He started with a decent 3rd at Wetherby when unfancied and then improved to win at Ayr in a close finish, he battled on well that day and looked like an improver to me. The trainer has been quoted as saying he takes more time with his horses nowadays and doesn't have to win first time out, this looks a case in point and could be well in on 113. Last effort was a good one , after making some mistakes and still managing to run on from way back in the field. Finished 4th but showed he was better than the result suggests (for me atleast) . That race was in heavy ground like here and over same trip. Down 8lbs and could spring a surprise, if fav doesnt have it all his own way.
