Trotter
Interesting renewal of the Sun Chariot - Newm 3.25 - with most of the established group one fillies who run against each other all the time It's a bit 'who's turn is it today'? With some cut in the ground I'll plump for Hermosa 7/2, to come out on top this time The Fly in the ointment is the lightly raced impressive group 3 winner, Lavender's Blue, who is probably on an upward curve ...... I expect she's the 'sexy' choice at 7/1. The ground is an unknown and she's pulled out of a Listed race because of soft ground at Salisbury ...... if she's OK on Good to Soft could be an EW steal Not overly impressed with Day One of the Arc meeting ........ I've think they've ruined it a bit my moving all the meaningful group one races and running them all on Sunday. It leaves the Saturday card a bit 'meh'
Bathtime For Rupert
1.40 Newmarket - 1pt win Hyanna @ 11/1 (Hills) I think this will be run at a good pace and will take some getting on potentially tacky ground so I like the prospects of 1m4f winner Hyanna here. Has been running well in a number of highly competitive handicaps and this is easier than last time out. I think a strong run 1m2f is perfect and whilst maybe not as unexposed as some of these, has the form in the book to go well at a price. 4.35 Newmarket - 2pts win Specialist @ 3/1 (Bet365) Hard to judge the favourite on its easy win last time out but Specialist is a rock solid alternative and will take the beating here in my eyes. Should improve for the step up in trip and did as well as expected last time out behind an odds on shot who has run well in listed company since.
