The places I used to drink were the PMUs because they were the cheapest. I wasn't a gambler, but to show willing I'd put on single wins on horses. I used to avoid that really silly trap/trotting races. What was all that about? I'd avoid all those forecasts and trifectas that French people loving those weird bets, and I'd choose a horse that had an Irish jockey and trainer. Why had they gone to France? Do you remember that even years ago they had Lotto-style betting slips? I made every day tiny profits. French people did not bet on non-French horses, so the odds could be TOO GOOD! a 3-1 horse could be 10-1; it's a Tote system. If I won too much I imagined scenes from Casino with Joe Pesci.
