It was a dramatic week last time around. @Mindfulness my heart was going through the wringer for you with that Roma versus Spezia call. Thought you had it bagged with that last minute equaliser only for the home team to snatch the win in injury time. At least you got your money back. What are you all thinking for these games? Love the amount of contributions in here recently. Feels like we're getting back to the good old days in the Italian thread. Haha yes, Roma just about managed to nick the win but credit to Lorenzo Pellegrini who put in a strong performance for the Giallorossi when they needed him. Spezia were a menace as expected and were far too big with a 1X2 price of 9.0, markets clearly got that one wrong although the away side shortened significantly before kick-off. Atalanta was more successful in their first clash and celebrated a 3:2 victory. That one saw them progressing to the next round of Coppa Italia, and this game will be a completely different one. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side sits in 5th place, and they are only a point behind the third-placed Roma. Luis Muriel and the lads have been unbeatable recently, as they haven’t lost since the end of November. Atalanta booked nine victories and five draws during that period in all competitions. The home side is the second most efficient team in Serie A, and they keep up playing attractive football. The Nerazzurri will also miss top performing centre-back Romero who is absent after testing positive for plague. Lazio have trequartista Luis Alberto back in contention for this match, although it remains to be seen whether he will start. The biancoceleste actually lost this fixture 3-2 in the Coppa Italia midweek and this may explain why Lazio's odds have drifted slightly here. It should be noted that Simone Inzaghi fielded a number of second stringers in the cup game but I expect Lazio to near full strength for this match. A very tough game to predict between two good sides but I probably wouldn't make Atalanta odds on given the present circumstances. Lazio have the quality to register a positive result in this game and I like them on the +0.25 line at clear odds against for the value bet. They haven’t been too consistent lately, and the hosts missed the chance to climb on the top spot. However, Antonio Conte’s side eliminated Milan in the previous round of this competition and scheduled a clash with Juventus. That was a sparkling game, and Christian Eriksen scored a free-kick deep in the stoppage time. Romelu Lukaku and the lads have been clinical in front of the oppositions’ net this season with 49 goals scored. However, they have troubles in the back as the hosts conceded 23 times. Expect a draw is the most likely result, as there is the second act next week and both clubs will not take any risks.
