every chance they could end this season without a single trophy.

Liverpool will be disappointed that their league campaign has been such a disaster so far. Injuries to key players and poor form has left the Reds down in 7th place and fighting against the odds to qualify for next season's Champions League via their domestic league. Jurgen Klopp has managed to keep his team focused in this competition though with just 1 defeat from their 8 matches so far. The past two performances in the Premier League have also suggested that Liverpool are getting back to their best. Two clean sheets and two wins. Is hope of another run at the Champions League growing?

This is yet another match this week that could have a huge role in determining the fate of these two clubs. Could we see Real Madrid put on the verge of elimination here? Ramos and Varane missing is a tremendous blow and one that the Liverpool front three will relish if Klopp can get them firing back to their best. Can Liverpool go to the Bernabeu and win? Absolutely they can!

Bayern Munich vs PSG

The hosts head to this match after a vital 1:0 victory against RB Leipzig in Bundesliga last weekend. That win made them seven points ahead of the nearest contenders, and the Bavarians can be much more relaxed in the domestic championship. That allows them to focus more on defending the Champions League trophy. Hans Flick’s side has been on an excellent streak, as the German team celebrated seven times in a row. After having trouble keeping their net intact in several games, the hosts haven’t conceded on the previous two occasions. Robert Lewandowski has been lethal for the oppositions’ goalkeepers this season, but he won’t be able to help his teammates in this game due to an injury. Bayern Munich managed to eliminate Lazio in the eight-finals without many problems, and they want to continue their Champions League journey.

On the other hand, PSG suffered a narrow 1:0 defeat against Lille in a direct clash for the top spot. The French champions are now three points behind their rivals, while Lyon and Monaco also search for their chance to attack the trophy. Mauricio Pochettino’s side put a very poor display last weekend, and the visitors need to improve a lot if they want to secure a positive result from this one. Players seemed very frustrated, especially Neymar, who was sent off at the very finish of the match. However, PSG’s away displays have been very confident on the road since they celebrated seven times in a row on the away grounds. A 4:1 victory at Camp Nou led them towards the quarter-finals, but that tie could have easily gone in the wrong direction if Leo Messi converted the penalty in the second-leg game. The visitors will also miss several players for their trip to Munich.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

This match is the clash of titans and one of the major contenders for the Champions League trophy. Despite Lewandowski’s absence, the hosts have been more consistent lately, and we believe they are closer to victory in this encounter. Bayern Munich managed to beat their upcoming rivals four times in a row at their ground.

Goals Market Prediction

Both teams have enormous attacking potential and can produce goals against any opponent. Although we saw just one goal in their latest clash, this one should be more efficient. Therefore, we expect the game to go over a 2.5 margin.

Porto vs Chelsea

The home side has been on a very good run lately in Primeira Liga, where they celebrated four times in a row. A stoppage-time winner against Santa Clara last weekend kept them in the 2nd spot. Porto will have a tough challenge to defend the domestic title since Sporting has been superb this season. Nevertheless, Sergio Conceicao’s side needs to continue its streak to remain in 2nd place, as Benfica and Braga are three and four points behind them, respectively. Porto has already done a great job in the Champions League by eliminating Juventus in the eight-finals. Although they are considered the weakest team among all quarter-finals participants, they won’t give up on their chances. However, Porto will miss two top scorers in this game. Both Sergio Oliveira and Mehdi Taremi are suspended for the first leg.

A hot weekend is behind Chelsea. The Blues lost to struggling WBA 5:2 despite their early lead and slipped down from the top four. The away side is now one point behind West Ham, and they will need to improve to secure a Champions League ticket for the next season. However, those are not the only troubles for the visitors. Reports say that there have been a couple of clashes between players in the locker room, which will certainly damage the team’s morale. It’s going to be the toughest challenge for Thomas Tuchel to establish his authority and drive the club to success. Chelsea has been excellent against Atletico Madrid in the previous round and earned a place among the best eight teams thanks to a 3:0 aggregate win. The visitors managed to keep the clean sheet seven times in a row before the latest Premier League round, and they need to embrace the disciplined style back.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

This would be an easy game to predict if it was played seven days ago. However, it became very tricky after the latest developments in Chelsea’s locker room. Porto is not without a chance, and if they manage to put a quality display like the one against Juventus, they may remain undefeated.

Goals Market Prediction

The hosts will miss their top two scorers, while the Blues have been excellent in the back if we don’t count their latest game. We believe both teams will be cautious in this encounter, and therefore, we don’t expect to see more than two goals in total.

Bayern Munich score abundantly even without Lewandowski, but the Bavarians can not expect to proceed to an emphatic victory in the first match as they did against Lazio, even with its opponent stuttering in Ligue 1. Many questions will be asked after the way Chelsea lost to Allardyce last time, but Tuhel has many options on the bench, which he must use for the first match. Bayern Munich vs PSG

The Champions League Quarter-Finals continue on Wednesday night with two cracking ties. The first of those we're covering is the game of the round with reigning champions Bayern Munich taking on one of their closest rivals in Ligue 1 champions PSG in an 8pm BST kick-off from the Allianz Arena. It's a replay of last year's final so will the visitors enact revenge on their hosts?

Bayern Munich are looking well set for another successful season this year. Manager Hans-Dieter Flick has led his team to three trophies already this season winning the DFL Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. The Bavarians are also 7 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with just 9 league games to go but won't be able to add the DFB-Pokal to their trophy haul this season after suffering a shock defeat on penalties in the 2nd Round to Bundesliga II side Holsten Kiel. Retaining the Champions League crown is clearly a priority right now. The team have won 7 and drawn 1 of their 8 games in the competition so far and it's hard to see how they can't be considered firm favourites to win the trophy for a second successive season. This could be a challenge though with the trio of Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski, and Marc Roca all set to potentially miss the game.

PSG might play down such words as "revenge" and "justice" but behind the scenes there is no doubt that they will be absolutely focused on avenging the Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich from last season. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has had a par for the course start as gaffer of the French club since he replaced Thomas Tuchel on 2nd January. The Parisians have generally had satisfactory results but have dropped disappointing points in the league with defeats to clubs including Lorient, Monaco, Nantes, and Lille. That last defeat occurred this past week with Lille leapfrogging PSG to the top of the Ligue 1 table. None of that will matter if Pochettino's side eliminate the reigning champions from this competition though.

I'm anticipating a barn storming affair here. Bayern Munich haven't lost a Champions League game in their last 19 outings but they are vulnerable with key absentees here. PSG still feel that they are destined to win this trophy and after coming so close last season they are getting nearer to achieving that goal. Any team that has Neymar and Kylian Mbappe leading the line is worth backing. I'm wondering if Bayern will still have enough defensively to hold PSG off. Although Pochettino doesn't exactly have the best experiences of playing Bayern!

Porto vs Chelsea

The final Champions League Quarter-Final we're covering is the clash between Portuguese Primeira Liga reigning champions Porto and Premier League side Chelsea in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan in Seville on Wednesday night. This is one of the more finely balanced ties of the round with both teams enjoying success in this competition over the past 20 years and now aiming to recapture those glory days.

Porto might not be having it all their own way on the domestic front with the club in 2nd place and 8 points behind league leaders Sporting CP but they are still performing well in Europe. Head coach Sergio Conceicao has guided his team to winning the Supertaca Candido de Oliveira and has also led his team to the Taca de Portugal Semi-Finals and Taca da Liga Semi-Finals. Progressing to this stage of the Champions League is probably just about meeting the board's expectations in an ideal scenario so victory here would do Conceicao's reputation as a manager the world of good. Both games are set to be played at this neutral venue in Spain due to covid-19 travel restrictions between Portugal and England. How will that affect the tie?

Chelsea would have been fairly confident of progressing past this round before the weekend after going undefeated under the management of Thomas Tuchel. The German had led PSG to the Champions League Final last season and was doing a superb job with the Blues so far. However, along came a Sam Allardyce-managed West Brom who stormed to a 5-2 win away at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. It could have been a simple blip but it does show how this Chelsea side under Tuchel aren't flawless. It is still all to play for with the London club 5th in the league table, in the FA Cup Semi-Finals, and just four games away from a Champions League Final appearance. The big challenge will be to see how they react to this weekend's shock loss or will it have a detrimental impact on their season?

I'm a big fan of Porto. Always have been. I love the fact they have continued to rival the best clubs in Europe on a relatively limited budget and have this ability to keep churning out these talented players. The absence of Sergio Oliveira is a big loss given his influence in the last round win over Juventus but this Porto side is a proper team with more than one player who can do the business. Chelsea will need to be at their best and I feel that both legs being played in Spain could give Porto the edge over two legs but we could see a fired up Chelsea bouncing back after the West Brom loss here.

Chelsea vs Porto

The hosts quickly recovered from a shocking 5:2 defeat against WBA and booked two crucial wins on the road. The Blues brought a 2:0 advantage from their trip to Porto while beating Crystal palace in the Premier League last weekend. It seems that Thomas Tuchel managed to turn down sparkles in the locker room that could have set it on fire. Instead, Chelsea scored more than two goals in a match for the first time since the German head coach took over the bench. The home side is still active in the top-four battle in the English top-flight, being one point behind the fourth-placed West Ham. Leicester City’s two defeats in a row add more uncertainty around who will book the two remaining Champions League tickets for the next campaign. During the current one, Chelsea is on a sound track of progressing to the semi-finals.

The flame of Porto’s title hopes is still burning as they booked the fifth straight victory in the Primeira Liga. The Dragons are now only six points behind Sporting, who drew twice in a row. With eight rounds to go, Porto will put pressure on their rivals in the title battle. Sergio Conceicao’s side heads to this game after a 2:0 victory over Tondela and with two vital players back in the squad. Sergio Oliveira and Mehdi Taremi were sidelined for the match at Estadio do Dragao, but they will try to help their teammates to turn around the aggregate result. Porto has been the most productive team in the Portuguese top-flight, but their defense could have been a bit tighter. Nevertheless, the visitors enjoy an excellent form on the road, as they celebrated in the previous four outings. Although a challenging task is ahead of them, Porto won’t give up in this tie.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is questionable if Chelsea can count on the hope-pitch advantage since the game is going to be played in Sevilla, which suits Porto better. However, we think the Blues are favorites in this match, and they will put another confident display to secure a place in the semis.

Goals Market Prediction

Porto doesn’t have time to wait if they want to neutralize their rivals’ advantage. With their two best players’ return, the visitors can find the back of the oppositions’ net, despite Chelsea being very disciplined in the back. Therefore, we believe both teams should score in this encounter.

PSG vs Bayern Munich

A massive 3:2 victory from Munich put PSG into a commanding position ahead of the return clash. Kylian Mbappe and the lads capitalized on their chances at Allianz Arena and got back home with significant capital. Mauricio Pochettino’s side was successful in Strasbourg last weekend and got back home with a convincing 4:1 win. Those three points still keep the home side in the title race since they are three points behind Lille. However, PSG’s latest home performances were far below their standards. The hosts managed to win only once on the previous five occasions at Parc des Princes. Strangely, but it seems they feel more confident on the road, where they played flawlessly during the last weeks. They are about the face one of the most dominant European teams and don’t have that luxury to get complacent again.

Bayern Munich dominated its upcoming rival last week in all aspects, but that didn’t reflect on the final score. The Bavarians did everything right, except for the finishing, as they should have scored half a dozen goals if their composure were a bit better. Despite missing many first-team players, including Robert Lewandowski, Bayern had 30 attempts in the first leg game. Hans Flick will have a giant headache ahead of Tuesday’s clash, as the list of sidelined players got even bigger. Serge Gnabry will definitely miss this match, although the German side’s fans hoped he would be ready to help his teammates. The defense will need to keep its line tight without Niklas Sule, but still, Bayern is not a team that should be underestimated. They picked up just a point last weekend in the game against Union Berlin. However, some of the first-team players had a day off to be fresh for the crucial match in Paris. Maxim Choup-Moting and the lads need to convert their chanced into goals if they want to keep the chance for defending the Champions League title.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Despite a massive number of injured players, sportsbooks still consider Bayern as favorites. PSG has been unstable lately, especially when playing at home, and that’s what the visitors could exploit. The hosts had a 4:1 advantage against Barcelona in the previous round but needed to defend tightly to keep the positive scoreline. Bayern can do damage to PSG, and we think they will win this match. We’ll see if that will be enough for a place among the best four teams.

Goals Market Prediction

PSG will probably focus on counter-attacks, just in the first leg, when they profited a lot. We shouldn’t spend too many words on the attacking potential of these two sides. Bayern doesn’t have time to wait, and we could see at least two goals already in the first half.

Borussia Dortmund vs Manchester City

The hosts remained in 5th place in the Bundesliga after celebrating a 3:2 victory away to Stuttgart. Dortmund trailed at halftime but managed to pull a turnaround in the second part of the match. However, they are still seven points behind Eintracht Frankfurt, with six rounds to go ’till the end of the domestic campaign. Erling Haaland and the lads have been pretty productive this season, but they had trouble keeping their net intact. BVB failed to keep the clean sheet in the previous four matches, and it has been a significant issue for the hosts this season. Borussia Dortmund managed to keep the result active after the first leg, thanks to their away goal in a 2:1 defeat. They would need to show an outstanding composure level in this game since the defense is not the strongest part of the lineup.

Manchester City heads to this clash after losing against ten-men Leeds United at Emirates Stadium. However, they could afford that luxury since the Citizens are eleven points ahead of Manchester United. It was their second defeat in the previous 36 games, and Man city is among the prime candidates for winning the current Champions League edition. But first, they need to hold their first-leg advantage intact in Dortmund. After keeping the clean sheet four times in a row, Pep Guardiola’s side conceded at least once on the previous two occasions. Ilkay Gundogan and the lads should be alert since they secured a victory thanks to Phil Foden’s late winner. The visitors shouldn’t leave any room for complacency if they want to progress to the next round in the competition.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Manchester City is a favorite in this clash, and the away side shouldn’t take anything for granted. The visitors put the entire focus on this game, and we believe they will meet the expectations and get back home with a victory.

Goals Market Prediction

Borussia Dortmund needs to try scoring at least one goal in this match to get an opportunity to progress in the semi-finals. We believe they are capable of beating the opposition’s goalkeeper, and the nets shouldn’t remain still in this encounter.

Liverpool vs Real Madrid

Liverpool booked an important 2:1 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League last weekend, although they were trailing 1:0 at halftime. They remained in the battle for the top four, and the Reds are still three points behind West Ham. Jurgen Klopp’s side celebrated for the third time in a row in the domestic championship, but they needed a late winner in the previous match. Mo Salah and the lads did not put a good display in Madrid, and their rivals secured a massive 3:1  advantage. The hosts would need to tighten the defense, as they made some ridiculous mistakes in the first leg. Liverpool should look for a much more confident performance to come from behind in this tie.

Although it seemed they won’t defend the La Liga title, Real Madrid is back in the race. Los Blancos celebrated a crucial 2:1 victory in El Clasico and climbed to 2nd place. Los Blancos are now just a point behind Atletico Madrid, and they are in a great momentum. Zinedine Zidane’s side booked six straight wins in all competitions, despite keeping the clean sheet five times during that streak. Sergio Ramos will still be unable to help his teammates, but Karim Benzema and the lads manage to compensate that in the final third. Real Madrid hasn’t lost since the end of January and missed the chance to win only twice in the previous 13 matches. The visitors have a substantial first-leg advantage, but they shouldn’t get complacent.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Liverpool doesn’t look confident at all, and the hosts will have a challenging task to book a place in the semi-finals. Real Madrid has been in much better form, and we believe they won’t lose at Anfield. Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised if the match finishes in a draw.

Goals Market Prediction

The Reds will need to apply the attacking approach from the very start of the game, leaving some space for the visitors’ counter-attacks. We think both teams are capable of scoring, and neither of them will keep the clean sheet.
