Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th I am going to have a go at picking draws in this division, which I know well from watching Reading. I am not betting for the time being--just working at this on paper. The two games I would select as possible draws are Charlton v Brighton and Blackpool v Millwall. * Some observations (not picks) on value. Today (Monday), Bournemouth are at evens to beat Norwich at home. In the last league game, Norwich were the worst team I saw against Reading since Fulham under Felix Magath. And they followed up by being abysmal in the cup as well. So evens Bournemouth seems generous. Best chance of a turn up could be Rotherham (16/5) away to Brentford, as the latter have lost three on the trot including the cup/ As for Reading, it is very difficult to tell where we are under the new manager. We have improved but still have some dodgy players and some weak positions. Today we are 12/5 at home to beat Boro, which I think is generous, considering we beat them up there.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th i think brighton could have a good run of wins now that their form has improved since sami departure and they beat fulham at their own stadium without conceding and also brentford away from home and that's not an easy task. charlton make it hard but for me they brighton will edge it

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th that's a tricky one as norwich are starting to pick up form too. bournemouth can score goals but they also concede. norwich can be hard team to play against on their good day. they lost their last two games over the holidays and this one is potentially important match for them to bounce back. they tend to raise their game against the better sides. this season they picked up points from most of top half teams. i think i will swerve this game

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th bolton have been on a fantastic honeymoon period since neil took over and going unbeaten for long time but it ended finally against huddersfield. they both have similar stats especially in goals scored / conceded. i wouldn't write off leeds here. they are struggling but that's when teams are really dangerous and they could get something. i see a lot of potential surprises this weekend

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th Anyone else have any thoughts or info on Bolton-Leeds. Bolton's home form has been good since Lennon took over, and even though they lost against Huddersfield, away, like Sajtion said, they got back on track beating Wigan 1-0 in the cup at the weekend. Leeds appear fairly unthreatening under Redfearn away, losing four of five. As a Norwich fan I don't think Bournemouth are value at all at near evens. Part of the reason we've not done as well as we should this season is Neil Adams liked to play in a negative manner and wait until we are 2-0 down before bringing on people like Redmond and Hoolahan, who probably are amongst the best attackers in this league, Hoolahan most definitely. I would hope Mike Phelan would address this. With the squad we have we should be doing better and under a better coach we could win at Bournemouth. But it's a coin toss as to how good Phelan may actually be.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th Well, I do not think a coin toss is value. If Phelan improves them, fair enough. But they could hardly muster a shot against Reading. And according to both the Preston manager and the Match of the Day comments, they did not have a shot against Preston either. Bournemouth are much better than both Reading and Preston. I would not back either Bournemouth or Bolton, if only because evens is never value in this league, where anything can happen. Of the two, though, I would rather back Bournemouth than Bolton.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th I noticed the following offer on another thread. I have not looked at the Cardiff game, but this makes me even more dubious about the short for Bolton and Middlesborough. When you break 9:1 down into separate bets, each team is odds against to win--which means the bookies believe these teams are less likely to win than to not win. Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th

Well it's not going to be Mike Phelan making the decision' date=' looks as though it's Alex Neil. I think the price on Bournenouth looks huge and anywhere near evens is a gift id be willing to take if I wasn't a Norwich fan.[/quote'] At best it looks like he'll have one or two training sessions with the side, so his impact should be minimal. I still think Bournemouth are too short. In the last five home games they narrowly beat Brighton, and drew with Ipswich and Millwall, the latter losing 6-1 at Norwich recently and it could have been ten.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th 3pts Ipswich to beat Derby 13/8 Bet365 This should be a really good game between two of the better sides in the division but I like the way that Mick McCarthy’s men go about their business. They are very hard working as you would expect but when they attack they really carry a threat in front of goal. If there is a criticism of Derby it is that they can sometimes lack a bit of physicality down the middle and Ipswich could make that tell here. Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th Just a couple of things about the Bolton - Leeds match. Chung lee will be missing as he has gone to the asia cup and he's been by far our best player since lennon has come in, he's looked premier league class, I've no idea how lennon has done it! Craig Davies will probably come back in to the team after injury, another player who has looked very decent under our new manager. Glad we don't have to start with Heskey up front! He's an impact player at best. Not beaten leeds at home for the last couple of seasons but they do look a poor side. We are on the up and our best game under lennon was infact our last match in the cup. Look out for Zac clough who scored in the last match and ran the show. This lad is going to be a class act so hopefully will be involved. Decent odds for a team which has only lost 3 times in 14 matches.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th

Any Infos about the Birmingham-Wigan Game? Wigan total out of form and bad in away games. So why Birmingham have such high odds for a Home Game?
I expect the reason is that Birmingham were thrashed in their last home match. But they went away and thrashed Forest in the game after. So this is an unpredictable match, even for the odds compilers. I cannot guess how it will turn out. (I watched the Forest-Birmingham game on telly and thought Birmingham looked excellent--but Forest are plumb bottom of the form table, and Wigan will have more of a defence.)

But I do like Birmingham here, Rowett is doing a very good job.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th We've signed Darren Bent, an ex-Tractor Boy who will give us a real option to go 4-4-2 if we go behind. I would be wary, but I agree with your analysis. After the defeat at Boro (similar in stature and build up) McClaren has said he is looking for a reaction in this game. If I was betting, I would probably take Derby or draw or Derby DNB as we have attacking players to pull games back if we go behind. Good luck, though.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th Huddersfield vs Watford What do you guys think of this match? Huddersfield home 5W 4D 3L 16 scored 14 conceded Watford away 6W 2D 4L 20 scored 12 conceded Watford's form is slightly better and they will be pushing for promotion Huddersfield is winless in the last 5 matches against Watford, losing all 5. I feel Watford's odds is too good already

Watford should have the tools to win at Hudds, they are starting to click. Seems a good price.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th Bolton Wanderers- Leeds United Neil Lennon has really got Wanderers up and running in double quick time, they have lost just once in ten starts and the signings of Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen have already proved to be good business, despite the laughter that greeted their arrival in some quarters. The duo at 36 yo will not have many miles left on the clock, but the pair have come because they want to play and not to simply collect a pay check and that has been apparent from their contribution so far, I doubt we will ever see more than an hour from either, but it only takes a second to score, so 60 minutes is plenty ! They will also have a big and positive influence on the youngsters at the club. Reports on the Trotters have been very good and they are not just picking up points, but outplaying teams, as I told you earlier this season, United are very limited and results are now proving that. They have taken just one point from their last six games, but have not conceded until after the 34th minute in four of the last five, 20 of the 25 road goals they have conceded this season have come in the final hour of games and with Bolton scoring 14 of their 19 home goals in the second half, it makes a lot of sense to hold off for a better price here. 1.25 units Bolton Wanderers -0.5 ball as soon as the quote reaches 2.30, regardless of score at the time.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > January 10th & 11th

I see some chance for B'burn HW. For me the are solid t home Tthey played a good las home game with M'brough. For Wolves big blow Sakho ad Dicko ae out (Africa Cup) GL
Think the price on Blackburn is pretty good and I struggle to see us getting anything out of this. It should be noted that Dicko HAS NOT gone to the Africa Cup but Sako is indeed a huge loss for us. Our top goal scorer and assister. Got some good signings in the pipeline by the looks of it but we are undoubtedly weakened for this match and as such I would be very hesitant to back any sort of Wolves win.
