Systemight
Blimey, your making me feel my age now.Was in attendance at all of the above 10 races but only Goulanes carried my money. So not a lucky race for me,but this meeting is my favorite of all the 25 Uttoxeter fixtures and is definitely the one to go to if you have never been to the course before. BillyHills
I used to go years ago when i lived in the midlands. I have to admit it gets a bit busy for my liking these days. We had a PL meet-up once at Uttoxeter a few years ago. I remember taking some photos of the race when a horse called Jimmy Miff was running and Jenny Pitman had a horse called The Songwriter or something in the line up. Must be late 1970's, I'll see if i can find it. black rabbit
Systemight
Wow that was FOURTY YEARS ago Billy. Jimmy Miff was a legend in these parts and raced until he was 15 i think. Such was his popularity with the locals(who used to cheer him even on his way down to the start),Uttoxeter named one of their bars after him. black rabbit and BillyHills

Trotter
Enjoyed the memories posts above ! ………. great stuff ……… I think I might have a break from the All Weather for a bit as I've gone stale and need to look at something else for a change of scenery. Handicap chases here I come ! For Uttoxter I have a short list of 4 - Back To The Thatch, Chef D-Ouvre, Arthurs Gift, Get On The Yager That's too many so I'm going with Get On The Yager EW 20/1 On last winning mark and has won over 3 and a quarter miles on Heavy so should stay all day……. has had a couple of outings over too short trips during which he' dropped 7lbs in the weights Fits the trends for age, weight BillyHills

Systemight
Trotter, Just for the record BACK TO THE THATCH was down for a long time following his fall at the last,we feared the worst, but he got up to one of the biggest cheers of the afternoon!. Richard Johnson stayed with him the whole time despite it teeming down with rain, who says jockeys don't care eh?.
