Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm Cheltenham 2:05 - Pertemps Network Final(HANDICAP HURDLE) (Listed) (1) 3m Another big handicap, another huge puzzle to try to figure out, but a horse I have always been a fan on is BIG EASY, trained by Philip Hobbs and ridden by Richard Johnson. This horse won the Cesarewitch at Newmarket back in October and when he moved on to the national hunt scene, he ran a belter here at Cheltenham over 3m2f when 2nd behind Katkeau of the David Pipe yard. He then went on to Haydock and once more ran a brilliant race in the Fixed Brush Hurdle when 2nd behind Aubusson, travelling very strongly throughout the race. Back to Cheltenham he came in December and once more he travelled like a winner but he just got done by the Alan King trained Ulzana's Raid near the line, how frustrating. When last seen he was 4th behind Regal Encore but he clearly likes Cheltenham and that has to be a huge positive. He has been so unlucky in his recent races and certainly deserves a race of this nature so take the 11/1 with Betway each-way. >>>>> Big Easy - 1 Point each-way @ 11/1 Betway https://www.punterslounge.com/cheltenham-festival/

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm 2.05 Cheltenham: Pertemps Network Final (3m) A very tricky handicap over three miles in which the classy Fingal Bay won last year off 11st 12lbs. That was a terrific effort and bucked so many trends as he started 9/2f as well. Previously we had seen ten double figure priced winners on the trot and that included two 50/1 shots and a 25/1 chance. Trainer Jonjo O’Neill has won this race 4 times so he’s always worth watching in these big handicaps at his local course. David Pipe has also won it twice since 2010, both with Buena Vista. Six of the best; Join The Clan – Ridden by the young claimer Patrick Cowley, hadn’t shown anything in his first three starts this year but bounced back to form in style at Warwick. He then followed up under a big weight rise at Wetherby and races off another 6lb hike. This is tougher but has to be respected. Regal Encore – Another horse owned by JP McManus and this one is the pick of AP McCoy. Always promised a lot but never actually delivered last season and came back to form at Exeter when he beat Alaivan by 3 lengths. 10lbs higher here which makes life difficult but will have his supporters. Edeymi – Dangerously lurking at the bottom of the handicap off 10st 9lbs for shrewd trainer Tony Martin. Only a 7yo so still has time to progress over hurdles and was a fair 4th to Dawalan at Musselburgh. Looks a likely horse for money and one to fear. Call The Cops – Has been touted for this race ever since he won at Doncaster in February, he beat Waltz Darling by 5 lengths that day and runs with a 5lbs penalty which just gets him in the race. That was his first try at the trip so has scope for more improvement and could be ahead of the handicapper. Spirit Of Shankly – Useful sort on his day and trainer Charlie Longsdon has done well with this 7yo. Was impressive at Aintree in October and may well go back there next month but if the ground stays sound he will be competitive here at a big price. Big Easy – Very consistent sort and has gone up 10lbs this season without winning. Second here in November to Katkeau and filled the same place at both Haydock and here again in December. 4th last time at Exeter was another sound effort and really deserves a big win over hurdles. Verdict: Ultra competitive as per usual and the one I’m going to rely on is Big Easy. He never seems to run a bad race and likes it here, which is a great advantage. Loads of others with a chance in a race where not many look well handicapped to me although the Tony martin horse at the bottom looks very tempting. 1pt EW Big Easy 10/1 bet365 (first 5)

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm another open hcap but as a result theres plenty of value on offer .......think im going to stick with the lighter weights here .....a lot of the quick horses seem to be low weighted in this and generally low weights have done well in the past so the two seem to fit well ......firstly call the cop ran a very good race lto and could be anything .....drying ground a big plus so has conditions to suit ....nice price around 11/1 shortlist ..........also bygones soverign and run ructions run race looks pretty decent form and both get to run off low weights here and surprisingly the bookies have priced up at 25/1 +......I think that's very goiod value indeed ...didn't expect more than 16/1 on both so a def play call the cops 2pts win 11/1 paddyp bygones soverign 2pts win 33/1 corals run ructions run 2pts win 25/1 corals

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm Again one Uk and One Irish runner..... Bygones Sovereign - 33\1 Coral Good stayer and in form with wins last 2 times. Blinkers on for 1st time and 7lb claimer onboard. Edeymi - 9\1 PP Bottom weight and looks a plot horse for the Tony Martin yard with Bryan Cooper onboard. Did enough last time out without been pushed to qualify for this race.

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm Forum consensus on Bygones Sovereign, and i'm not going to be the one to break it either, priced as above at 33's with Coral.(P.S, ow i've tipped it, click "lay" on Betfair. You've been warned) I opposed him after his first breakaway front-running success, putting it down to an enterprising ride that wouldn't be replicated. And of course, he did. The claimer's excellent value, and given the racing style, I would hope he can save some ground and avoid trouble. First time blinkers are always a risk, but given the size of the field and the hike in the competition, anything more they can eek out might just be enough. Regardless, he represents serious value in a wide-open contest.

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm Last time at Musselbrugh I felt Edeymi's jockey was borderline not trying. This race is clearly the plan and I would have to think he comes here with a big chance off this mark. Horses at the bottom of the weights tend to run well in this which is another positive. Aqalim was beaten by Bygones Sovereign who should give a good account of himself from the front again last time but it was an encouraging first attempt at 3 miles. He's lightly raced and like Edeymi is running off 10-9 so we should expect some improvement from this 5 yo. Twiston Davies is a great booking and although he runs a little lazily he seems to stay well and the first time visor may help him travel better through the race. The 33/1 available looks too big especially with many bookies paying out 5 places. Edeymi - 1pt each-way @ 8/1 PaddyPower Aqalim - 1pt each-way @ 33/1 StanJames

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm 2.05 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Brother Brian @ 10/1 (Bet365) Progressive over hurdles and brings course form to the table here having won impressively here last season. Has run good races the last twice - dictating and staying on well to win a competitive race on his first start before being outspeeded by Rock on Ruby last time in a race he didn't have too much right to be winning. Ran respectively though and seems to be improving. Likes decent ground, is uncomplicated, should stay out of the ruck and looks like he'll stay this far. Should go well for a long way.

Re: Pertemps Network Final > Thursday March 12th @ 2:05pm Sybarite 20/1 @ 0.5pts EW Paddy Power (5 places) - quirky horse but has run well round here both times this seasons staying on late. Perfect type for this race. Katkeau 25/1 @ 0.5pts EW Boyles (5 places) - Also run well around here early season, that form is sold and ran respectably on a less preferred soft surface since. Brother Brian 12/1 @ 1 pt Bet365 - Form rock solid, improving all the time and will relish this test. Big Easy 11/1 @ 0.5 pts Hills MB2 - Been as consistent as any horse in training and his form is the best of the lot. Trainer not in the same form now though and finds one.
