I finally won some points but no chance of qualifying. will have to win one of the final 2 qualifiers if I can avoid all the suckouts. never seen so many people calling 3 or 4 outers.

Re: PokerPlayer Grand Prix 10 - Sky Poker. Starting July 9th I think there is potential for a lot of people pulling out yet. A 5k final isn't massive for what will be 40 registered players. I'm guessing that everyone will be paid but for some it won't be cost effective to come for a guaranteed bottom half £20-40 win. The guidelines are clear, if you cannot make it you cannot transfer it and so 21st place takes the next seat.

No disrespect but mrsoks for example has £100 of travel costs and would need to final table to cover his costs and that's with sleeping on a park bench for the night.

I had to trek all the way to London from Halifax last time and the €50 I won nowhere near covered it - but I had a great time and made a decent weekend of it so I was happy enough anyway. This time Leeds is 30 min away from me so it's much easier. Hope all those that made it through and want to play can find a way of making it worthwhile for them, even if it's just to catch a glimpse of me :p

Starting July 9th yea been looking into costs and with accommodation its looking to be around £200 - gonna be playing the poker player mag game at the vic mid november and most probably a 25/25 at my local casino nov 1st so will see how i get on there for covering leeds expenses - I remember the grand prix game in leicester square they gave everyone £100ish to cover expenses, maybe they will do something similar for this?

Yes, there are 34 qualifiers so far with 6 more to come from the two sats to total 40.

amazing value tonight with £500 added will be playing as if i come top 3 the next player gets seat and any prize monies can help towards travel - hope this won't be a problem?
Have pokerplayer confirmed that if a qualified player gets a seat, then next place gets a place? If so I will be very happy!

If so I will be very happy![/quote'] pretty sure that would be the case, i won a second seat (in a top 3 get seats tourny) in the last gp after already qualifying on the leaderboard and it was given to the 4th place player - i had hoped at the time to be able to sell it on to cover expenses.
