Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November Don't bet in the Evo-Stik North too much, but Barwell look a cracking bet at 11/8 against Grantham. As pointed out on the FA Trophy thread at the weekend Grantham have had a budget cut and then lost 3-1 to a team from the league below who have also been struggling with money issues. Obviously their league form has been superb of late, but there were five changes in the first 11 on Saturday from the last league game and clearly it caused massive issues. What is good about this bet is Barwell are in really good form at the moment having won four of their last five league games and they won in the FA Trophy at the weekend. I find it hard to see how the new players at Grantham are going too show much improvement from Saturday to Tuesday with no training and in my view Barwell look an excellant bet.

Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November Herts Senior Cup Monday 3 Nov 19.45 St Albans v Cheshunt I've noticed it often pays to back the underdog in these local cup ties - especially when the unfancied side is away from home. It's just a hunch based on previous experience of this sort of local cup game. If I was offering odds on Cheshunt I would make them a bit lower than 5.0, so I think Cheshunt are worth backing, particularly at the much safer DNB option. I don't know much about either side, but they do say the cup can be a 'leveller' and my experience tells me Cheshunt's odds might be too high here. Cheshunt DNB 4.33 Bet365 Stake: 5 points

Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November Lincoln sacked their manager Gary Simpson today, and have put director/coach Chris Moyses in charge (presumably/hopefully) temporarily, who's only management experience with with Lincoln Moorlands Railway in the Northern Counties League a few seasons ago. I wouldn't touch their game with Altrincham with anyones money.

Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November

I would say team news would be the most vital factor in county cup games
Ideally, I would spend a lot of time analysing team news on these games - I just don't really have the time though ... also, not sure how much time should be spent on games only covered by one bookie.

Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November

I saw that Cheshunt were 3-0 up at half time' date='so to say you were unlucky is an understatement![/quote']Actually it was 3-2 at half time. Cheshunt had lead 3-0, but St Albans got 2 goal before half time. Here's a report on the game (it sounds very open with the accent more on attack than defence) - http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Alzapiedi-sees-red-Cheshunt-knocked-Herts-Senior/story-24054673-detail/story.html

Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November Three more County Cup games tonight (Tuesday 4th November), all being pretty local affairs. Once again, I think prices on the underdogs are a bit too long and worth backing, especially on the 2-way market. Colney Heath v Stevenage XI Colney Heath DNB 4.33 Frickley v Stocksbidge PS Stocksbridge PS DNB 3.75 Newcastle Town v Port Vale XI Newcastle Town DNB 4.5 Stake: 3 points on each Total stake: 9 points

Teams hate the County cup's and the lower ranked team will usually also put out a weakened team. I personally wouldn't bet on them as they are little more than friendlies. Main reason for betting is that I've noticed regularly how often the long-priced underdog prevails. Port Vale and Stevenage have shortened, and they have both announced they will be fielding 'strong sides' ... http://www.stevenagefc.com/news/article/strong-squad-expected-for-tuesdays-hsc-clash-2058988.aspx

Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November I've also noticed how many goals are scored in these County Cup games, and am prepared to back overs at what look reasonably attractive odds on Bet365 ... Colney Heath v Stevenage XI Over 3.5 1.8 Frickley v Stocksbidge PS Over 3.0 1.8 Newcastle Town v Port Vale XI Over 4.0 2.0 Stake: 3 points on each One treble of above @ 6.48 Stake: 1 point Total stake: 10 points
